to my understanding, the only way to track automatically if players outside of a raid go offline or online is if they are on your friends list and you receive the notifications.
I know via the interface options (Guild Member Alert under Social), a notification can be displayed for guild members as well. I don't know if this is different then the friends list notifications. If this can be used I think it would be a reasonable solution as it is not going to be very often that non-guild members that are being tracked for standby.
If it's not easily possible, it's not a major issue request. But, it would be nice!
BTW, your addon (and its xml output) has inspired me to brush up and practice my php skills by writing a new web management system. EQDKP is too clunky for the way my guild does points (specifically the way it does multipart (hourly) raids.) :)
There are limitations to tracking players if they aren't in the raid group. That being said, I am planning on adding waitlist functionality so members outside of the raid group can be tracked but not actually be in the raid itself.
This would allow players outside of the raid to be tracked (standby players). The standby players can then do whatever they need to do outside of the raid group (PvP, quest, etc.) yet still be tracked as being in attendance for a given raid.
Would this waitlist be able to track login/logoffs of the standby people with at least a timestamp of such event. I know a chatbox message is displayed for guild/friends, so I assume there is an event fired somewhere.
Basically, our DKP system is setup so points are accrued for being online for the majority of a time interval (either in raid, easy to track; or on standby, annoying to track.) So, if the addon could at least just give a timestamp of log in/outs it would simplify my life a ton.
Just found this addon last night and it looks great so far. This would just be icing on the cake! :D
I noticed you said you will not add a time based tracking. Any specific reasons? This sounds promising. I'm currently using CTRT with a importer plugin for doing time based tracking. I assume the exporter with this addon would work the same, so you not doing time based tracking isn't a huge deal.
Having an issue with itemlinks. It's showing the item quality color on the left '[' only. Then the actual itemname is grey. This is using latest version as of WAU today. This isn't always either, sometimes it is working, other times it does this coloring issue.
