    How about we say....

Use SVN how you're supposed to? No fancy TOC settings, no stable commit message flag. Just use the damn SVN like it's intended and everything is solved.

There is no such thing. Each company or group decide for themselves how to use SVN (or any other VCS). So what you should have said is "How about we decide on a good way to use SVN and follow it?". Now, that's unfortunately where we have been stalled for a while...

I'm giving it a try currently. Mostly because I was curious - and I can spare the 2$ that one month costs. In my opinion, a paid addon has to be really, really good to stand a chance against all the free addons out there.

Just an update for the curious. I am still using it. It's pretty, works well, nearly no bugs, and quite handy for leveling a char. But... there are too many quests missing in the database for my taste. An addon like LightHeaded may not be quite as convenient to use. But it has more quests listed. So I am still in doubt wether Carbonite is worth the money or not. Though, the hassle-free installation and functionality may appeal to some people. So I would actually recommend it to someone who does not want to mess much with addons and doesn't mind paying a bit for it.

Using the --ignore-externals relates to the question I have above, I think. Wouldn't that option mean your libs get out of sync? I thought specifying a revision flag would be a better way of not having your externals updated.

Er... --ignore-externals mean that externals will be ignored. :) So there is no thing that can get out of sync anywhere.

I like the idea of cleaning up, many addons are horribly out of date (90 days and more) a lot of them were rewritten and have an successor, and so on.

Sorry but 90 days is not "horribly out of date" by any standards. If it works without problems, it is not out of date.

Also, if an addon has been rewritten and has a successor, there is hopefully an author actively involved. It should be up him wether the old version is still relevant to keep around or not.

If this has to go any further, I think it would be great if people would post a list of the addons they think should be deleted/archived. Maybe there aren't quite as many as you think. Or maybe there are.

Voil?! Your project is uploaded to the repository, checked out, and ready to go. Also, you didn't need to shuffle around the Externals folders, since you just didn't select them for upload... right?! :P

Not sure what you mean by shuffling around externals. In general, you should always just use the --ignore-externals option when updating.

Umm, it does? I thought it was mainly a "launchpad" for opening AceConfigDialog. But I've not checked on the PTR lately. :P

I am really not fond of Blizzard's option dialog in 2.4, it's not resizeable, it lacks features that RockConfig has, I just don't see it as necessary to support right now.

Yea, I agree that it's not intended for anything other than simple checkboxes and things like that. Though some addons don't need more than that. Would love to see a library that supports Blizzard's options dialog directly. :)

I was wondering if you have considered any kind of integration with the upcoming options dialog that Blizzard is bringing us in patch 2.4?

I can't say I have any overwhelmingly good arguments for doing so. :P It would probably mostly be a matter of increasing "coherence" so to speak. Users will hopefully get more and more accustomed to using this options dialog. There are users today who don't even know about Blizzard's current Interface Options. :D

A small and probably simple feature would be creating an entry for each Rock addon that contains only the basic stuff like enabling and profile management. Then a button to launch more advanced configurations in the existing RockConfig.

    Anyway, just curious. :)

Yeah, I can do it in the next beta build.

So a question to ask everyone would be: Does implementing true variable length bars provide enough justification to cause everyone to need to redo their layouts?

    Definitely!

Also, it's a beta. Nobody can or should complain about losing settings. :)

I've made a Goggle-code project where you can download the test version including all libraries:

    http://code.google.com/p/bamcode

Compared to the branch on wowace there are no changes. I'm still not sure how best to make test versions available. So I'm trying Goggle-code for now. :)

Did this just happen when you installed Safari 3.1?

No, it was a few weeks ago. I don't recall anything particularly triggering it. I just noticed one day that they were back. And no amount of enabling, disabling, cookie-clearing, etc. seemed to work. So my guess is that the fault is not on my end. :P

Would still like to know why the disabling suddenly stopped working. ???

Pffft... don't wanna use FireFox. :D

It's an option on Vibrant's site that you can disable the ads. It used to work for me. Now it suddenly no longer works. :(
