    posted a message on Achievement On Par
    When it comes to looking for other members for a speed run, it would be great to have something that allows you to choose certain achievements and flag them with priorities.

    When they are meet then the tooltip for that player (upon mousover), will contain the achievement name, the count(if it is a progress type), and the priority colour from good to bad. (Orange, Purple, Blue, Green, White, Grey, Red) using already established colours for items (red because everyone knows red means broken stuff)

    Even if this can be implemented as something that can query players in a channel, since i understand the limitations of mousing over players just to work out if they meet your standards.

    I have the same bookmark setup for Warcrafter.net since it gives a quick gear score. And it loads faster than the real armory. An in game link is great for those names with extended characters, although I generally avoid people with them. Make it hard on me = no invite. :P

    You realise you can right click on players names which prefix their messages and select invite?

    posted a message on Adding default UI friend/guild notes to player tooltips
    This needs to change, the 'for loop'.
    function addon:FRIENDLIST_SHOW()
     for i =0, #GetNumFriends() do
      name, _, _, _, _, _, note = GetFriendInfo(i)
      friendNote[name] = note
     end
    end

    This also needs to change : the 'GameTooltip:GetUnit()' returns two values playerName and unitId.
    May be optional at that point to disable notes for your own player.

    local script = GameTooltip:GetScript("OnTooltipSetUnit")
    local function hookedOnTooltipSetUnit(frame, ...)
     if script and type(script) == 'function' then
      script(frame, ...)
     end
     local unit_name, unitId = GameTooltip:GetUnit()
     if(unitId ~= 'player') then
         if pubNote[unit_name] then
          frame:AddDoubleLine("Guild Note: ", pubNote[unit_name] or "?")
         end
         if friendNote[unit_name] then
          frame:AddDoubleLine("OfficerNote:", pubNote[unit_name] or "?")
         end
         if officerNote[unit_name] then
          frame:AddDoubleLine("Friend Note:", pubNote[unit_name] or "?")
         end
     end
    end

    Hi, like your idea here...but.

    I had a look at the code and its a mess, but yes i understand this is early days for this addon...it would be great to see the guts of the code cleaned up into something more organised.

    There is no parent object, none of the functions are methods of a parent object.

    For example, what this means is that if I were to make an addon that would provide a button to open up your addon main window, then ideally I would like to be able to peform :
    /run GnomishYellowPages:ToggleFrame()

    This could also be why your addon is being interfered with by other addons.

    Would just like to point out something about healing, spell power and how it benefits healing more than spell damage.

    Firstly, if you travel to this page at wowhead for [Torch of Holy Fire], and mouseover the "Equip: Increases spell power by 520." bit, you will see that the healing gained from this is 978.

    So when I look in my character sheet, and see that all spellpower stats only contribute 1:1 to my healing in the summary, I am left feeling a bit puzzled.

    It has been found that the simple formula for spell healing is :
    healing = spellpower * 1.88
    any thoughts on this?

    Edit: I checked another piece of gear and its tooltip for the spellpower , it seems that the torch of holy fire and maybe some others are unique in the regard to healing benefits from spell power.
    for example : Necromancer's Amulet

    Edit2:This is the staff i have : Staff of Restraint it has 461 spellpower and the tooltip on wowhead also has the 1:1.88 ratio for spellpower to healing benefits.
    I still only see a 1:1 summary for healing when i look at the ratingbuster summary for this staff in game : Screenshot

    There's only a handful of spots that you can keep your flying mount (Violet Tower, Crafting area, Silver Enclave, and northern bank). You can either mount up on the balcony of the Purple Parlor or fly in right behind Violet Tower.

    And it only applies to special mounts like :

    • flying carpets
    • drakes
    • etc

    Yeah see you still don't understand what I was after and it seems you only read about three words of my post....I already know the slash command for opening pitbull config window...why would i want to use the one you gave and then have to open a 2nd option?

    If you had read my previous comment you would have noticed that I was coding my own minimap button for access pitbull config.

    Reason why clicking on the unitframe isn't going to work for me is that I use clique and all my shift/alt/ctrl/ + mouse click combos are used for spells.

    The reason why macros wont work for me is because you can not call macros from within lua code, as far as I know.

    But anyway I found out the exact piece of lua code required to open up the Rock Config Window to the Pitbull Section :

    PitBull.OpenConfigMenu(PitBull)
    myMinimapButtons.Buttons={
        {
            title="Ludwig Database",
            icon="Interface\\Icons\\INV_Misc_Book_06",
            tooltip="Left click to open ludwig item database",
            functions={
                left=function(s) ShowUIPanel(LudwigFrame) end,
                right=function(s) return end,
                middle=function(s) return end,
            },
        },
        {
            title="Mobspells",
            icon="Interface\\Icons\\INV_Misc_Book_01",
            tooltip="Report & browse spells mobs use.",
            functions={
                left=function(s) MobSpells:ReportTargetSpells()    end,
                right=function(s) MobSpells:Show() end,
                middle=function(s) return end,
            },
        },
        {
            title="Pitbull",
            icon="Interface\\Icons\\INV_Misc_Book_01",
            tooltip="Configure Pitbull Unitframes.",
            functions={
                left=function(s) PitBull.OpenConfigMenu(PitBull) end,
                right=function(s) return end,
                middle=function(s) return end,
            },
        },
    }
    and the constructor that uses myMinimapButton_LIB :
    myMinimapButtons:RegisterEvent("ADDON_LOADED")
    myMinimapButtons:SetScript("OnEvent", function(frame, event, addon)

        for i = 1, #this.Buttons do

            local m=this.Buttons[i]
            myMinimapButtons_Settings[m.title]={};
            MyMinimapButton:Create(m.title,myMinimapButtons_Settings[m.title],{
                icon = m.icon,
                tooltip = m.tooltip,
                left = m.functions.left,
                right = m.functions.right,
                middle = m.functions.middle,
                enabled = 1,
            })
        end

        myMinimapButtons:UnregisterEvent("ADDON_LOADED")
    end);

    Ctrl + right click on a frame opens the configuration window for that frame.
    That's even faster than clicking a minimap button and navigating to the frame.

    Thats your opinion, and since you suggest such a thing it obvious you dont use Clique.

    However, what i requested is the lua code that is executed when the /pitbull command is used.

    since you don't provide a minimap icon to go directly to the pitbull config window, i am creating one myself.

    But i need to know how you call the config menu from lua?
    Knowing what piece of lua code is executed when you use the '/pitbull' salsh command would help.

    much appreciated and many thanks.
