Ive been using castbars pretty much since it came out, with a couple caveats, one of which is hitting me now. Is there a way to blacklist spells? I need to remove 1 or 2 specific spells from the target cast bar. In the past, I would use deadened, but it doesnt seem to work with castbars.
I use tellmewhen for many many things. It is a farily simple addon. It has 4 units of non clickable buttons that you can set number of rows/columns, and what buff/debuff/cooldown/etc is present on you, your focus, your target, etc. For example, I use expose armor often, but dont want to overwrite a sunder, so I have one icon that shows sunder, its stack count, and duration left. I use it to show unstable power, searing light, tought of light, touch of darkness, and just about every raid buff/debuff I need to monitor or die/kill someone else/wipe our raid.
Im using a version that hasnt been updated in a while, that I have made some custom edits to, but I still find myself reconfiguring it every fight. For example, I have 1 3 button segment that has icons roughly 20% the height of my screen devoted just to raid info. When we do twins I reconfigure it for touch of light and touch of darkness, then when we go to ulduar I change it to grav bomb and searing light. We hit freya and I change it to unstable energy, etc etc etc.
I have looked at, and in the past, used gridraidstatus, which adds center icon support for misc buffs/debuffs in raid encounters.
I am also using an addon called 'losecontrol' that puts an icon in the middle of my screen when I am cc'd with the duration shown via omnicc.
What I would like to see is all of this put in one mod. Id like too be able to create my normal tellmewhen icons, but Id also like to make a 2-3 button segment with 'raidstatusicons' which would populate based on the fight. Making the whole thing skinnable/buttoonfacadable, and having aceprofile support would be the icing on the cake.
I have a change request/idea Id like to pass along. I am a novice coder, so this falls out of my realm of no how, but I think as an idea/process its quite sound.
Is it possible to get spell casts numbered? I am referring to specifically, interuptable casts, like Searing Flames on General Vezax, or Spirit Shock from Essence of Desire.
The logic behind this, is for arranging interrupts. In 10 man raids, you only need 1 person to handle interrupts on General, but in 25, you need 2. The net result of this can be chaos, either in vent, or in game, and missed interrupts. What Id like to do, is assign interruptors to odd or even casts. We could assign teams, or individual players in this manner. I do not see this as costing much overhead in bigwigs, and I see it as pretty effective, as bigwigs announcements and timer bars showing "Searing Flames 7 coming soon" would be obvious to the raid in general, sans interrupt specific mods. These interrupts are part of the strategy of the boss fights as well, making a good fit.
Is it possible for the General module enumerate the cast number of Searing Flames. Its easy to assign interupt groups by odd/even casts. In fact, I think it may be ideal for any fight that an interrupt needs to happen, to have the casts numbered, to assign interrupt breakdowns.
Do the current changes do away with tags? Im trying to create new views with tags, and its definitely nt working. Im wondering if I am just rusty on tags, or if they have changed/been removed.
With regards to threat meters in 5 mans, I have an issue running a pug without omen. I have almost best in slot gear on every slot, on a rogue. Every tank, whether its a paladin, a druid, or a warrior generates threat differently, and it is hard to tell how much they are generating, especially if you have never grouped with them before. I can get an ss crit, sword spec crit, and be 1500 threat above a tank, which he isnt going to get back easily, unless I have a threat meter, or some indication I am near the tanks threat ceiling, so I can slow down. Grouping with people I always group with, and know how they play, is much easier, but in pugs, I live, and die by omen.
When I said "an accurate threat meter", I was alluding to an addon threat meter such as Omen. The ability for Threat 1.0's parser to differentiate between mobs of the same name will help tremendously imo, at least on some difficult trash pulls (or ones that go south).
Yes, and No, in the same breath. The new combatlog, with id's for targets, is hot, but you cant use it to target anything. Aka, its good for parsing at the end of a fight, etc, but if 2 mobs have the same name, but one has lower threat, you cant use omen to target the mob with lower threat. In the end it will be juryrigged, but by design, it is not for use with threat meters.
hi - first big thanks for this great addon! i use it since 2 years and love it ;)
i have a little request - is it possible to show sraid in a normal party?
greez and sry 4 bad english ;)
No kidding, i'd love to know the answer to that one.
Again if anyone knows what a good setting is for tps update freq to stop this major lag please post what works best for you. BTW can someone please set the default tps update freq to whatever this setting should be. Having it default of 0.05 seconds is crazy.
I think your having an issue with something else. We ran BT and Hyjal this last week, and no one in our raid complained of raid wide slow downs. There definitely are some frame rate differences this patch, but I ran over 30 fps at all times, even during hyjal ae, and our guild all runs omen, with default values.
Let me recap your issue real quick. You started using Omen, after a patch, and are sure its omen, not the patch that is causing your fps issues?
I dont think this is resolved. You figured out what mod was doing it, and disabled the option, but I do not think prat is supposed to send clink strings to trade channel, since you can link items in trade. Maybe report this to the prat thread?
