Romario:
You should look at Neal's player/target/raid frame placement. Its centered but not in the way. I do think that he has the frames move depending on if hes in a raid or not but even without the moving it seems at least similar for what you're going for.
When you zoom out your character is still centered and should still be covered by at least the cast bars. Maybe not when no one is casting.
If you're zoomed out while you and your target are casting your unit frames will be the same size while aoe circles will be smaller. I could easily see the unit frames + cast bars covering an armageddon at your feet on KJ.
To me a lot of your ui elements look huge. Your chat log look awkward; it seems like many entries would flow over to a second line. I'd recommend rethinking the proportions of some of your ui elements so that you can fit more without it all covering the bottom. Ya could try making a thin bar on the bottom of the screen with your config buttons and your bars.
Some random stuff~
Portraits: you should already know the status of self and probably target but a portrait on focus could be used to show if cc has broken early
Target of Target: Your ToT is so big that you could slice it in half and add ToTT
Pitbull: You could disable the highlight module, your name, and add square aura borders.
Buttons shown: I like to show things that have cooldowns and my possess bar. Just seems like it'd be easy to not know if evocate was up if you missed the 2 second long text notification.
Just tryin' to supply some feedback... as you can see on the previous page our ui's (and preferences) are quite different. If you wanna post about my ui feel free ;p
Used to have recount toggle off when in combat but it kept flickering due to combat pulses and it drove me crazy. I usually have key bindings not shown and right bar faded/hidden. Oh... and I pot out of my bag what a bad habit!
Are those BigWigs timers below your player frame? If not, what are they?
To get the castbar outline effect do you simply make your cast bar slightly larger than the unit frame and put it behind the frame while using a normal texture with texts set to be "outside of frame"? I tried Duke's space saving cast bar idea with an outline bar texture but did not like the look.
P.S. Looks like a pretty dangerous time to screencap! XD

Can you upload the graphic for the mini map button borders you use?

The texture for your unit frame buff and debuffs; is that available anywhere?
Always enjoyed your ui Neal... I particularly enjoy how unit frames adjust for group size!
