    Its SharedMedia not SharedMedia2 or any other version, just plain simple SharedMedia all the others are obselete and as far as i know should be removed.


    edit: bleh, i just added my fonts to SM directly.

    A few patches ago something broke, and now Cowtip isn't loading(?) SharedMedia2.0 or whatever. I have my clearfont2 font pack registered to both SM2 and 3 and. On one of the updates it broke with pitbull and then it was fixed fast, however it hasn't been fixed so far with Cowtip? Anything I could change in the code to make it work?

    Ah! You're right, i don't know why i thought it was updating - perhaps i saw it on the list as downloadable for some reason.

    I'll give Tiptac a try too.

    I removed the folders you guys specified, I think I installed threat/candybar for something and just forgot it over time. I'm working on collapsing my font packs into one while eliminating some of the fonts I don't use. I also replaced Tinytooltip with Cowtip.

    I'm not sure however if OmniCC is old but it seems to work still, I've been updating with WAU so i hope i got the latest version.

    I'm kinda dumb though, i initially thought PerformanceFu was only watching 3 addons and then i right clicked and found the option to enlarge the list. Now i can see which are causing the problem. QuestHelper was highest, and some of the auctioneer modules on some chars were left on (stuff like informant and so on)- i must have missed them I guess. I'm gonna keep monitoring stuff to see what needs to be removed or replaced.

    Thanks for the wonderful help though, if there's anything else though let me know - even though eventually i'll just have to just purge the addon folder and start from scratch.

    BTW, does removing the WTF folder actually do anything to increase performance? I've never done it so I'm curious - I would rather not but if its causing problems I will.

    maybe use less addons. this depends on your system and what addons you use and load when. load half of them and check again, load half of that etc. addons are supposed to slow down your sytem just as riding a bike with a heavy person sitting on the back makes _you_ slower mkay :p

    I posted this on the WoW forums for help, so forgive me for the copy paste

    I have been somewhat annoyed at slow loading times and some performance issues that have been present for some time now and which I believe are caused by addons. I came to this conclusion when I loaded without any addons and when i saw that my loading times were very fast and performance was adequate, however I have no idea which addons are causing both or either the slow loading times and the performance issues. Its particularly annoying in Shatt and Underbog where my performance seems to hit rock bottom.

    This is the list of my addons, before you click however I must mention that i only use auctioneer on my mule and that i never have it on the chars i play:

    I've been told to erase my WTF folder but I have yet to do it since i would have to reconfigure a lot of the stuff (like Pitbull) and also to defragment my hard disks which I'm in the process of doing.

    If anyone here can please help me by pointing out which addons are bad for performance and/or tell me if i can replace them with others that do not have that big of an impact on my performance I would greatly appreciate it.
