    Quote from Supertex »

    Well that's interesting. People took a fanboi liking to Ace for stupid reasons and now they hate Rock for similar stupid reasons.

    I can tell you don't know what Rock is. All you know of it is that it's not placed a button on your screen that may look ugly. Not the best thing for addons to go around doing but the core Rock library isn't a bad library for it.

    Anything you know or feel about Rock, forget it and drop it. Unless you plan to develop addons on a framework you don't need to know it even exists. Just concern yourselves with the state of the addons themselves. The button is planned to be removed soon so all the ugliness you've seen will go away.

    I could do without patronizing - if that was your intent. I failed to mention as well that I no longer have options for FuBar. Any time I rt click on the bar...Rock opens instead of the Fu options...ENTIRELY too large for the screen, I might add. I'd be happy with a simple answer to the original question I asked.

    Ok.

    Rock is ckknight's new baby. It's a way of having all the settings for addons that are ACE addons in one place. It's all centralised in a moveable window that fades when not in focus. Personally I love because I don't think you need to close the rock window to make changes committ to it. You open it , fiddle around with it then go.

    Did you prefer the old nested menus thing ? Cause I find that hard to use. Also and another thing it's now a required library for all future updates of ckknight's stuff (which includes Fubar). So if you don't like it *tough* ck ain't going to go back to the old way. If you want to use the most updated stuff you have to use Rock for configuration from now on ;(

    Also another note : has anyone seen my rock icon ? I seem to of lost it *blush*

    (i now use /rock to bring it up)

    PS Ignore the emo kitteh thing . I just see ck knight's signature and that is what I associate with him ;)

    Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the addon on the minimap in this picture is? I was using this UI pre-2.2 and I want to use that addon to collapse my minimap buttons onto one icon. Anyone know the addon that can do that? Thanks.

    No clue ;) . Altough I do recognised the UI just cant recall the name or author. If you can find out her name (nick name not real name of course) and the name of the UI in question then you're already halfway there. Then try using Google,Live Journal and other wonderfull services to find her. That is of course if it's the same UI author I'm thinking of (the frocs and general layout seems to be the same one)

    Not sure if this is really the best forum to ask in quite frankly. This is also why as a whole I like to avoid using premade UIs as I know I'm probably going to be looking for updates for all those addons seperately anyway (unless of course the author keeps every addon there updated and even then there is no guarentee there).

    Heres 2 ways of finding out the addon name :

    1) You can try using a macro or addon to identify the frame involved.

    Install MoveIt and type /moveitgui.
    Scroll through the list till you find something that looks like it .
    Do a find of every file in your addons file for that frame name (I use TextWrangler not sure what your windows chaps use)
    Find out what folder that frame name appeared in the .lua files . Then open the .toc file for that folder and see what the addon's called . Go search on that

    2) Print out a list of all your addon folders in your addons folder
    Use some deduction to see what it is
    If you have kept backups of your addons try unzipping them one by one and reading their readmes

    Does it show the actual number? (eg, 1342/4550)

    I'm sure it does . I will be getting on WOW in a few minutes so I can test this and come back and post zee screenshot

    Nope looks like I waz wrong .
    Tested this someone who I have not partied with before. The frame shows an absolute health of 100/100 . I then followed this person around (with her permission of course) and watch her getting hit on by mobs. Her percentage of health went down but the absolute health stayed at 100/100. So I'm guessing the Estimated Heals module works with absolute health and not the health percentage stat ? And Estimated Heals can only get their HP if you have partied with them before (but wouldn't update it due to changes of level until you party with them again) ?

    I say the last because I joined a party with this gnome and then left it and that is when i noticed it was putting his absolute health on the Target frame. That and c'mon he was a mage (so I though he actually only had 100HP).

    I blame it on the gnome . It was all the gnomes fault for being short.

    *stamps his original post with "Problem Solved. OP is an idiot and a doofus" *

    I believe it's because you don't know how much health they have unless they're in your party.

    Ahhhh but yes I do ;) . The target frame shows their HP just fine. Or is this just an estimation and useless for the EstimatedHeals module to function ?

    Damn I wonder if you can undelete posts here ... Never mind ...

    Ok my problem is with the EffectiveHealing module. If this is the thread to post it in or if the author reads this thread *yay*.

    Ok to reiterate : Im a carebear who loves to heal friendly units out in the wild. Usaully when I'm not in a party with them. Now I haven't tested the Focus side of things but when they are my target i cant seem to see the overheal bar. When they are in a party with me I can.

    It's not a biggie just slightly annoying

    Mental Note: Due to the blizzard mail system being inherently broken, some mails might get skipped due to the system still being locked by the last transaction, just hit the button again.

    Any chance of getting code rewritten to work around the system being locked by the last transaction ?

    Is there any way of getting the total number of mails waiting in the mailbox ? If there is you could do this :

    while (mailsleft>0) {
    retrievemails();
    mailsleft=pollnumbermailsleft();
    }
    Sorry about the really bad C code there (its been a few years since my C programming course) but it was the quickest way I knew to display what I think you can do in code.

    It's a little annoying to have to keep click the "Open All" button to open all my mails in my mailbox

    Could you switch the URL to
    http://files.wowace.com/

    That's interesting . The list is now sorted alphabetically ;) . Not quite sorting the columns but makes searching for plugins to update much easier ;)

    So people if you need it sorted by name just change the update URL to "" target="" data-ensure-absolute>http://files.wowace.com/"

    The java wowace updater from Nickeny Fiken updated the list of plugins to install/update straight from the Addons directory. This meant that I could start it up and get it to update without having to select the ones to update each time. Just tested this with MacAceUpdater and it doesn't appear to do this - I select "sct" in the search field then select all sct & sctd addons. I then quit and reload it and it has not retained this information.

    You can do the same thing in MAU - just click 'Select outdated addons'.

    Just experimented with this . I downloaded a really old ancient copy of a Ace2 addon from ui.worldofwar.net . Start up MacAceupdater. See the Addon had a version installed besides it . Clicked "Select Outdated Plugins" . A tick appeared to install it. Clicked "Install Selected Plugins" and it worked ;)

    Only one thing though - some of my Ace plugins don't show up having a version number under the installed column ... possibly because they dont have a file in their folder tell MAU what version is installed. This can be easily fixed by me going through them (now made much eaiser now things are alphabetisicied) and clicking to be manually reinstalled again *sigh*

    But hey ! It should mean from now I only have to click 3 buttons to update them :

    "Refresh List"
    "Select Outdated Plugins"
    "Install Selected Plugins"

    You really need to write a read me for this app ;( . I can write one for you if you like (if nothing else it needs to have something about the 3 step process to updating your plugins for the idiots like me)

    To make things easiser on myself I've customised the toolbar so it has these buttons in the following order :

    "Refresh List"
    "Select Outdated Plugins"
    "Install Selected Plugins"

    Maybe you could make it the default order or something

    Not sure if this is a bug or unimplemented feature but here goes ;)

    Just tested this with MacAceUpdater and it doesn't appear to do this - I select "sct" in the search field then select all sct & sctd addons. I then quit and reload it and it has not retained this information. Also the ones you've ticked to install/update gets reset each time you update the list of addons from the server..

    That being said none of my Ace2 addons have caused any sort of catastrophic addon meltdown due to not being updated but it would be nice to be able to update my Ace2 addons
