posted a message on Post-mortem analysis
You're focusing on a very specific circumstance: a tank dying due to insufficient heals. That may be a common circumstance, but certainly not the only one that a raid leader may want to look at, and perhaps not even the most interesting. Sometimes the more interesting post-mortem analysis are things like if a dps stood in the flame tsunami, or someone failed to get decursed, etc. And even within the specific circumstance of a tank and their healers, you can't necessarily tell the whole story; maybe the tank moved out of range/LoS, or stood in something that made their damage unhealable. It can be difficult to get too specific and still provide an adequate view of the data.

However, you are suggesting a couple of features that I would definitely like to introduce to Acheron at some point. One is a visual graph style output, which I think some people would prefer to look at.

The other is the notion of 'what was person x doing' versus 'what was being done to person x'. The latter is what Acheron provides, but I think the former can be an important tool, not only for post-wipe analysis, but also for performance analysis and improvement. Of course that gets into additional complication, because you may be more interested in what someone was doing at a specific time, and not necessarily in the seconds leading up to death. Managing and storing that data becomes more bothersome, because you can no longer make the simplifying assumption that you want to store the last y seconds of combat log.

Ah, I realize now that I recycled the config value with this change. It used to be the number of reports per player to keep, in which case a value of 4 sounds right. In retrospect, I should have deprecated that config value and created a new one. Lesson learned.

Any luck on reproducing this issue, or was it just a config value?

Looks like 3.0.8 did away with (or hid) _G[UIDROPDOWNMENU_INIT_MENU], which is what I was using to get the name of the unitframe for the right-click menu access to Acheron. Any ideas about what happened to it, a replacement or workaround?

That's weird. Maybe feign death IS sending a death event. I'll see if I can reproduce that with one of the hunters in my guild. Thanks for the report.

From the main UI, make sure that everything is checked (damage, healing, buffs, debuffs), make sure time to show is all the way up and damage to show is all the way down, and that should show everything.

Shouldn't be. Spirit of Redemption and Shadow of death are explicitly hardcoded, so unless Feign Death is suddenly sending a death combat log event...

Is it possible you have your filters set up such that you're not seeing whatever killed them?

Probably just missed a cleanup somewhere, I'll get it in the next checkin, thanks.

The most recent version has been released with the following, much requested updates, though:

    - Revamp of internal storage for combat logs. Acheron will now maintain and display a list of the last x number of deaths, chronologically ordered, when viewing the main UI without a player name selected. The number to keep and the number to display are both configurable from the config menu. The number of reports to keep around (when to delete an old report as a new one is created) is now configured in total, rather than on a per player basis.
    - You can now alt-click an individual combat log entry to report just that line
    - Fix Spirit of Redemption and Shadow of Death to actually behave like death events

TourGuide has Howling Fjorde, Borean Tundra, and Dragonblight completed (in addition to all the vanilla and TBC content). The rest are still being worked on.

    Quote from Asylum
I have it active when solo on my warrior but I can never get buff enough as it counts battle shout and commanding shout as the required buffs. In a raid with two warriors this doesn't matter as I can get both buffs but solo I can't.. Can I make the status thing show green if I have either of these buffs when solo and if so, how do I do it?

With the latest version, it should be expecting Battle Shout unless you're prot-specced. Can you confirm what version you're using?

    Quote from Asylum
Secondly, debuffenough only shows it checker window when I have a mob targetted, would it be possible to also make buffenough work the same way? (i.e only show when I am actively fighting a mob?)

They're slightly different use-cases. Typically, you want to see if you're "buff enough" before you start combat, whereas you want to see if a mob is "debuff enough" during combat. Warriors are a slightly special case, since they have a very short buff which is typically only desirable when combat starts. But BuffEnough should show in both combat and non-combat situations (unless you have fading turned on).

That should have been fixed a couple of versions ago. Are you still seeing that behavior with the latest version?
