May 10, 2010Posted in: Addon IdeasQuote from MelikaeJust have only one plague on all mobs.
When we did this on Tuesday we let the first plague vanish (decurse the one with it just out of camp).
Then gave the mobs the second one, to asure that enough mobs are present.
After that just decurse every plague until you're done and have the bored ranged DDs monitor the debuff... they got nothing better to do anyway...
Ye we did this achievement before the first post in 10 man and a couple of days ago on 25 man but I'm one for making things simple if they can be. And every time you do the achievement you need to explain that it's not the stack on the boss that counts, which could be avoided with this addon. Well, unfortunately it can't be done in a nice way, but fortunately it's not something you really need.
Basically, just drop one plague on the mobs (be it 1st or 2nd or 3rd) and it should be enough. And as you said, bored dps can scan the targets and when the stack is at X and X+N(mobs+tank)>=30 you can switch phases. Just don't let your healers go afk along with the dps. :D
May 6, 2010Posted in: Addon IdeasQuote from zacheklundI suggested the idea to the author of RaidAchievement, but he says it isn't reported in the combatlog. I just responded and tried to tell him otherwise, but if he still doesn't think so, would anyone be willing to give this project a shot?
I think he's right though. I checked one WoL parse that was mentioned on wowhead and the parse only showed one "is afflicted by necrotic plague (31)". The person reported that the stack went from 29 to 31, so the "SPELL_AURA_APPLIED" event might only occur if the doesn't grow linearly. (I assume SPELL_AURA_APPLIED is the event that gives the "x afflicted by debuff (stack)" message, I don't know for sure).
[23:17:40.224] Drudge Ghoul afflicted by Necrotic Plague (31)
So I think the only way to track this via the combat log is both tracking that rare event (if you only drop one plague to the adds it won't show at all) and calculating the stacks based on the damage it does. First stack ticks 50k, 2nd 100k, 3rd 150k, ... 29=1.45M, 30=1.5M, etc. One could add a warning for stacks 26-32. (26 so that you know if you need to wait for a new add wave or if you can bring the LK down to 70% and the Plague will have enough adds to jump to). I'm not sure if Ebon Plaguebringer will increase the damage of Necrotic Plague as well.
May 3, 2010It's not the Lich King's buff stacks that need to be tracked but the Necrotic Plague itself that jumps around the adds and kills them.Posted in: Addon Ideas
Plague Siphon is what Lich King gains whenever Necrotic Plague jumps.
While it might seem simple that whenever Necrotic Plague jumps, Plague Siphon stacks too, the stack size on Lich King's buff doesn't tell how many stacks Necrotic Plague has. For instance, the Plague might disappear if the adds died too quickly and it didn't have any close units to jump to OR separate smaller stacks of the plague can combine into one larger stack.
So, you need to track Necrotic Plague stacks, and when the stacks go high, it jumps around pretty quickly and might be quite hard to keep track off. Thus, something that could track the stacks from combat log for example could be nice. There (apparently) also might be a bug that if the stack goes from 29 to 31 (skips 30), the achievement might not trigger. Don't know if it's fixed yet.
Maybe you could make a suggestion to the author of RaidAchievement.
Apr 27, 2010Posted in: AddOn HELP!Quote from PhanxIt's the WorldStateAlwaysUpFrame, the same frame that's used to show battleground score info, and there are several addons that can move it; BattleObjectivesMover is the simplest one I know of.
Thanks. I guess I don't do enough pvp to have that cross my mind.
Apr 26, 2010Is it possible to touch the "Attempts left in heroic mode: 50" text in ICC or the event timer & wave spawns text in CoS/HoR? I've got my buffs in one row on the top of my screen and the timers for last buffs overlap with the text.Posted in: AddOn HELP!
(I remember someone somewhere wondering the same thing but couldn't find it / the answer to it)
Apr 20, 2010Posted in: Raid AddOnsQuote from KollektivIcy Grip always comes before Blistering Cold, so that's not the problem. DBM and BigWigs have the cooldown before the last phase at ~69s, where as DXE's is set at ~77. I didn't find an interval < 77 in all of my logs. Personally, I haven't seen Icy Grip cast any earlier than the current time it's set at, though I could be wrong.
I'm not sure what you're saying in terms of what I was saying (), since it's funny if your cooldown is actually longer. I'm actually seeing what would be the opposite: The DBM (don't remember how it is in BW) timer for Blistering Cold ends at about second before the actual grip where as in DXE the gap is at least about 5 seconds. Weird.
And it's not just my observation from timers, our raid leader announces the "5 (or whatever) seconds to grip" with really good precision, and by that time my DXE timers have already "expired". :O
Apr 20, 2010Bigwigs or DBM seem to be more accurate with Sindragosa's Icy Grip / Blistering Cold cast. At least my raid leader announces the incoming grip more accurately than what I can see from DXE timers: there always seems to be 5-10 seconds between when the Icy Grip cooldown bar ends and the actual grip happens.Posted in: Raid AddOns
Is it because DBM actually uses Blistering Cold cooldown to track the next grip and DXE uses the actual Icy Grip cooldown? Would it be possible to get an option to track Blistering Cold cooldown rather than Icy Grip cd, since the grip happens more in line with the actual Blistering Cold cast (i.e. the grip won't happen if the boss won't start casting Blistering Cold immediately after(?) the grip)? Or should I make a ticket?
http://www.wowace.com/addons/deus-vox-encounters/tickets/87-sindragosa-grip/ I actually found this ticket that says fixed, but.. hmh.
Apr 16, 2010Posted in: Raid AddOnsQuote from KollektivAVR looks very interesting so I'll probably add this in. There's no API to add plugins for encounter definitions so I'll have to code this into the core. This will of course be optional and dependent on AVR being installed, so if you have AVR installed it will work. I talked to the AVR author and he may be creating a library for 3d texture drawing, so this may be packaged directly into DXE in the near future.
Hey, I just came to edit/delete my previous comment regarding AVR support since it's no longer required. Allara has just made working beta releases for AVR Encounters, and Olog removed AVR's own BigWigs module to support AVR Encounters. So it's all good now. :) Sorry for the trouble!

1. "Highest healing" is meaningless anyway.
2. People who believe that your "gear score" says anything meaningful about your performance potential or your skill as a player are morons, plain and simple, and aren't going to give up their e-peen-affirming belief simply because another addon says it's wrong.
1. True, luckily our realm seems quite smart about this in that no one really ever posts the healing meters, even in pugs. Useful for viewing how and who people are healing though. Even in the damage list side I find myself mostly comparing who did most damage to adds etc rather than the absolute list of who's best dps.
2. Sadly, that's probably true. Too common a phenomenon to have people stick to their ideas even if they're proven wrong.
Still, was just saying, the whole addon doesn't make sense and the recount plugin doesn't make sense in the grand scale, but if you zoom closely in to the nonsense end of the spectrum, the recount plugin makes slightly more sense than just GS alone. Heck, I even posted the simple formula on "how to calculate your gearscore without the addon" to our guild website to show how absurd it is that people are using that to evaluate your performance. Maybe I should post it in the realm forums :P
On topic, I still think it's rather confusing to have 2 different sets of configuration windows that mostly overlap. Would it be possible to add the "recorded fights" slider to the normal options as well. Or I guess this is more simple: in the regular config have a button to the /recount GUI to remind me it exists and might have some other (new?) options I'd like to adjust?
Mar 27, 2010Posted in: Raid AddOnsQuote from AVR »AVR (Augmented Virtual Reality) allows you to draw and add lines, circles and other markings on the 3D world itself. All markings may also be shared with others. Suitable for example to mark locations when explaining raid tactics. These marks can even be left visible for the fight itself. ...
*Bossmods type things, currently adds a red circle on Festergut spores, Putriced Malleable Goo (one target only), Rotface ooze explosion and Sindragosa Frost beacons. (Requires BigWigs for these to work.)
Regarding this ticket and the author's comment: how difficult would it be to make an AVR plugin? or is it impossible? What's your take on DXE plugins?
Mar 19, 2010Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from gamemaster128A GearScore plugin for Recount. . .
I agree with Dridzt. How pointless.
Actually, a Recount plugin is the first thing that actually makes sense regarding the whole addon. Evaluating "performance"/gear-relationship makes a whole lot more sense than just the gearscore alone. Now the people might actually see that highest GS doesn't mean highest damage done or healing. Or that GearScore != SkillScore. Wishful thinking :P
...though I'm doubtful that that whole "damage or dps divided by gearscore" formula is fair towards all ranges of gearscore.
