Just to clarify something - I went back and looked at all the backups I have of my UI packs as far back as last year when I started using Phanx's mods. This wasn't an issue from the version I uploaded in July ( last version on Curse) and the first version I found with the change to the README stating the license was in mid October. Ignorance is no excuse and obviously there was a change in how she wanted this mod handled so that was my fault for not noticing.
I don't mind being the "straw that broke the camel's back" and in the end if it helps the issue then it's accomplishing something. I just find it rather unfortunate that it has turned into the situation that you find the need to be so angry and frustrated about this. I haven't tbh kept up with much of the issues in the mod community over the past few mpnths as I have in the past due to RL issues but clearly in looking back at some posts made this is a sensitive issue :(.
Look at my longer post again. I clearly quoted someone else who asked what the fuss was about. I'd also posted here before I sent you the PM. Regardless, I disagree that it is an "innocent mistake". Ignorance and innocence are not synonyms. I'm tired of seeing new compilations pop up every day with my addons in them. I don't know how much clearer I can make it that I do not want my addons in compilations. It's in the README. It's in the TOC. It's in comments in the Lua. It's on the download page. What else can I do? People don't read anything.
I send out a dozen PMs a week asking people to remove my addon(s) from their compilation, and every response I get boils down to the same thing: "sorry, I didn't know." I'm tired of it. I'm sorry if you feel like you're being singled out here, but sending private messages to individual uploaders does nothing to stem the tide. Maybe public shaming will help. I don't know. If you have some better suggestion on how I can get people to read, I'd love to hear it.
I clearly did read your post but chose to respond regardless as the way you handled the situation bothered me.
Obviously there really was no point in you bothering to send me a pm when you had already posted here and my removing the mods as requested didn't matter.
I'm honestly baffled as to why you felt the need to use me as the "public example" you have with the community at large but whatever. Lesson learned and going forward it will not happen again.
Sorry to get this post off -topic guys, I won't post anymore on it.
I don't get it - I upload a new UI for the first time in almost 6 months and basically get made an example of for making an innocent mistake. Phanx you sent me a PM asking to remove your mod - which is promptly did and had no problem with the request as it was more than warranted. Why was it then necessary to make a post here and carry on the issue.
I don't as a rule upload compilations unless I get the most recent versions avail and go through painstaking time to minimize problems for the user and as such not make it an issue for the mod developer. I rushed uploading this one - so it's my fault for missing a few. I'm not a mod writer and certainly don't envy the job but definitely have great appreciation for what you guys do. That being said this is also part of the reason why I have very little motivation to upload UI's anymore and tbh don't know if I ever will again after this. Seems not worth the effort.
Sav, c'mon, read the damn READMEs or even the download page before you upload other people's addons without asking. Not everyone licenses under the GPL or wants their addons included in compilations (*cough*PhanxChat*cough*). You know about this stuff. >_<
Sorry I fixed it - been using your mods for so long that I didn't think about it when I packaged it. My apologies :(.
How do you get things so pixel perfect? Unitframes etc. I have never been able to achieve this no matter how hard I tried.
Very selective of the font resolution as it bugs me if they are fuzzy. Beyond that not much else and tbh still find it is not sharp enough :o - need a new computer with better video card.
Savantido, could you please tell me where you got that gorgeous wallpaper on your computer? Thankyou :D Also which version of linux is that?
Not Linux but BBClean for Windows with Organic Style. The wallpaper is from an artist I like that did the artwork for the old ps2 game MagnaCarta. Here is is what is fully looks like.
