Old thread, but the mod is still patch up-to-date and usable. Wanted to add a "congratulatory" comment; comments are disabled on the project page.
Thanks a bunch Zhinjio for your August '09 changes incorporated into the current v2.12.0-release. They increase usability of the mod by a metric ton over what it used to be (scrolling on the tooltip when many records are recorded instead of them permanently dropping off the tooltip edge, the tooltip no longer hiding the LDB display, etc.). They have finally pushed Broker_HitCrit to the top rank(s) of full-featured crit recording mods.
Great work. And here's a smilie I've never used before: .
Have you considered interfacing your mains/alts association UI with LibAlts? This would provide a handy UI and persistent storage that other LibAlts addons like Prat could plug into to get main/alt association data.
I'm looking for an easy way to cut/paste my lists to post them on my guild forums. I looked into the skg web, but my guild is a huge multigame guild and setting up something like that would be impossible for us. What I'm wondering is if there would be someway to implement a feature that lets me either cut/paste (well copy actually) the list from in game OR that'll just let me export my lists to a text file or something so I can cut/paste from there. Right now our lists are small enough that I'm just typing it out after each raid on our forums, but thats going to get ugly as we grow.
Not currently. Please ticket this and I'll see if I can get time to do it.
you should probably stall this project till you get more details from the new guild control interface presented for cataclysm... then again, cataclysm is still a year away... probably not
I considered that. For a little bit. But yeah, Cataclysm is still so far out. Furthermore, I just want to do this ... to do it. So I learn a bit more, have a bit of fun, and maybe a few people use it.
Hmm... definitely one to keep an eye on, if for no other reason than having better permissions management for changing multiple characters at once. I'm sure we can all agree that the default interface is seriously lacking in this department. Should it be able to directly set ranks to a different rank, or will you still have to move them through each rank in between to get to the desired one?
Under the covers, there is still only "promote"/"demote" ... so it will have to move through them in order to get to the target.
Better Guild Control was born out of a couple different requests from Guild Leaders I've worked closely with. So far, this is still very much in the alpha stage, and really doesn't serve (yet) the purpose for which it is ultimately designed. But, one thing at a time.

Please feel free to offer comments, criticism and suggestions here. I may ask you to ticket suggestions we decide are worthy of being added to the "todo" list.
Is skg usable for people who is not in the same guild as me? We have 2 'external' players in our raids. Can we still use SKG?
External people can be in the raid, and participate in using the system in so far as they can whisper bids/retracts and be in lists and such. But they can't really run the addon and be able to use it effectively, nor can they be "admins".
Thanks for the clarifications, sounds like I should go through the tickets and do some voting/adding.
What I'm referring to is the button shown on this page: http://www.wowace.com/addons/skg/images/5-bid-panel/
I would expect it to be used in cases where the master looter for some reason needed to override somebody and tell them they can't bid. I don't foresee this being something our raid would need to do, so it isn't much of an issue, I was just hoping for a clarification on how it worked or verification that it isn't working.
NYI. There's stub code in there to allow. Its one of those things that I thought might be needed, it got back burnered, and then noone asked me to put the code in to make it work. *grin*
I've read through this forum, and a lot of the help. I have been known to not see things right in front of me, so please forgive me for asking a question that seems to be common knowledge.
How can I add another "admin" to SKG? Or add it to a certain rank?
Please read the following page for details on how to change the Guild Info panel to add/remove admins:
I just wanted to pop in here and say that the new 3.2.1-beta version with Guild Info authentication is working GREAT! We've successfully raided two or three weeks in a row with absolutely no problems. Everyone has kept their permissions and we've smoothly been able to keep in sync even through discos without losing any information. Fantastic work, thank you SO much for fixing that for everyone, Zhinjio!! /hug
3.2.1-beta released a few minutes ago. This implements the new security model, and you will be reminded of that by a popup in-game. As mentioned in the thread above, this definitely changes the manner in which Syncer status is granted (as well as removing the now obsolete "P" and "A" security ranks). Please go here for details on the new security:
I am the GM of my guild and we use SKG and went to update it and now my skg is completely black??? I can't get it to work at all .. My proxy can still use his but he is only shows as proxy while in a raid group, all other times it shows him as User.. How can I fix this. I've tried everything I can think of like removing it from my addon's and wow folder, rebooting and starting wow again then logging out downloading it again and then restarting to log in.. HELP??!!?? Please lol
I would recommend waiting a couple of days, and then moving to the version that supports the new security method. I should be posting that as beta in a day or so. That should *at least* fix problems of the security settings changing on your users/admins/etc. Once that is resolved, we can try an address whatever else is still happening.
My main testing for this branch is now complete. I'm going to be merging in with the main trunk over the next day and doing one final round of tests to make sure the merge didn't bork something else up. Expect a new beta sometime in the next ... say, 72 hours or so.
The recent commit added in the AceLibrary embed, but didn't update the embeds.xml file to load it. Have a couple guild members with no other addons who mentioned getting an error in Dewdrop.

Wow! Its MC Frontalot! And... you're welcome.

Yup, it was on the list to add, but thanks for ticketing it. It'll keep me honest.

So there it sits on the back burner.
