    ** UPDATE Version 2.4.2.04 5/19/08 TESTING**
    • Joining the AceComm channel should now insert itself into the 1st AVAILABLE channel and will announce it when it has done so. PLEASE make sure you have all your CUSTOM channels to your liking before loading the mod in-game as you can't change the AceComm channel numbering.
    • Fixed errors when trying to accept quests from non Random Daily quest givers.

    AceComm should now default to using the next available channel then trying to insert itself into Channel 1. ** TESTING**
    You no longer have to accept a quest to populate the Random Daily info, just talking to the associated quest giver and it will grab the quest info needed. (This doesn't accept the quests for you, it's just populates the Random Dailies info)
    Show Me The Money! shows the monetary value of all dailies so you can hunt out the dailies that give you the most gold. This will also show if you've done the quest already by highlighting it in green.
    If a Random Daily is known (from you or gathered from a user), you can click the text and it will paste the daily with the associated info [Quest and Location] into the chat box, so you can let others know what the daily is without having to type it out. If you have the quest it will provide a [Quest Link], if you don't it'll be simple text.
    Fixed some of the changes Blizzard made to some daily rewards

    Not sure how AceComm manages the AceComm Channels, I'll see what I can do about making it use the next available channel instead of forcing itself first.

    This has been fixed with the latest update so the channel doesn't become sticky, which has already been stated from my post above yours.

    You can hide this in the options menu. Once I get everything working I'll add in something to that nature of showing how many users of the mod, or only have it show the dailies if you obtain them successfully from others.

    I just logged on with the 2.4.2 patch and I received no errors pertaining to my mod. I loaded it by itself and with other mods I use, and it working as intended.

    Can you be more specific as to what 'broke'?

    Ah I see what it is, looks interesting. Will have a look at it, but no guarantees.

    After looking at it some more, there is really no benefit to doing anything with these Block modules. They are very limited to what they can do and the only thing I can see them doing is displayed your daily quest count. Which you can already see from using FuBar or having it attached to your mini-map.

    How much more information would be needed? This mod was only intended to assist in you doing your dailies. Not really sure where your going on that.

    There will be an update in abit (after patch 2.4.2, maybe) where I've added the ability to grab the Random Dailies from other members using the mod (i.e. Fishing, Heroic etc..) so you don't always have to goto the quest giver to see the random dailies, and then can choose to do them or not. This HEAVILY depends on other users using the mod on your realm to work effectively.

    But you can always hide them if not needed. I'll post the update here once I officially release it.

    Got it all figured out and used the WHISPER approach that Shock mention, with holding a table of members in the channel and then sending whispers to peeps using my add-on.

    All members are sending a receiving data as expected. Thanks for the assistance.

    Interesting, I'm trying to get the list of people in the AceComm channel to try what Shock said with just getting a whisper list and GetChannelDisplayInfo() won't even return that AceComm is a valid channel. It'll display the header 'CUSTOM', but no channel lists within.

    I'm beginning to wonder if trial accounts are even able to send data in any sort through private channels, maybe to keep them from hijacking a mod to send spam?

    I made another trial account, to see with my Main and 2 trials accounts. And my Main wouldn't receive any data from them but they could get data from my main account.

    /Sigh. I didn't think it'd be this difficult just to send alittle bit of info back and forth to people using my mod.

    Set everything up the way you have it with the notes from the link and it still does the same thing, only player A can send the data. Player A won't receive anything from player B.

    They both are sending the data the exact same way, I don't know why player A won't accept any comm messages.

    This is the gist of the communication part here, oh BTW this was testing on my main account and a trial account, not sure if that is an issue? All the debug messages where correct, so player B knew what the info was being sent, just player A wouldn't receive it.

    I'm not fluent in LUA/WoW API. So I'm sure this is a heaping mess, but parts work perfectly and others, well meh!
