I'm quite new to this tooltip scene, I'll dig deeper in the documentation... If I understand correctly I should :
    - Acquire LibQTipClick on the OnEnter method of ldb object
    - Set the auto hide delay on the tooltip (I was actually going to hack it myself but it's much better if something already exists for that)
    - Do not release tooltip on clicking LDB object, nor when clicking on a cell

One question remaining : where should I release the LibQTipClick tooltip then ?

    Thanks for the pointers Torhal.

Simple broker allowing you to select an equipment set defined by using the Blizzard Equipment Set feature new with 3.1.2.
It uses LibQTip and the new LibQtipClick-1.1 libraries

It would be understandably hard from an internal point of view to justify spending time on a module for Minion just after having spent so much effort to develop the Curse Client. The timing couldn't be worse for this announcement but I guess WoWI's people were not prepared to get public on this one until now :x

^ True. But tanks, healers and dps are thrown every-which way. It get's confusing in 25 mans especially, and healing efficiency is lost from exsessive mouse movemenet to select different players on a melee, ranged, healing, tanking, etc. priority basis. Also, when running with pugs it may take several boss fights for a healer to get attuned with the group's layout, increasing risk of a wipe.

I am the author of GridDynamicLayout, the backend logic behind it is, at least in theory, something which is quite independant of the display used. I suppose I could hack into agUF the same way I do for Grid.
I'm not at all familiar with how agUF raid frames work but I'm under the impression that the layout object structure is something that is actually used by all securetemplated raid frames am I right ?

I thought the point of LSW was to interface your tradeskill window with business intelligence stuff (well, that's a big word to be using for wow but it's essentially how I used LSW).
Anyway what you're describing will do the job, I just think that, essentially it's kinda equivalent to what I proposed and would be so much more natural as an additional filter to Skillet + LSW solution : a separate config window to set up your X and Y values for each item class and then a simple checkbox in Skillet would serve exactly right.
But anyway I trust you to deliver the way you usually do and will wait tapping my feet anxiously :) .

I just posted this feature request ticket, figured I would post it here to gather a little bit more feedback :

What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?
Add a filter to tradeskill list (in Skillet this would be a new checkbox beside the "Hide trivial" checkbox) based on how many of the end result item a character + his alts (exclude guildbank) has.
Checkbox would read "Hide item if more than X in possessions", X being configurable (slider or other).

Please provide any additional information below.
First of all, I *love* LSW, easily one of the thing that makes me saves the most time since the invention of [Sliced bread].
Let me tell you a little bit how I use LSW, I use it with Skillet and a neat addon addon based on Possession data which adds to the tooltip how many of a particular item alts + character + guildbank has (it's called WhoHas).
My auction niche is Glyph selling, which means I have in stock anywhere from 80 to 120+ different glyphs. What I try to do is maintain my stock to a minimum value of 3, each time I restock I do this :
    - sort tradeskill by ItemValue
    - for each recipe which is above 10 gold I hover on item, check my stock, if it's under 3 I craft what is missing

This enhancement would allow me to save precious time not having to hover on item, I would have directly the craft list I need to do in order to restock.

Hmm on second thought seeing your question is about status I know that implementation has changed a fair bit recently concerning those... The old.wowace.com wiki may not be very helpful. I don't maintain any status plugin so I cannot be more helpful than that.

    * Check that gems match sockets (not sure if I need to, considering above)

Don't check that (except maybe to check meta-gems prereqs), as of now min-maxing means you sometimes have to go for bonus and sometimes not. The implementation of that decision-making process depends on precise class / spec stat allocation, it would take you too far in the realm of Pawn-type addons.

Sorry to post here, I'm wondering what the best resource for developers wanting to do a status module is. I remember there used to be a page on wowace.com that I can no longer find, and Google has utterly failed me. Thanks!

Maybe you don't realize it Lightshade but what you're asking for amounts to an awful lot of code. I think most of the supposed hostility you see is that people are trying to warn you of the discrepancy between the added value of your addon and the amount of work (plus maintenance, we are looking at something that ought to be updated on a very frequent basis) it would require.

Wow, that *is* insane, considering that WoW addons are just scripts that run in a limited environment.

Maybe explain to him that lua files are exactly like macros in Excel, nothing bad could ever happen with macros... Oh wait, bad strategy...

Grid does not use AceHook (as in : it doesn't declare AceHook it in the mixin), however it embeds it so the library itself should be loaded.
As a plugin to Grid which is based on Ace2 I'm reluctant to use Ace3...

You cannot do that simply afaik.
Best method I can come up with right now would be to watch combat log for SPELL_PERIODIC_DAMAGE, maintain and build up a white list of spells that trigger it and use that to match against your debuffs.

posted a message on Weird Ace2 problem
I maintain a Grid plugin called GridDynamicLayout and I came into a weird problem yesterday. I had to securely hook a Grid method so I figured I would just add AceHook-2.1 to the mixin like this :
    local GridDynamicLayout = AceLibrary("AceAddon-2.0"):new("AceConsole-2.0", "AceEvent-2.0", "AceHook-2.1")
    [...]
    function GridDynamicLayout:OnEnable()
    	self:SecureHook([...])
    end

This didn't work, errored out in OnEnable saying that SecureHook was not a method... After mucho attempts at understanding this rather weird behaviour I came up with the ugly hack to create a new mixin with AceHook-2.1, which worked :
    local GridDynamicLayout = AceLibrary("AceAddon-2.0"):new("AceConsole-2.0", "AceEvent-2.0")
    local GridDynamicLayout_hook = AceLibrary("AceAddon-2.0"):new("AceHook-2.1")
    [...]
    function GridDynamicLayout:OnEnable()
    	GridDynamicLayout_hook:SecureHook([...])
    end

It works but I hate to keep the code in that state, any suggestions ? I have little experience in Ace2 or method hooking so I probably made some dumb mistake that I'm not seeing...

Note : as a plugin with hard dependency to Grid I don't bother with actually embedding Ace2 libs, I just assume they are here and loaded since Grid will always load before my plugin. Maybe that's the problem but it's rather weird...
