    posted a message on LuaTexts Official Thread
    I've been playing around for an hour with the default lua code for level and race but it's more complex than my skills. What I am trying to do is shrink the Rare or Elite Text to a single letter with a colon so that a Rare Baby Dragon will display as R:Baby Dragon.

    I'd also like to display the class, but only the first three letters as in War or Mag or Rou.

    I tried Abbreviation(Class(unit)) and Short(Class(unit)) but nothing seemed to work. I've been through the Elitist Jerks Lua pages and all 150 pages here but not quite seen what I'm chasing.

    Could someone please take a minute out to list what would be needed? If they'd be inclined to parse the Default text of

    return "%s%s|cff%02x%02x%02x%s|r |cff%02x%02x%02x%s|r (%s) %s",classification or '',classification and ' ' or '',dr,dg,db,Level(unit),cr,cg,cb,Class(unit),form,SmartRace(unit) or ''

    or

    return "%s%s|cff%02x%02x%02x%s|r |cff%02x%02x%02x%s|r %s",classification or '',classification and ' ' or '',dr,dg,db,Level(unit),cr,cg,cb,Class(unit),SmartRace(unit) or ''

    or
    return "%s%s|cff%02x%02x%02x%s|r %s",classification or '',classification and ' ' or '',dr,dg,db,Level(unit),SmartRace(unit) or ''

    that would be stellar. The basic lua is readable enough but the extra or's and's and apostraphes are defeating me.

    Thank you,

    posted a message on PitBull 2.0
    I see a lot of pooh-poohing of the opinions of many. I'm afraid I have to add one more. Pitbull is remarkable, the best unit mid I've used in near 3 years of wow. Fubar is great. Rock I do not like. I want to make quick changes on the fly from dropdown menues not have to deal with a large frame that eats the screen while I'm running around or has to be shrunk into near invisibility and is then still in the way.

    Some people like dropdowns some like big fancy guis. The like dropdown folks are going to continue to dislike Rock, and saying they "just need to get used to it" or "dont know what they need" isn't going to change that preference, only to insult them.

    I will use whatever is provided in order to keep using the wonderful pitbull and fubar. But I *MUCH* prefer the dropdown, and won't stop preferring it just becouse someone says I'm not smart enough to know what I like.
