    Having issues with shopping list retrieving items from the bank with latest version. I queued items that required 12 Felweed. It would not get the items from the bank although I had 24. I even tried after relog with no luck. No errors, just didn't work.

    Yikes! I was able to reproduce this and am working on it right now.

    Edit: I think I found it. I just checked in a fix for a problem when more than 1 stack (full or partial) needed to be taken from the bank. I'm hoping this is what is happening in your case (the stack of 4 Felweed was found before the stack of 20).

    Who would use such a function?

    edit because I probably sound mean:
    count = GetInventoryCount(item) seems like its providing too little information. Who has these items, and where are they at (bags, bank, equipped, etc)?

    I was worried that if I made the method too ... heavy, it would not be as attractive to mod writers. Maybe it could return a table that looks something like:

    result = {
     ["total"] = total for all chars,
     [character name index] = {
       ["name"] = character's name
       ["count"] = total for this character,
       [location index] = {
         ["name"] = name of location ("Bag", or Wearing", etc). Or maybe bag number with -1 == wearing and -2 == mailbox
         ["count"] = total for this location
       }
     }
    }

    That should be easy enough to do and should provide a decent amount of information. The lists of character+individual count and location+count can be optional if the mod does not track that much detail.

    Here is what I'm going to propose for the common API method that other mod authors can impleement. This is intended to be the inventory equivalent to http://www.wowwiki.com/API_GetSellValue

    --
    -- @method GetInventoryCount
    -- @brief Determines how many of the provided item are in the inventory of
    -- all the player's characters in this faction, on this realm.
    -- @param item numeric item id for the item to be searched for
    -- @return the total number of the provided item across all characters.
    -- This includes the current character.
    --
    count = GetInventoryCount(item)

    I've got a working version (that currently only support Sanity2 and CharacterInfoStorage at the moment) that I will be checking in as part of Skillet in the next couple of days. I'll post a link to it when I do.

    Once people have had a change to look it over and make any comments or suggestions they want, I'll import it as a top level library and remove it from Skillet's SVN directory.

    how bout libs do what the've always done.... provide an api that addons use instead of conforming the Lib to specific addons :P you can update thoes addons to use the new lib/api

    That would be ideal, but I'm not sure how much luck I'm going to have gertting all the different library authors to implement a common API.

    However, that's a damn good idea so I'm going to write up a proposal for a common API and write the library to check for it. I'll then contact any library authors I can find and suggest that they add it to their libraries. I'll post the proposed common API here in a day or two and see what people think of it.

    However, when I click the button to buy, the text above the button, and the button itself both don't hide, like they should, so I could end up overbuying..

    Also, it doesn't seem to be taking into account for if I already have some reagents in my inventory, as I had 1 Maiden's Anguish in my inventory already but it still bought 20 (only had 20 deadly poison queued), so I ended up with 21..

    I've logged this as http://jira.wowace.com/browse/SKL-42 and will try and fix it as soon as possible. Thanks for letting me know.

    You better make it support Possessions too then :p

    Sure thing, should be fairly easy to do.

    LibInventory is doing an inventory on all item in WoW, not only the ones in your character's possession. So there is no storing of items in relation to a character. So I don't see your idea fitting in there.

    Thanks for finding this post in here. I meant to track you down on IRC, but have been a bit behind on my todo list recently.

    But I think LibPossessions would be a fitting name for the lib your planning.

    Ahhh, now that is a good name, thanks. I think I'm going to use that.

    Feature request:

    the ability to clear the shopping list without having fulfilled it. I qeueued up some items on my bank alt, just playing with skillet when I first started using it, and now the shopping list shows up everytime I go to my bank on other alts, I don't have the mats listed, and don't need them, but I can't get it to go away...

    The shopping list is dynamically created from the recipes you have queued across all your alts. I guess I could hook the list items back to the recipe that needs them so that removing the item would unqueue the recipe on that alt. Just clearing the shopping list without clearing the queued recipe is not possible with the current design.

    Until this is done, you can just log on to your bank alt and clear the crafting queue(s) for that character.

    Edit: filed as http://jira.wowace.com/browse/SKL-41

    something odd happened when I added something to my queue it also adds things I could make

    That looks like http://jira.wowace.com/browse/SKL-20, and I've just now checked in a fix for that. Try out a newer version and see it it fixes it for you.

    also when making the window bigger for the screen cap I found that when I click the resize corner jumps a lot then acts as if my course is where it jumped to

    I've seen this happen as well and am trying to make the resize code a bit more stable.

    TSI and Skillet aren't playing nice together...

    [2007/10/31 21:18:50-605-x1]: TradeskillInfo-1.0.53238\TradeskillInfo.lua:363: AceHook-2.1: Attempt to hook method "GetExtraItemDetailText" failed, it does not exist in the given object "Skillet".

    Shows up upon login. Will post this there as well.

    Answered this in the Skillet thread. There was an old version of Skillet installed for some reason.

    1.8-51443. I update through WAU at least once a day, and no updates are showing up for it.

    Well, that .... odd. The current version from files.wowace.com is 1.10-53410. Version 1.8 did not have the method TradeSkillInfo is trying to access.

    I'm not using WAU anymore, so I don't know why it would not be picking up the newer versions.

    For right now you can download Skillet manually from http://files.wowace.com/Skillet/Skillet-r53410.3.zip. That should get Skillet working and give you some time to figure out why WAU is goofed.

    Skillet and tradeskillinfo aren't playing nice.

    I posted this in the thread for Tradeskillinfo as well, so maybe you guys can figure out what's causing this.

    [2007/10/31 21:18:50-605-x1]: TradeskillInfo-1.0.53238\TradeskillInfo.lua:363: AceHook-2.1: Attempt to hook method "GetExtraItemDetailText" failed, it does not exist in the given object "Skillet".

    Can you check and see what version of Skillet you have installed? "/skillet about" in a chat window should display it.

    Hmm... I must have another addon that changes the tooltip regarding this. Right now, when I open my Skillet and highlight the ingredient (in the right-panel), I see "Used In:" and the known recipes of the current character/current profession are listed. Not sure if Skillet is doing this.

    Nope, that's not something Skillet does.

    I would find it useful if the tooltip (or some portion of Skillet) would tell me that the same ingredient could be used by an alt for X recipe. This way I would know if I could send it to the alt instead of selling it.

    TradeSkillInfo (I think) does this already. If you'd like to see it added to Skillet, please file a request at http://jira.wowace.com/browse/SKL or write it up and send it to me and I'll file it. Since there are already mods that do this, it would not be at the top of the features-to-implement list, but it is a cool idea.

    i like to so an option to show an tooltip where i can see what item will be crafted

    as a Gem cutter it's hart to find the right gem because i don't know all the names :P
    so i have to click on the gem and then hover over the gem on the other side in the window to see if this is the 8agi/parry/dodge..... gem

    so a tooltip that shows me the stats of the gem would be nice :>

    This request is filed as http://jira.wowace.com/browse/SKL-8, and I am planning on addressing it in upcoming versions.
