Worked on a similar project a couple of months back with a few others, Some of the big issues are traffic overheads and data redundancy, once clouds reach around 50 ppl we were getting some clients dropped from server, we alternated and used a throttle which made updates rather long winded and made it vunerable to ppl either starting to lag or logoff during updates hence the need for redudancy in you sync which sadly also increases your traffic overheads.
At some point during every update you will end up sending some form of representation of every record held by oneside of the update.

As i said in the original post aim is to turn off auto looting if it enabled before the lootframe opens and the game actually loots with the intent of the looting process been passed off to be controled by another function in the addon and after the loot_opened event has fired renabling auto loot.
But this is only going to be required in certain situations, but I don't want to interfere with the players normal looting preferences in situations where the addon wouldn't be applied hence the desire to make the toggling of auto looting transparent.
Aug 19, 2010Been digging through the blizz interface code for past couple of hours for insight but no luck.Posted in: Lua Code Discussion
What im wanting to do is hook into the onclick that occurs when a player clicks a corpse(or other various item) the one that will be prior to LOOT_OPENED event, with the aim of turning auto loot off temporarily if its actually enabled (too be turned back on after LOOT_OPENED has fired). But im kinda unsure on this one so any suggestions, pointers would be much appreciated.
