Anyone else using the client in disembedded node? I am noticing a slight peculiarity in dependency-resolution. It appears to -always- download the dependencies, even if the latest version of said dependency is already installed..
There's already an existing bug report about it (or should be, I put one in a few months ago about it, while the client was still in "you gotta ask kaelten for a link" alpha stage.
Xin, 7k in this case, prolly means 7000kilobits/s, and 7000/8 is about 650kiB/s which is -way- more than 15kB/s
however, with my wife, and myself in AV (40 man pvp with 80 chars, tons of info goin back and forth when everyone is in the same place) We're barely hitting 15kB/s up and down, on my router.. for TWO of us.
Meh. If I enter combat without a target (eg I get aggro'd), then my target frame never shows up.
I've been using PB4 for quite some time now (as soon as the basic functionality was there..) and this problem is very new. I thought there was a correlation between my custom kgpanel (elite frames) setup, so I disabled it, no dice.

PS: Just to clarify. If I select a target, then engage in combat, everything works fine. But if I engage combat first, the target (and target of target) frame is never visible.
No.. and 2.1.1.10b1 doesnt work under wine, either.. and I havent booted into windows in a while (still futzin with tryin to get my custom kernel + nvidia driver to work)
Ubuntu is a big step in the direction of user-friendly linux. :P
Pre-fabbed installs aren't necessarily bad, it's not like Ubuntu inundates you with mounds of shite that's really not needed. And the removal and install of components is still easy peasy. Ubuntu's default install is just a default profile. ^__^
You're right, of course.. However for -my- tastes.. and that is what linux is all about. personal preference... and for my -desktop systems- I prefer Fedora, for -servers- I prefer plain-jane Debian.. For my "tweak machine" (which I no longer have..) I prefered Gentoo. :)
But all of this is OT.
Back to Windows 7, I tried it, it seems nice, but my card isn't well-supported, so until I get a little free cash I can dump into this box for some upgrades, I'll probably stick with Fed10 and XP.
nolib doesn't quite work right...... one of my addons has "libstub" as a "lib" and therefore the client tries to download it.. and downloads the latest "nolib" version of it.. which is nearly a year old, and doesnt work.... and breaks my entire ui..
Thats just 1 example. There's more :p
But it works -great- with "standard embedded addons" and it downloads and installs alphas just fine as well.
There's going to be a big, smokin hole in the ground where your house is! If you do it right, you should be able to boot all three, however, not quite like you envision it.
You'll only have one "windows" entry, and when you select it, you can choose "Windows 7" or "Previous version of windows"

I, personally, don't really like Ubuntu - I miss a "package selection" at install... if I want that kinda crap I'll install windows! :p
