It would make an interesting module, but built in no thanks. It's already growing too much past being a "lightweight" unit frame mod.
Modules can be disabled, deleted, whatever you want to do to 'em. That's the point of making it modular.

I was playing with the buff bar settings in Niagara. Thought I'd confirm the bug someone reported about buff bar anchoring (how it only anchors to the cast bar, no matter the setting). After witnessing that, I couldn't move the focus bars any more (though they were set to free and unlocked). So I thought I'd try to disable and reenable them. That wasn't doing anything either. So I tried disabling the whole buffs module - that did make them disappear and reappear when toggled, but still didn't fix the problem. (Sorry if this is rambling, I'm getting sleepy. :) )
    Which revision?

Hello nymbia, I want to give you an update on the Salt Shaker thing.

I took this image about 2 days ago, give or take, and while the Salt Shaker bar comes up, it looks much different than the usual merged bandage bar I'd get for first aid.

    http://www.jagobah.org/wow/quartz_salt_shaker.jpg

Here you'll notice that the bar is completely full, as oppose to filling up, while it counted from 0 to -25 instead of 25 to 0. I don't know if that's intentional or not, but I wanted to give you my heads up.

Also, the SS gives you a hint of other mods I may be running :)
Odd, I'll have to hijack a character with a salt shaker and check that out. My hunch is that it behaves like a tradeskill cast in some ways and a normal cast in others, which is confusing things.

I'll see about grabbing info from flight time addons ;)

    Thanks :)

Btw, I contacted the author (dhask) and this is what he had to say, in case it helps:
HunterZ, there is a simple hooking API in FlightMap to connect it to any kind of casting bar you like. You can either get the author of $your_favourite_castingbar_addon to add support directly, or if that addon is written in a way that makes it easy, you can write a glue addon to connect the two.

All the details are in README.txt in the FlightMap distribution.

This is how eCB supports FlightMap -- I don't explicitly support any particular casting bar addon.

Edit: I tried to hack Chronometer to support FlightMap's flight timer, but I can't seem to get it to work. I'll just have to wait and hope that Quartz integrates with it eventually :P

Edit 2: Got it working with Chronometer for now :D If anyone is interested I can probably move it to a separate glue addon.
Good info, I'll get something put together soon :)

Not sure if there was a feature request for this or not:

For the player casting bar: I would love to see an option to toggle the bar for channeled spells so that it will descend (grow smaller / count downward), but still grow upward for regular spells. It just gives me a better indication of when those channeled spells will complete, as well as a different feel for channeled spells over cast spells.

How so? You have to set up the spells to check for GCD on either one character of each class, or else perhaps all characters, but that's no massive burden. The rest of the options should be the same for all characters, right?

If I set one spell in the default profile, say on my hunter, but my paladin doesn't have that spell, I can't use it as a DEFAULT profile anymore, no? Meaning, set it and forget it. If there's a better way, or I'm simply misunderstanding how this works, please let me know.
GCD stores spells per-character, not per-profile. If it's not working like that, let me know.

    Nice addon. :)

Found a couple problems with the Buff Module on the Test Server. The Anchor Frame setting for Focus seems to be stuck on Player, regardless of what I change the setting to. Also, I noticed the Buff Module stops functioning (no bars show up) if I set the Anchor Frame to Free, then set it to Unlock. Doesn't matter if I set it back to Lock or change the Anchor Frame setting, it stops working once it's Unlocked.

posted a message on [Request] Ace profiles flexibility change
The implementation in question would need to be in AceDB -- profile is set on a per-addon basis (down to and including modules of that addon).

I can imagine a few ways to implement this on a code-level, but not without introducing a ton of extra overhead. And I don't even know where to begin as far as letting someone actually set it up in a sane sort of way.

    2v2 Arena points: 665
as I said I dunno if it's within the scope but since this is an addon to help calculate arena games a projected point calculator seems to fit.

It's just new info returned by the buff/debuff functions, they don't give us the id. However, you're right in thinking that chronometer-style addons will benefit from this, there's a couple up on svn.wowace.com already.

    Getting a lot of:

Swing.lua 147: attempt to perform arithmetic on upvalue 'starttime' (a nil value)

Character's a paladin. Hasn't happened on any others. Kind of wondering if it has anything to do with my seals and judgements not affecting the swing timer. Perhaps not.
Yup, it had to do with attack speed changes when not attacking. Should be fixed.

While I would encourage you not to abandon the swing timer (as I read you think it's frivilous) I can tell you two instances where it's crucial to develop an intuitive sense about when your swings are going off. It's important for me to judge on my paladin after I swing (or at least before the next) and on my warrior to start a slam after I've just landed a swing. The frivolity you think exists is lacking, promise promise. I know I appreciate the work you've put in on it so far. Just don't put yourself out too much as I can only imagine how difficult it is to simulate. You've done an INCREDIBLE job so far, imo.
Apologies for not being clear -- I think that having a timer for the offhand weapon is frivolous, I understand the importance of knowing your mainhand's timer :)

By the way, it should now be very solid as far as timing goes (pay attention to attack speed changes at let me know if they're accounted for correctly), however, it's disabled completely for dual-wielding characters at the moment. I want to get the single-weapon stuff just right before trying to get dual-wielding right.

I don't know if it's just me, but the casting bar disappears when I button-mash channeled spells (ie: Mind Flay). It's not so bad since there's a big blue line going at your target so you know you're still casting, but figured I should mention it :D
    Fixed.

Was just channeling a spell on my priest. The button mash problem is fixed for the Player cast bar but not the embedded latency timer. I don't know if that really matters all that much, but latency will disappear from the cast bar if you perform the same sort of button mashing.

Hrm, hopefully fixed in the next version.

EDIT: One odd thing I noticed is that while using the default profile, the latency timer was on the wrong side of the bars (i.e. left side for casts, right for channels) and was corrected when I switched to a class-specific profile. This was from a fresh extraction before modifying anything.
Toggling the 'embed' option in the Latency options toggles this behavior.

Nice job on the Swing module. It might be more trouble than it's worth, and I'm not completely positive that I even care to have it for myself, but it might be good to have two bars for dual wielders. In any case, don't do it just for me because while it's good for hunters and 2-h wielders, it's not that helpful to a dual wielder.
Yeah, that's the reason I didn't implement it in the first place, seems kinda frivolous (and very difficult to get accurate)

When does the timer reset? Be as specific as possible, as I don't have a hunter, so I'd like to get it right the first time ;)
    Quote from Adeligkrigar »

Maybe it could be possible for the swing timer to auto-correct or reset itself when if/when it sees an auto-attack/shoot before the bar has completed. The timer just seems to tick based on weapon speed and adjust based on attack speed modifiers; I don't really know how it works but maybe it could be a little more dynamic? I dunno, still likin' Quartz :)
Auto-shot should be pretty good all the time (except in the case of aimed shot). The melee code misses swings sometimes due to the current (bad) attempt at ignoring offhand swings.
