Still a WIP. Combat pic has older party frames. New ones look more like the radframes. Still have to set-up the DPS meter, altho I have no need for it. Might make the minimap fade to 15% instead of 0%.
Trying to find the perfect (tanking) solution for raiding and showing everything I need to know without it being OMGWTHINYOURFACE, thus all the in combat fading and elements at different opacities.
Jul 24, 2010Posted in: General ChatQuote from ObbleTempbeen a while since I was here, sup chaps. (Led, what the hell is my MSN email? i forgot :[)
And Phanx is still moody <3
If only I had even the slightest idea -.-* (my MSN is full of people which I have no idea about who they are.) Guess I'll have to clean the goddamn thing up.
Jul 9, 2010Posted in: General ChatQuote from feverflowswow- this is super clean, good balance of aesthetics and functionality!! use of colors is a little too carebares for my taste, but overall, this is great; really crisp. What's the deal with the fading buffs? i like it but i'm wondering how you did it ;) could i ask you to post a addon list?
general question, when i scale pixel fonts up to the size of the large ones in ur ui, they generally look shitty, do you have them on monochrome? or am i just scaling wrong?
imo, this is the best incarnation of ur work (been lurking for a long time)
Imo Carebears colors are a bit to Led's (me btw). ;)
Well the deal with the fading buffs is that I fade them because I don't need them. Same with raidframes, minimap. It's doen with Kong (http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info12550-KongUIHider.html#info)
On my UF's I have the font at Monochrome with shadow offset of 0 both on X and Y. Normal size is 8 I think so 16 should just be fine for it. Don't know if every pixelfont has a good big "alternative" tho.

Things that have been changed already:
Lynstats is hidden
2 actionbars at the bottomright placed a bit better
The DXE timers at the Topright are now placed above the threatmeter with the same opacity. With a spacing ofcourse so I can easily recognise it.
It's like a mix of my previous with what Ocu last posted, which is my previous previous or something. So it's a mix from py previous previous with my previous setting with some new shit. Wait, WUT?!
Comments appreciated. ;)
Jul 6, 2010Posted in: General ChatQuote from ocularisThanks for the praise. :)
Well, some of my buffs i dont need the tracking on, for holy shield for example, seeing it on cooldown is enough for me.
For all the other buffs / debuffs, i use a filger-ish addon below my cooldowns from the right to the left.
Could I perhaps see a screen of that pretty pleeaaase? :)

GODDAMNIT, seeing this makes me want to go back to that set-up myself. I hate you Ocu.
Btw, how do you kep track of some buffs like Holy Shield, trinkets etc. I mean searching that pile of mess that your buff frame is doesn't sound convenient.

Only thing changed since that pictures is that the left DXE timer bar is now where the buffs are in the ooc screen.
May 21, 2010Posted in: General ChatQuote from CalarindaLooks nice! Still not sure about the transparency personally, but looks nice overall. Not a fan of pixel fonts, either as I can barely read them, but if it works for you, it works.
One question: The red line above the player frame = swing timer I take?

My latest UI (on my laptop) which is my a reworked version of my last UI (inspired from Carebear) but ofcourse with changes I like and oUF_nin (<3 you).
Imo it's perfect for tanking. Who says small resolutions can't be minimalistic? ^^
May 16, 2010Posted in: General ChatQuote from danieldcDidn't manage to configure the power bars to add a 1 pixel black border so I'm just using the backdrop to act as a border (+1pixel larger on each side). Otherwise I'd change the backdrop to just a darker tone of the power color.
I'm using Stuf, in case anyone knows of a way.
Can't see anything wrong with the buff borders, but the timer text is a bit off yeah.
Use a kgPanel or a LitePanel or whatever panel mod you like for it and anchor them to the Unit Frames.
That's how I do it.
Apr 24, 2010Trying a few things with fading out. Also thinking of adding pet frames for party. All in all a small update.Posted in: General Chat
In and out of combat
Apr 17, 2010Posted in: General ChatQuote from twin2it's SWEET! only things i see that i would change are font outlines on nameplates and sbf. (sbf has that ugly shadow) and the nameplates has no monochromed outline too match the rest :>
True, but I suck so much at lua I don't have an idea how to do it. But tbh it doesn't really bother me.
