Find this line in GridFrame.lua under function GridFrameClass.prototype:PlaceIndicators():
Modify the first instance of the line if you have horizontal text alignment, the second if vertical like so:
f.Text2:SetPoint("RIGHT", f, "RIGHT", -2, 2) or
f.Text2:SetPoint("TOP", f, "CENTER", 0, 2)
The first number is the x, the second is the y axis offset, negative numbers are valid too. Note that you will have to do this each time you download a new version of grid.

Dec 15, 2008Thanks for the suggestion Phanx, I do know about Macaroon and for lack of a better alternative I am using it since 3.0 but for some reason it always bugs on me when configuring the bars. This is the list of custom states I would like to use as a druid:Posted in: AddOn HELP!
And the addon wouldn't allow me to build the buttons properly after setting the states. Tried with no other addons running, tried building the lua table manually, even tried with a fresh install of wow to no avail. Strangely enough if I leave out any of the mod keys it does work perfectly. I posted a bug report but Maul seems to be neglecting the mod lately.
Point is, it should be perfectly capable but sadly it is not. Bar mods seem to be going through a devolution of some kind. Flex Bar was the best out there even with its command line config, patch inc., no update. Then came Infinibar, again patch inc., no update. And now Macaroon which yet again is not getting much love from its author lately. I dread the day when I'll have to make the switch to Bartender, just not my cup of tea :) As I understand Blizz made some adjustments to button secure templates in 3.0 which is not helping the problem.
Oct 25, 2008Not that I am all against a pally specific mod but between grid, mik scrolling battle text and satrina buff frames it took me roughly five minutes to set up an interface that pretty much covers all of the above issues.Posted in: Addon Ideas
Oct 22, 2008Sounds very much like the opposite of what Cooldown Buttons does. Generally you have more skills available for use than in cooldown so CDB's way of presenting the information is faster to sort through at a glance and thus more reasonable. Nonetheless if you insist on your method then action bar mods is the way to go, simply apply a very distinct texture for the 'in cooldown' layer.Posted in: Addon Ideas
Oct 18, 2008Don't know if it matters that much but maybe this can save others from excessive hair loss: aggro color has changed from hex ff0000 to fe0000. Made me go nuts trying to figure out what was wrong with my comparison :(Posted in: Libraries
Oct 17, 2008I second that, or otherwise can somebody suggest a bar mod that is capable of addressing different ctrl / alt / shift state pages in EACH stance? Macaroon behaves much like Trinity used to in the sense that you get to the same page with, say ctrl held down regardless of your stance. Also something not restricted to the standard 120 blizz action slots would be nice... if such still exists after 3.x :)Posted in: AddOn HELP!
Oct 16, 2008I know the patch has everybody very busy right now but maybe someone can find the time for an answer: How should one go about excluding the statusbar from the frame alpha change? My problem is that I set the background to red and due to this when the range status changes indicator opacities that red hue tints my statusbars. I did unparent the bar and made a new layer linking the text indicators with the "master" frame but I'm sure there is a more elegant way of doing it and this half-solution also renders the bar color indicator useless. I tried something along the lines of multiplying statusbar RGB colors with an arbitrary value while setting the alpha to 1 which should mimic the opacity change on a dark background but since I am not educated in coding I don't know how to properly reference the bar or the RGB colors. My code looks something like this at the moment, please don't laugh :)Posted in: Grid & Grid2
-- under function GridFrameClass.prototype:SetIndicator... elseif indicator == "frameAlpha" then for x = 1, 4 do local corner = "corner"..x; if self.frame[corner] then self.frame[corner]:SetAlpha(color.a) end end self.frame:SetAlpha(color.a) -- added code below local r, g, b, a = self.frame.Bar:GetStatusBarColor() self.frame.Bar:SetStatusBarColor(r * 0.35, g * 0.35, b * 0.35, 1)
And then I just set the colors back in the clearindicators function by division.
So yeah :) How should I have written it? Is it even possible to set a child frame's alpha to higher than that of its parent?
