posted a message on JWowUpdater - A new java addons updater for ace2
Been using JWoWupdater for a while now.... thanks for bringing sanity to the mod update grind.

Something has messed me up in the last week or so, not sure if this was posted already (I looked but didn't see anything relevant). Seems to get confused on certain mods and just attempts to retry over and over.... until I abort the process.

Any ideas? Are there config files that might be hanging around in other folders? from previous installed I did. Willing to do a clean install if this is the trick.

I am running Vista, Java Version 6 Update 5 with JWoWUpdater.

Here is a cut and paste from the UI, while it spits out the errors.

Babble-2.2 was external version, but no-ext flag is set. Scheduling for update.
BigWigs was external version, but no-ext flag is set. Scheduling for update.
Name: Babble-2.2 Your Version: 74512.0, Latest: 74512.0 (Out of date)

Name: BigWigs Your Version: 74481.0, Latest: 74481.1 (Out of date)
    Updating....Error: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\BigWigs\bigwigslod.bat (Access is denied)

******** Checking if split addons need updating ********
    ******* Starting SplitUpdate *******

Edit Update: I tried to set permission on Folder (removing the read only attribute) but that didn't help. I also manually downloaded the mods in question and reran JWoWUpdater and it complains about same thing, so something is messed up and my end or somewhere else? Funny thing, it seems to only be these two mods, because the last time I ran the updater, it detected Threat-2.0 needing an update and proceeded to complete without any issues for that mod, but of course failed on the others (BigWigs and Babble-2.2)

The version on SVN is 73218, so the version you loaded is most likely not compatiable with WoW 2.4. Did you get it from files.wowace.com?

IMO, the old version on files.wowace.com should be removed or have a warning stating it doesn't work in 2.4 and a new version is under development.

Rotation of Bars? Like Vertical Bars? Just change the amount of Rows. 1 Row = Horizontal, 12 Rows = Vertical, anything in between = A cube!
    Thanks, working on that now!

    Cool.

Yeah, was on the way back to post including the point on rotation of bars -- hehe.

    Observation:
    1) I think by default, Bars 7, 8, 9, and 10 are non-enabled. If you are not familar with stealth mode uses Bar 8, then you will wonder how to setup your actions. I figured it out, but for some, it might be useful to label these Bars, or put something in the FAQ. I was thinking, if you are a class that can shapeshift, stealth or stance switch, then attention would be highlighted for the user to configure these bars, if they have no actions added. Just a thought for making BT4 more intuitive.

Edit Update: When I made the above comment, it was before I dug deeper into the configuration option Re: State Configuration on each Bar. So my comment above is not too relevant, except for the possibly of an FAQ tip.

    Just loaded and testing.
    Impressed so far.

    Observations:

    1) I assume rotation of bars is planned within the upcoming alignment feature?
    2) Not sure the option to "hide tooltip in combat" is working.

    Druid stats not working?

    Defense = 401 - 2.04% reduction on crits
    Resilience = 50 - 1.27 reduction on crits
SoTF Talent = Yes - 3.0% reduction on crits
    =============
    - 6.31 % (i should be uncrittable)

But, if I target the following mobs, this is the value shown by mod:

    Lvl 72 2.8
    Lvl 71 2.6
    Lvl 70 2.4

So, I guess the talent SoTF is not working or something else is not working right.

posted a message on Chinchilla - Minimap addon of awesomeness.
Grats on an awesome replacement to SimpleMiniMap.

I noticed that you are providing a lot of "frame movers". I did find an issue using the quest frame mover. It seems to reset the position. I might be doing something wrong, but has this been reported?

Also, on the subject of frame movers, would it be possible to get a frame mover for positioning the default blizzard 'tooltip help box". Currently I use CTmod (old school) for this feature. Its the only feature I use from this entire mod (lol), so if Chinchilla was to add this feature, then I could retire CTmod.

    Again, nice work.

Oh and a question! OmniCC adds a texttimer onto the auras (such as "30", "2m" and so on) and I was wondering if it was possible to tack on the "<CooldownFrame>.noomnicc = true", provided by Tuller to disable it, in my seperate Layout-file? Or can it only be done via editing auras module?

I think in OmniCC u can adjust the show timers based on the global scale of icons, so if u don't want the timers to show on auras, its easy to filter with OmniCC. Don't see the need to have ag_UF handle all these integration issues with other mods, imo.

Ah, I get it.... thanks for the clarification. We can point to Blizzard and their use of combat keywords, if we have any future confusion.

It's working as intended and it works very well.

    Thanks Grayhoof, ED is awesome!!!

D'oh! I've always understood the Target column to contain damage done to the Target and Player column to contain damage done to the Player.

If I understand you correctly the columns are not based by the target of damage but the source of damage, which is illogical from my (as a user) point of view :( IMO all damage done to me should be in the player column independently of the source.

Take a look at player healing - it all goes to the player column even if it's cast by me or it is cast by any other healer.

As an example, Shadow Word: Death shows damage to the Target and then the recoil damage ends up showing on the Player column, so would this not be the same case as the OP's situation. Maybe a bug with this particular item's recoil damage?

Switching back to the topic of adding LibHealComm-3.0 to ag_UF.

Here is another example of a recent extension to PerfectRaid adding LHC. As I use PerfectRaid, atm for my raidframes, I have been testing this in 25m encounters. With a combination of VisualHeal it seems to be very usable and gives me the incoming healing.

As mentioned, integrating this into a single UI such as ag_UF would allow me to reduce my addons to just ag_UF (I could drop Perfectraid and VisualHeal from the mix)

Anyway, here is the link to that addon for some food for thought.
    http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info8324-PerfectRaidIncHeal.html

Looking forward to the new upgrade of agUF.

Thanks for all the hard work.

    edit: added link ;-)

In terms of LibHealComm-3.0, I have only been looking at Visual Heal (same author as the Lib development, I believe). It seems like a good standalone (minimalist) option for a non-healer to see incoming heals, and for players that don't use custom UF's.

This type of "heal bar" works fine for the active target, but of course doesn't show heal activity on the other raid members.

There is an active discussion on the VisualHeal(VH) thread about how to show 'overheals' incoming to a player frame. Currently VH shows the healing payload(s) as overlays to the health bar, such that if the incoming heal had no overheal it would show as "green", within the health bar frame. If any part of the incoming heal is overheal then that portion would show as "red" and extend past the health bar frame. This approach works fine for a standalone heal bar on the active target but it is a problem with raid frames that are in multi-columns. Anyway, they were talking about showing overheal as some type of visual display icon eg. "spark" at the end of health bar.

In general, I believe the main benefit of incorporating this type of LHC event data is not to optimize overhealing, because mana issues are not that big of a concern anymore and MT must stay up at the cost of inefficient healing. I think the real value is optimizing timely raid group healing (adhoc) where you have collateral damage and healers need to prioritze who needs a heal. With visual healing activity appearing on raid frames, healers can focus on who doesn't have incoming heals and minimize redundant heals.

The tweaking of how to show this type of activity is the trick. If its too complex healers might be unwilling to change their setups, or worse a complex display might undermine their reaction time.

So far, I think Pitbull, Grid and BunchoBars have or are integrating LHC into their frames. I don't have any insight into how these frames are showing data, but I do think in general this type of healing feedback would be welcome.

One question I would ask; if some of the healers only had LibHealComm-3.0 installed, would their healing events be transmitted to everyone, even though that healer doesn't benefit in seeing results. You know how difficult it is to get players to add something new to their favorite setups.

First off, thanks for the awesome work and I fully commend your development vision on keeping agUF lean and mean. I have been using the Ace2 version for a long while and love it.

On the new Ace3 SVN version, I might be jumping the gun a bit (reporting bugs), but thought I would post some of my observations. I was testing this on my rogue.

    Comments so far:
    a) can't seem to get ComboPoints to display. Maybe not working yet?
    b) are you planning to support LibHealComm-3.0?
    c) observed the following errors (from buggrabber's log)
