    - integrated energy ticker module
kenergy is good - but icehud showed us a nice way to get rid of this extra bar (slider in background of manabar).

I'm planning on doing a more modular version of kEnergy, with a module for the timer bar, a module for a 'heartbeat' sound, and modules to do unobtrusive tick displays in unitframes. I expect that I'll write a PitBull module for a tick over the bar, and make it do a "dumb" tick if kEnergy isn't installed, but if it is, have it disable the kEnergy timer bar module and let kEnergy drive its ticks, so it can have the adjusted tick for latency stuff that kEnergy does. Would that meet your needs?

Feature request: add the current number of applied charges on the target to the deadly/wound poison bar. It won't always be perfectly accurate either, but it'll be no worse than the current behavior. For those that don't use envenom all the time, it can be useful to know the current # of charges to determine whether to envenom or evis. Better to see it than hit envenom and find that you had no poison to consume :) I was planning on adding a display of the applied charges to kEnergy, and did some rudamentary proc stuff the way you do.. but it makes no sense for us both to do it, and it's a much better fit, functionality wise, for ticktoxin.

The tick timing issues people have been running into are now fixed in current svn. I apologize for it, I had screwed something up in one of the cleanup commits a while back, and I've been playing my hunter lately, so didn't notice. Thanks for the bug reports. Once I was able to reproduce it, and checked out the energy log, it quickly became obvious what I had messed up :)

    [2007/03/22 06:37:15-215-x1]: Quixote-1.0-29931 (nQuestLog):591: attempt to index local 'q' (a nil value)

At times when zoning. Has anyone else seen this? nQuestLog appears to be passing nil to one of the Quixote GetQuest methods.

Indeed. To those having problems with the tick time not being accurate (either too fast, or too slow), see my most recent reply (with instructions to gather the information I need to fix the problem) on the official kEnergy thread. Thanks.

I'm having problems with kEnergy not showing the right tickoffset? Is this a known bug?

I've not heard of any tick time issues at all with the current version. If you're able to reproduce a problem, enable debugging at debuglevel 2 or higher, play until you reproduce the issue, and send me your kEnergy savedvariables.

    Take a look at Bartender3: http://wowace.com/wiki/Bartender3

In the original post, he specifically mentions that "no huge makeovers for him". Bartender is a substantial interface change, as it ditches the main bar art and the rest. He just wants some extra buttons.

A friend is looking for a simple bar mod that will add just 3-5 bar slots on screen that may/ may not be moveable in addition to Blizz bars. He is trying not not use anything major....no huge make overs for him. Just wants to free up a few slots....Autobar seems a bit much for him ( I have tried to convince him)

I don't think its ace, but cogwheel's CogsBar addon works fairly well. See its page on wowinterface.com.

"What do you mean? kEnergy has a color option.."

Yes sure but not for the background like other mods. You only actually can change the bar color not the background, cyan one by default.

Ah! Right then, I'll add a background color option when I go to add the border option. I'm just glad the energy ticking logic is finally happy.. Frankly I was getting sick of working on an addon that should be simple :)

I'll likely get those features in this weekend sometime.

    Thanks for the suggestions folks.

Should make it compatible with Carto if it isn't already.

GuildMap is quite inefficient. Ask ck, he was looking at it when he wrote the superior GuildPositions stuff in cart.

    KERGOTH:

The day you prove to me that WoW errors out on such a file is the day I will care. Meanwhile get yourself a real editor ok. This is not a debate, I will be reverting all your changes. Please stick to whatever mod it is that you maintain and away from AutoBar.

    Please read http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=4497.msg79472#msg79472

If that does not explain it well enough for you, too bad. There is now a pre-commit hook in place to prevent adds of new text files without the svn:eol-style property, and the SVN_Rules page has been updated as appropriate. I suggest you read the updated rules.

Since you clearly don't know who I am, I'll fix that for you. I was one of the few individuals involved in designing Ace2, along with cladhaire and ckknight and a few others. I wrote 95% of the Ace2 object model as a generically useful object model for Lua developers (which is why it is MIT licensed now, not LGPL). The fact that most of my addons are relatively small in scope and popularity does not mean I'm a fool. I regularly advise people on improving the efficiency of their Lua code.

I'm far from a guru, but given the nature of your blatent hostility, I feel the need to defend myself. I was instrumental in advising the creation of the wowace svn in the first place, and in the creation of the wowace irc channels, as I knew the benefit from my experience in numerous other open source projects. If you'd like more information, see http://covenant.kergoth.com/resume.pdf.

    KERGOTH:

If your name is Kergoth, please do not ever touch any AutoBar or any other files belonging to mods I host on this site. "Fixing" line endings so that I have to waste 10 minutes trying to do a checkin is not very funny buddy. My time, while freely spent on AutoBar, is nevertheless valuable to me. You do not get another warning. Next time I see you check something in I will lock all the files & then nobody but me will be able to make changes.

It is quite clear that numerous developers using the svn, including yourself, know absolutely nothing about proper svn use. The day the developers educate themselves and ensure that no more files with both dos and unix line endings exist, I'll stop fixing their screwups. Do let me know when you've gained that knowledge.

If your reported inaccuracies occur immediately after a login, revision 25676 may have taken care of it. The problem is that at first login, we have no point of reference, so if the first few times are badly lagged, itll use that to calculate the initial standard deviation, and end up throwing out all the good values thinking they're bad. It comes down to the fact that I only maintain a few individual values over time, not a queue of times, for cleanliness and simplicity. 25676 weights our default tickoffset of 0 so that the first few bad values would be thrown out rather than hosing the average. Please test.
