    posted a message on perl script updateing addons from /files/
    Thanks a lot for this script. I was just before writing this myself before I accidently found this thread ;)

    For those of you running WoW under Linux here are some notes:

    1. Installation

    Install the required modules. You need superuser privileges to do this.

    sudo perl -MCPAN -e 'install XML::Dumper'
    sudo perl -MCPAN -e 'install Archive::Zip'

    If this isn't working try opening a cpan shell

    sudo perl -MCPAN -e 'shell'

    from within the cpan shell perform a "install XML::Dumper" and after this "install Archive::Zip". After this leave the cpan shell with "quit".

    Making the script executable
    Add the following to the first line of the file
    #!/usr/bin/perl -w

    After this do a chmod 755 on the file
    chmod 755 ~/example_path/wow_ace_updater.pl

    2. Configuration
    Change the Addons Path in the file to the location where your addons reside. (Can be found in line 8 or 9)
    For example:
    my $addondir = qq(/home/kyrios/.cxofficebeta/WoW/drive_c/Program Files/World of Warcraft/Interface/Addons);

    Perhaps this helps someone ;)
