If you'd have turned of Blessing of Freedom in the tooltip, it'd stop casting, or untick yourself in raid popup, same result. You can also tell it to not learn the spell in future.

Except Blessing of Freedom is nowhere to be found. I checked under selfbuffs and "bufftehraid" where the rest of my blessings are, and could not locate it. Hard to tell it not to learn the spell if it's not presented as an option.

It's been a crazy week, and raids are almost done with. I'll give it another try this weekend when I wipe all my mods and start over. At least then I won't be pissed off because I'm tanking hyjal waves and removing my kings constantly. :)

You CAN do that yes. I'm not sure WHY you would want him to waste all that time clicking around with it. Sort out class roles in ZOMG, then 1 click on the Gererate button should sort out 99% of buffing needs without any effort.

But if he likes clicking, it'll do it.

A yes or no would have been fine. I'm sure you love your mod and think it's the best thing in the world, but that doesn't mean I have the right to force it on someone else. :)

In any case, we tested it tonight in a group, and I didn't get an update from him... hell, I can't even get it to stop trying to buff blessing of freedom on me. This is "out of the box". The only thing I changed was to check Righteous Fury under selfbuffs, thinking it would tell me when to buff it. (it didn't)

Just to get a clarification... I see all over the thread where people are reporting that you can make changes in ZMGB and see them distributed to players running pally power... but does that work in reverse?

If my raid leader is running Pally Power, and I'm running ZMGB, will I look like just another pally power user to him? Can he set my blessings and have it propogate to my ZMGB without any intervention on my part?

We generally have just one officer paladin set buffs for the rest of the paladins, so I need to make sure it will function like I had PallyPower as far as him setting us up is concerned.

Perhaps I've got it configured incorrectly (I have both "party" and "raid" checked) but it would be nice to see the output be situationally aware. e.g if I'm in a raid, output goes to raid. If I'm in a regular group, output goes to party.

Last night, I was outputting to both raid and party at the same time.

I can now confirm that OptiTaunt works well for paladins :)

We were in kara tonight, and I taunted some taunt immune mobs... saw the alert. Tossed my shield at the magic immune wyrms... saw the alert.

    Was pretty nice.

I had some shield throws that missed, and did not get reported. Afterwards, I was looking at the config menu and noticed that "check aggro" was enabled, so I suspect they did not get announced, because when the shield was tossed, the boss was already proximity pulled, and heading to me.

I've disabled the option for now, but figured I'd report back as I said I would. :)

I would be glad if a paladin could test this. While testing please remember that OptiTaunt might not announce a resisted taunt because of the "Check aggro" option. :-)

Heading to ZA tonight. I never thought I'd say this but... Hopefully I'll see some missed taunts and shield throws. :)

You say you don't want to mess with what works for you. Why choose to manually update an addon that's working great with no issues, then?

That's all I'm saying. I'm being civil and would appreciate if you would do the same in your responses to me. (PS: I don't have a car, actually.)

I am being civil. I edited my content before anyone, including you, saw it. I'm sorry, I just don't have much patience for anyone who views the world in nice little boxes with boundaries, and says "this stuff over here, can never mingle with this stuff over there... and if you do this, you can never do that." Do you own anything at all? Just because you don't need to replace something, it doesn't mean you abandon it to rot. Although, I'm sure you understood perfectly well what I was getting at. But, since you asked... I update because once or twice a month I can open wowaceupdater, hit F12 and have the proverbial oil changed with minimal effort on my part. I prefer to play the game, not spend 45 minutes locating mods and seeing if there are critical updates, or just cosmetic changes I don't care about.

You're using an extremist viewpoint regarding my own irrelevant mod update habits, to completely take focus away from the original issue: Someone INTENTIONALLY broke a mod on the SVN. Furthermore, nothing came of it beyond the uproar. He still has access to the SVN, and is more than free to go break whatever mod he doesn't want other people to use next. No matter how you feel about anarchy, letting it run wild in a code-sharing environment is dangerous. Apparently, this is something that Tekkub understands, since he's hinted more than once that it is part of the reason his code is not hosted here. (at least, that's how I read it)

Ok, so there's the debate over the TOC update. I actually agree with Tekkub, in that one shouldn't update a mod for nothing more than a simple TOC change. It isn't necessary, and creates excess bandwidth that could have been avoided. That being said, and tossing opinions aside, there isn't a "rule" in place that dictates how and when a mod on the SVN can be updated, but there IS a rule about intentionally updating with broken code.

In any case, I've switched to tK, which also does just what I need it to do. I only wish I'd switched under less hostile circumstances, but things are always what they are, and nothing more or less.

That's great! If EQCompare does everything you need and works perfectly for you, then you can definitely stick with it! So why update it? It's working just fine, right? Go grab the last version that worked for you, and set your updater to ignore the addon. Problem solved.

If you want to make the "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" argument, you shouldn't be running an automatic updater on all of your addons, which is the only reason this "sabotage" even affected you.

So... you never check the oil in your car, I take it? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! You should try looking at the world in something other than black and white [ Removed the rest of the sentence. Much better to be civil. :) ]

I do not run an "auto-updater" I run a program that I manually launch about once or twice a month to facilitate updating the mods I'm currently happy with, because I'd rather not have to go download each one individually. Or is that now taboo in this increasingly corrupt elitist environment?

I updated OptiTaunt to include announcements like shield wall, etc. - although big wigs common aura seems to be a better way to notice things like that.

Hm, as far as I'm concerned, there are dozens of stun effects out there. It would be difficult to catch them all. I'm afraid this would be too much work for only a small benefit. :-)

I've had this installed for a few days now (Paladin tank) and either I've not had a taunt resisted, or it isn't working right for paladins... I'll go with the "I haven't had a taunt resisted" mindset, I think. :)

Okey so question for all you stubborn EQC lovers. What is it that keeps you in that mod that tK doesn't have? I'm not asking about the bugs induced by CowTip and the old TinyTip here, I'm asking features EQC provides that tK doesn't.

EQC does exactly what I want it to do, and nothing more: provides current equipped item tooltip next to new item tooltip for easy comparison. I don't care if the code isn't deemed totally super cool by the super cool police, and I don't care if it hasn't been updated in over a year or 5 years. It works. It does what I need it to do. I haven't even needed to THINK about my comparison mod for almost a year now, until someone committed an act of sabatoge to force it to break.

If it isn't broken for me, and it does exactly what I want it to do, why should I go looking for something to replace it? Do you buy a new car every year, just because the new 2008 model has 1 more mpg or a fancier looking cruise control button? I doubt it. Especially since you yourself have declared an "If it isn't broken, why bother touching it" attitude. Sadly, the rest of us can only be stubborn if we choose the same outlook.

Sorry, Daelic, I tried. I moved to PT3Bar for the same reason as you. What I did was, since AutoBar uses PT3 as well, I went through it's categories to add those to PT3Bar. Hence the Spells.Portal However, I am stuck with an error, and I can't figure out how to solve it.

[2007/10/27 02:56:11-1024-x1]: PT3Bar-1.0\PT3Bar.lua:552: bad argument #1 to 'next' (table expected, got nil)
    AceAddon-2.0-46764 (Ace2):927: in function <Interface\AddOns\Ace2\AceAddon-2.0\AceAddon-2.0.lua:920>
    <in C code>: ?

    AceEvent-2.0-49307 (Ace2):962: in function <Interface\AddOns\Ace2\AceEvent-2.0\AceEvent-2.0.lua:955>

Anyone wanna help out? I'd appreciate it.

Perhaps start a thread on PT3 configs?

Hrm.. It might be a custom category that Toadkiller made for autobar, that would make sense. I'll check out his source to see how he did it.

If I can come up with a solution, I'll certainly share it.

I appreciate the effort, however the Misc.Mount.* categories do not include summoned mounts. Summoned mounts are spells, not items, and therein lies my problem.

As for the second suggestion re: mounts, those are the spellID's. PT3Bar translates these into ItemID's, so they actually define as follows:

    13819: Balanced War Axe
    34769: Nothing
    23214: Plump Helboar Carcass
    34767: Nothing

I will try Spell.Portals tonight, but I don't really expect it to work since I could not find that category in PT3. I've got a feeling that what I'm asking for isn't possible, since PT3bar seems to only care about items. If there is a magical way to get spell ID's to work in PT3, I could create my own categories in my OtherConfig.lua, but I didn't see a way to do that.

Considering the fact that Autobar has turned into a big ball of suck lately, I was hoping I could get PT3Bar to replace it, but that's not possible if I can't put class utility spells (Summoned mounts & Portals) on a button.

posted a message on Combuctor: All in one, filterable displays for your inventory and bank
    Quote from FlashBuster »

As longtime ArkInventory-User, i recently switched to Combuctor, to test it.
I really like it, except for some things:
    - bank-window to small
    - i couldnt figure out how to make the font smaller. I have two big scaled buttons (scale=1.7 or 2) and it looks quite horrible with those huge texts
    - no access to my bank-items outside of the bank (the bank-button in arkinventory, or in many other addons)
    - Icons can become too big

He's working on making the bank window better, and the icon issue.

As for accessing your bank items when not at the bank, there is a keybind you can configure via the standard blizzard keybind screen. I have mine set to CTRL-B.

    Quote from FlashBuster »

Probably offtopic: Is there an addon that sorts my bagitems? I'm used to have the items "bundled" (e.g. poisons right next to each other).

mr. plow works wonderfully for this.

Uhm Mounts and portals can be added. You write the config yourself.

Portals is something in the lines of Mage.Spells.Portals .. I can't think of it right now, but it's in the Periodic Table.

Yup, I've been writing a class based config, I just didn't see anything for summoned mounts & portals in PT3browser and didn't know if it would be there at all since they are spells rather than items.

I'll grep the PT lua directly for what I need, thanks!

edit: I've searched through datacompressed.lua and found nothing in relation to portals, summoned mounts, or even class spells of any sort. I pulled down PT3 from files.wowace.com specifically for this search.
