So I'm trying to work on an addon, learning as I go (with the help of a good book), but one thing I have noticed that I cant seem to figure out is why when I use frame:SetWidth(256) and texture:SetWidth(256) the texture is about 1/4 the width of the frame itself. Is this standard functionality and I am supposed to compensate? Or am I missing something else here?

Aug 21, 2009Hello,Posted in: Need Help?
I've been trying to start writing addons for wow and came across an issue that led to a bigger question. My issue was trying to figure out how to create and use sliders, first I tried using the <Slider> (including the different options) tag in the XML file with no luck, then after a while searching I found that you can create elements within the LUA file, and was wondering which is the preferred way? I understand the LUA was would be more dynamic, easier to change things from within the code, but is either way more efficient or beneficial than the other? Or is it basically just developer preference?
Thank you for your time.

Thanks for the tip, it was quite useful and I was able to hack something together from your example. However, the only thing I cant seem to figure out now is if the UI_INFO_MESSAGE message parameter includes the quest name (as it is shown on screen as (Quest Name) Quest Objective ?/?), its not showing up when adding it to the chat frame using ChatFrame1:AddMessage, only the quest objective and progress.
Any further suggestions?
Feb 15, 2009Hello,Posted in: Need Help?
Im looking for some sort of api function to follow quest objective status, so that I can try to make a mod that will put the quest objectives as they are completed or advanced in the chat box (local only, not sent through a channcel) instead of just floating for 2 seconds on my screen.
Any advice or knowledge of other mods that do this?
Nov 21, 2008I have a request for FuBar_QuestFu. Any chance we could get a sort of 'pin' option to lock the tracker in place while still being able to click on the quests via the tracker? Almost a halfway-lock type of thing, so I cant move it but can still use it.Posted in: FuBar AddOns

Ok, so I know that you've stated before that it would be impossible to create routes from self-created notes, like the ones created through cartographer_notes, but I was wondering if it would be at all possible to be able to create routes bu hand via a mechanism similar to the one to create taboo regions?
Thank you for your time,
Mar 24, 2008How about a mod that would track the exp of your multiple characters so you can know how much exp each char has as well as how much till they level without having to log onto each one. Maybe only on a per realm basis or so.Posted in: Addon Ideas
Mar 20, 2008Would there be any way to add the advantage of keeping track of all of your characters' (per realm) experience and display from ExperienceFu or does anyone have any suggestions for another mod that would do this?Posted in: FuBar AddOns
Thanks for your time.
