That error looks like you ran a "package" addon before, and the addon didnt update its unpacking features for the new .pkgmeta layout yet. Delete everything directly from your addons dir, and reinstall the addon. Should solve all issues
By the way can we get .pkgmeta included in all Zips please?
Well Starinnia but there isn't any reason why a session or service system should require a login. Saying "the login is there because the services require it" doesn't include a description why the services do need a login (and well sorry but there can't be a real reason for that; I unterstand that sessions may be needed but sessions work without login in general).
And sorry Kaelten but how can we be not paranoid if there is no reason why login could be required but the client requires it!?
Why is something which is for most companies not a problem a problem for you? I mean look at Samalas post. Every non-crap setup program asks for custom/typical install. Typical is for the Newbies and custom is for advanced users. And in custom you can deselect i.e. the profiler. Sorry but for me that sounds like an excuse because your boss don't like it if the profiler isn't installed at the beginning.
hold up angry irate poster, does the term development and still getting revamped from the current CurseClient mean ANYTHING. just wait for it, things like this take time to actually put in, then test.
It was said that it is okay for the bosses to give an uninstall option. And for me that sounds like that there will be no option to not install it (and that "don't install it" option isn't okay for the bosses).
Even a programmer can take a look at good applications and ask the chefs if he is allowed to implement something which is good in the other applications. Especially because the CC will replace WAU I think ignoring WAU is a really bad idea.
I guess the "exception" can be the profilers, which I have code in the latest build to completely uninstall. A lot of users expect it though, its part of our character profile system and is installed because of this.
Sorry but why is there no option to not install it!? I don't want to use your character profile system so I don't need this profiler and I don't want that its getting installed. First installing something and then say to users "well uninstall it if you don't want it" is mal-/spyware behavior. Things like that confirm the prejudices against Curse.
Btw. will there come some advantages that make the free customers think "well the client is cool" too? Because at the moment (even if I ignore the things which aren't good solved at the moment) I don't see any reason to use the client; because I could use favorites and it is the same work for me (maybe except unzipping).
