So is there a way to imbed the mana bar in the health bar?

You mean 'both bars on the same horizontal/vertical line'? Not that I've found (spent time today trying too)

So, trying to setup Pitbull and have a question/problem with the party/pet bars frames... There doesn't seem to be a way to independently position them (e.g., Party1...Party2................Party3...Party4)

I understand the great utility of having them coupled, however...it has it's extreme disadvantages as well. Is there a way to decouple them for independent placement?

This is a SVN go lookup what SVN is. this is not a download site to stable releases, thats what wowinterface and curse is for.

Heh, I noticed problems with it, reinstalled from a safe version and ticked 'ignore' in WAU till the release here is stable.

Simple, easy, and without going batshit crazy on a forum.

Is there any way to convince the bars/object arrangement to be linear horizontal rather than vertical? For all it's much heralded configurability it seems to be destined to stack one bar on top of another or squeeze the portrait in the middle of a vertical arrangement of bars.

    Trying for:
    bar-xxxxx | bar-yyyyy

Only seem to be able to get:
    bar-xxxxx
    bar-yyyyy

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, I hope? (well, besides the 'you can't get there from here' obvious

    rev 51475, 3.0f

2.2 snuck in a change to the relative frame positioning that didn't show on test (b/c I didn't reposition it far enough to notice the oddity) and didn't show on any but one of my chars (and I attributed that to another of the 70 or so mods I have).

    The culprit:
As of 2.2 the screen coordinates are no longer relative to the TOPLEFT instead they are relative to closest screen position which can be TOPLEFT, TOP, TOPRIGHT, LEFT, CENTER, RIGHT, BOTTOMLEFT, BOTTOM and BOTTOMRIGHT be sure to use/save the relativePoint argument in addition to xOfs and yOfs for frame positioning or your frames will appear at the wrong place and even off the screen.

Exact same problem, been happening for several 'new versions' too

    Delete before updating: OFF
    Default mode WITHOUT externals
    Unpack Addons ON

    Frustration level: HIGH

1.9.43.552: once again, can't select addons for updating. Load the app, go to the "updated" tab and clicking does nothing.

And I beg you, remove that insipid popup or make it an option or something besides a default over the very space you're trying to click... It's more annoying that the "text ads" that are full of flashy, moving, spinning and dancing graphics.

Also the 2 "new" panels are both listviews with the MS bug so you need to be a little patient while i get them fixed.

ok, bugged, I can deal with.

    Quote from sylvanaar »

What are you trying to do exactly? Whay cant you do via F10, or shift-clicking on the "Available Updates" panel and using the context menu?

Not everything I have sitting in my directory is something I necessarily want updated (long story) so I don't want to zap with "update it all"

    Quote from sylvanaar »

There are 2 types of protected addons - 1) svn, 2) ignore, ignore works the same, but no folder needs to exist.

How and who sets this? (it's late, maybe I even know this, but right now I'm drawing a blank)

    Quote from sylvanaar »
Im thinking that i should just remove the "check all installed" command and just make it part of every update. ie. F12 would be just like F10. and we could eliminate a commmand.

...well, that would depend on the quote/quest above and the quote statement above that.

ok, before I go completely insane... Why can't I select addons from the "needs update" tab with a single click? I have to double click, wait a second or five, then it is checked but 0/xxx selected. Once I finally get them selected, I have to go select/un-select something from another tab for the count to, well, count the addons selected.

And what's (protected) exactly? "working copies"? If so, and they aren't updateable, why have them on that tab?

I like the tabs. I would just prefer the All Addons to be on top (hence having the option would be good for folks who don't want that tab on top). Also anything that can be updated is already highlighted on there. I don't know, maybe add checkboxes to the Available Updates tab too. I just don't care for the selection method on that tab. :)

Hey, at least you can get something to install... the reactions it's giving me are just plain odd. Selection 1/789 with nothing selected, select 2 things 2/789, unselect them, 1/789... select 3 mods that need update, 2/789, select 3 more, still 2/789.

Ok...just screwing with it. The one thing I hadn't done was pick a new addon to install so I tried that. It correctly d/led it (the only selected addon) and BigWigs (which didn't need update...and wasn't selected o.O -- it's at the top of the packages list, it was definitely unchecked), select/updated another mod fine. Go back to the avail updates tab, select 2...won't install. Go back to all mods, select 2 needing update...not showing 'marked' (even though checked) and won't update (apparently ctrl-select or checkmarks != "marked" b/c once it's "marked" in that x/y list, it will apparently work...getting it IN that list is so far a crapshoot since I can only reliably get addons marked that..don't need update. But, come to think of it, that is pure genius in terms of cutting down WAU bandwidth! :D

Edit: Also interesting, .429 (which I hung onto) shows far more mods with higher svn numbers (e.g. needing update) than .513

Is there some super-secret key combination or body position or virgin sacrafice I should be doing in for .513 to, like, install the marked addons?

It shows a list of mods needing update...I pick one, F12 and...nothing. Select from file -> install/update marked...nothing. Right-click, install/update...nothing. It doesn't show any errors or anything just acts like I haven't issued any instructions. Nothing I do seems to increment the "marked addons" counter w/o using the check-boxes, it stays at 0 unless I "mark all installed addons" but I can't decrement that count then... and weirdly enough, "mark all addons" seems to skip the ones that..need update... Edit: ok, I got some increment/decrementing to work with the "all addons" but... I still can't get anything to actually install.

Not quite the reward I was looking for after the time it took to get the thing installed -- "OneClick" indeed, ha, it's like calling the IRS "OneDollar", makes me miss the days of DesqView, it does. (AceUpdater being weird doesn't bug me, getting OneClick to work...that bugged me to no end)

Edit: in counterpoint to Mrs. Steele, I very much love the tabbed approach and it's lack was one of the real annoyances of older versions. I love not having to scroll through the whole list looking for something that might have been updated. I many only update what I need but it's nice for them all to be in one list (and addons that can be updated is the most relevant piece of information so it makes sense to be the default page, imho)

It would also defeat the whole point.

And would be destroying the great feedback + update cycle that's currently at play because people are too stupid to understand that the SVN/files pages are beta.

I understand perfectly that it's about reducing bandwidth, I just don't think that's the best way to go about it, nice to hear there's plans afoot for a release quality feed in the future though.

Right...it make so much more sense to have the average user d/l beta code with minor dev updates (which may or may not be broken) costing the site $$ for zero benefit for the devs (b/c joe-user isn't going to reg on the forums and post feedback) when it could be an active option for people who actually care to beta test and will provide feedback.

People who want to run beta code and who will provide that feedback can easily make that choice but let it be a choice via WAU. Less bandwidth expendature, near-z e r o community impact.

Read back some more. Its about people using the open source to avoid supporting the site.

Yeah, kinda can't help but agree with that sentiment.

On the use of the "click once"... I tried to give it a go. It brought up a little window and just hung there and never did anything.

Edit: ok, after much jiggery-pokery, I was finally able to just d/l the .app file and run it directly, I received the following for my trouble: " ...Desktop\WowAceUpdater_1_9_42_503\WowAceUpdater.exe.manifest' " But via browser...nothing happens under IE directly, only FF gives me the ability to do something with the .application file.
