The instructions are to copy the database files into this folder:

    World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\-name-\SavedVariables

There are no files in that folder though! I am supposed to replace the old "Cartographer_Herbalism.lua" with the new, updates and complete version.

How did you go about getting your nodes?

That file is the data file, not the program file. The instructions are correct.

Blizzard API works great with icon buffs, but not with bars. What that implies is, if you are using bars, you need to modify results from Blizzard API.

The Blizzard API just returns the time remaining on a buff/debuff. It doesn't know or care how you use that data. Bars, squares, pie charts, line graphs, bouncing babies, it doesn't know or care.

What he said was that whatever the Blizzard API returns is what he is going to display and he is not going to try to correct it in his add-on. He's not going to try to interpret what the API meant, he's just going to display it's output as is.

There are set locations where they spawn. The databases show all the possible spawn points (based on wowhead.com data). What the others are saying is that when you use the tool that just because a mark shows on the map doesn't mean that that location actually has a node spawned at the current time. You still have to go look to see if the node is spawned. You'll know where to look, just not if it is currently up.

Don't know about the Ace version of Cartographer, but the Rock version still uses the same databases. I still use the old herb and mining and treasure databases.

posted a message on Eating/Drinking Addon
Obviously playstyle and UI design concerns are an issue here. But ...

I know that in my case 2 buttons won't ever be enough. There are always choices to be made.

I typically carry at least 2 different buff foods and a "regular" food of the same level. Depending on the situation, "Well Fed" could be spi/sta or mp5 or agi or str or int or ... And, you want a "plain" food to eat in between so that you aren't wasting buff food when you've still got time remaining. Add in mage conjured food and it gets worse. I don't want an add-on trying to figure out what I need to eat. Too many chioces for an add-on to make as far as the "best" food at any particular moment. For example, I'm soloing and "Well Fed" with a spi/sta food and join a group. Need to eat, there are at least 4 options at that point: Mage conjured food, regular no-buff food, original spi/sta food (re-apply non-expired buff) or change to different buff food (say mp5 or agi or ap food).

Drinking isn't as bad because there are fewer choices, but still more choices than a macro or add-on can make easily.

In combat is about the same as drinking, there are "normal" pots, BG pots, healthstones, etc.

Personally I use Autobar and "Pop up" lists, I have a button for: health pots (pots, BG pots, healstones), bandages, mana pots (pots, BG pots), buff food, non-buff food, water and buff water. My Autobar has 12 buttons on it, the vast majority (8) are related to healing, food and drink. Quest items, mini-pets, hearthstone/teleport and mounts round out the rest.

In my case, I've got 5 rows of 12 buttons (yeah, I'm a clicker, my memory can't handle keybinds), the top most one being Autobar (it's on top because of the "Pop up" lists). My UI isn't going to be oooh'd and aaah'd over though. It's one of the ones that's functional for me but has a "wall of stuff" covering the bottom 15% of the screen (chat window, Omen, 60 buttons, Violation, combat log from left to right, all the same height with a skinned frame behind them).

So, to me, while fewer buttons is a great goal, I know I'd be constantly opening bags to get what I really wanted.

I haven't scanned through the entire thread, so I apologize if this has already been mentioned...

I seem to be having an issue between the spark and aura modules. Occasionally, the spark continues running along the energy/mana bar even when the bar is full (should stop once it's full, right?).

Additionally, while the spark is active (whether the bar is full or not), if I view the map then close it, the auras will then be attached to the spark's position and traveling along inside my energy/mana bar. I can then view the map a second time and close it, and the auras will then be attached to the bottom of the unit frame again, as they should be. Viewing the map again and closing it, puts them back on the spark graphic again, and so on.

I think I'm going to give the AltAuras module a try and see if there's any difference.

Energy Spark should be there whenever you have a target. Once it's full and you don't have a target it should stop. Target someone and it should start back up again. You want to time your attack so that the energy ticks right after your opener so you get the energy back.

I don't know about the aura problem though, I used EBB for that and have auras disabled on the player frame.

    Quote from Shader »

First of all. Is there an option to make target bars not disappear when detargeting. Well, I guess not :/

So what I'm then looking for is having an option for some bars not to disappear. Cause it's very annoying when some cc bars are disappearing when changing target.

The Sticky Bars portion of ClassTimer is what you want. It allows you to define certain bar as "sticky" and to remain on screen regardless of your target. Lots of discussion about it in the main ClassTimer thread.

Why not make it a simple "Tithe" button?

When you are at the guild bank screen, a button that when clicked, deposits 10% (configurable?) of your current gold.

    Clear font?

Nope, doesn't do it. If Pitbull is set to use ABF and EBB is set to use YellowJacket, they get what they request. ClearFont only changest the defaults, it doesn't force an addon to use a common font.

SurfaceControl "overrides" the individual addon. If SurfaceControl is set to "X" and EBB is set to "Y" and Pitbull to use "Z", they use "X" because SurfaceControl overrides them.

May not be possible, but would be cool.

Forgot to change the font on EEBs

I was thinking about just that yesterday.

I use SurfaceControl to force all the bars to the same texture.

Would it be possible to have a "FontControl" to force all the addons to use the same font?

posted a message on Sap Timer?
I suck at macros and still use Chronometer precisely because I don't want my sap to be my focus, I use that for something else, but ...

Get rid of your Sap button and replace it with a macro that is something like:

    /focus target
    /cast sap

This sets your focus to your target and then saps them. ClassTimer and some of the other timer mods will track buffs/debuffs on your focus and therefore your sap will get a bar and retain it when you change targets.

I'm trying out ClassTimer now and this is the reason I still prefer Chronometer. When grouped I keep my focus either on the tank I'm supposed to be assisting or on the squishy I'm supposed to be guarding. Having to give that up to track the Saps time isn't worth it to me. With Classtimer you can enable the Sticky bar and add Sap to the items that the Sticky bar traps, but for some reason, the sticky bar can't be added to the AllInOne bar, so it's still a little bit of a kludge (IMHO) in that you have to have at least 2 bar anchors/groups.

It is bright, but I like it. :) It has a more happy feeling than the normal dark, brooding feeling of an rpg game.

It's World of Warcraft, not World of Fuzzy Bunnies.
