    Well, I've tried changing everything, but regardless of what I do, my mod won't update. If I change a message it sends, it doesn't apply in game. I'll probably restart it as a whole, because there were a few functions that didn't work. Thanks for the tips, They'll help the second go round <.<

    Quote from Arkayenro
    youre using source in all the logic checks but using name in the send?

    also, where does reason come from?

    ie have you set both of those elsewhere? and how? (basically post the whole chunk of code, its easier)

    can you just use source and list[source].reason (its a table of some sort so just guessing) instead?

    eg UnitName("player").." is ignoring you. Reason: "..list[source].reason

    I have 'reason' and 'name' predefined based on what the user inputs earlier in the code, that part is working correctly, however I'm not sure how to make it automatically reply to a person that is found as being ignored when they whisper me. Whether or not I can use use source instead I am not sure, I'm fairly new and know little to none, but I'm hoping I can get by with what I have.

    In short, yes they are predefined and I don't know if I can use source instead. :X

    --EDIT--
    Forgot the code, one minute.

    --EDITx2--
    function AddIgnore(name)
    if(not list) then
    return orig_AddIgnore(name);
    end
    local n,r = splitargs(name)
    if not n then return end
    return JustSTFU_AddIgnore(n, r)
    end

    The reason one is similar, but again I know that part is working.

    Thanks Zidomo, sometimes I see this message and it makes me a bit afraid of who it might be :P Now I won't have to wonder.

    I hadn't been reloading my UI aside from completely exiting and reopening the game. I'll keep that in mind because it was starting to get on my nerves with all the exiting every few minutes haha. Thanks though, I'll change the strings and reload my UI.

    --EDIT--
    Tried just reloading my UI in game, but to no avail. Maybe I'm saving it wrong or something :s

    --EDITx2--
    Changed the strings, and saved it, again though the message itself is the same as it was previously.

    Status: UNSOLVED

    So I have a little experience with coding and I've got lots of what I want to do done, but I have encountered two errors.

    First, here's a bit of a quick overview of what my AddOn does. It's designed to allow the user to give a reason for why they ignored someone, and instead of the default "<name> is ignoring you." it will say something like "This user is ignoring you. Reason: <reason>"

    I don't plan on circulating this, until I can fully code it myself because at the moment I have bits from about 10 different AddOns and that wouldn't be right or fair, it's just a learning process for me, so don't think I'm stealing anything I really do have an intention to recode it once I learn a bit more.

    Error 1:

    So far it allows you to give a reason, but it won't respond to that person with the reason.

    What I have (Please note I'm very new to this, and may have started over my head):

    if (event == "CHAT_MSG_WHISPER" and list and type(source)=="string" and source~="" and type(list[source])=="table") then SendChatMessage("This user is ignoring you. Reason:"reason,"WHISPER",nil,name)
    end

    (This should respond if someone that is on the ignore list that is compiled whispers me, saying "This user is ignoring you. Reason: <Whatever reason is entered beforehand, this part should work>. In a whisper to the person who whispered you.

    HOWEVER, I can't attest to whether or not this works because of my next error.

    Error 2:

    After saving my .lua folder, If I make a change to something I know works, and that isn't located anywhere else in the script, it won't work. For example, when I whisper someone it lets me know I am ignoring them in the text I sent locally (I see it, they don't, IDK if I'm using the correct terminology.) In my example I reworded the part that it shows me, but when I run my AddOn in game, it shows as the previous setting.

    Any help would be awesome, I'm new here (to coding and actually posting, I've been a member for quite some time) and if this is too much than I apologize.

    I appreciate the help!
