Ok so, always trying to improve UI look, i'd like with Assessment to have all the bar using a single color (i tried using Custom as said with /print assessment.colortype, but they all went yellow and no way to change) and instead, color the name ala Pitbull [Name:ClassColor]

    Would that be possible ?

To get a consistent color on all of the bars, just leave the color type entry empty, and set the default color for each bar.

You'll need to hack in a ClassColor tag into GroupMembers.lua though to change the color of the text. Maybe I'll add that in the next few days when I finish some travelling.

Anyone else having issues with assessment not reporting past the 1st line? In /g and /o I just get one line, in a custom channel it sends the first line and then spams something about only being able to send a certain number of messages. Works fine in /say.

As hinted, Blizzard has disallowed sending multiple line messages to guild, chat channels for the moment, and it looks like they'll be reenabling it soon.

Lately (not sure exactly when this started), my Aloft castbars have broken. The appear to start when a spell starts being cast, but then get stuck and never get past about a tenth of the way. The time display for the cast also seems to display the wrong numbers and update oddly. The rest of the Aloft display seems fine. Anyone else seeing this?

I have a theory why this happens...

Aloft's castbars are handled internally by WoW. Aloft doesn't actually update them at all, it just re-styles and re-positions them.

Have you rebooted your computer lately at all?

My theory is that once the computer has been on for a certain amount of time, the timers that WoW uses internally lose precision and cause problems with the internal castbar.

Should be easy enough to prove/debunk.. I've never seen the castbar problems myself unfortunately. :(

So does anybody have a solution to getting assessment to show Instant DPS rather than combat time DPS?

Thanks to lightstrike on Elitist Jerks forums, Asssessment r52520 now has an activity module; and comes with Instant DPS and a few other extra display sets by default.

Just recently downloaded this and am checking it out. I might be missing it but is there an option or a way to get an absolute value on display sets rather than an abbreviated value (i.e 148571 damage instead of 148k?

Just modify the text tags (display set -> <display set name> -> text -> text#) to use [BarValue] instead of [BarValue:Short]

I have no idea if this question was asked already or not. Is there a way to make the nameplates clickable to target that mob? I am certian that with the default nameplates you can do that. This would make it infinitly more useful for my play style.

It should already work like that, unless you've disabled it under Aloft->Frame options.

Just for testing, can I get you to remove ParserLib and LibParser-4.0 and just have Parser-3.0 running to see if there's something going weird there with memory?

I have assessment set to retain the last three combat sessions only. While FuBar_PerformanceFu only ever lists assessment at ~20mb or so max, my total used memory steadily climbs over the course of the raid to where it puts me at 300-600mb used by the time we're done. Doing a garbage collection at that point knocks it down by about 20-30mb, but doesn't reclaim the massive amount used. Even more strangely, PerformanceFu doesn't list any addon as using more then 20mb or so.

300-600mb is absolutely huge, and I've never seen anything remotely like it.

Would you be able to make a list of the addons/libraries you're using?

Maybe there's some conflict/compatibility layer problem.

Missing end of parameter list ")" near "Orig..." (62)

Sorry, looks like I had a typo and put two "::" instead of one. Try

    [Name:OriginalHealthBarColor] [TargetName:Prefix("Target: ":OriginalHealthBarColor):Bracket]

I really like the death log feature of Assessment. A useful detail i miss is that i can't see if melee hits were critical or crushing. Is it possible to add this?

Grab r52201 or later. It'll put a "*" after crits/crushing blows in the death log.

I have a problem seeing the raid icon sometimes (skull) when I mark them (I'm using hotkey). I often do first target kill-marking for the MH trash and sometimes Aloft doesn't display the skull correct, but checking my Pitbull target frame I see the raid icon.

Anyone else having this problem? I haven't really had a huge amount of time to play since 2.2.x, but I never noticed this problem with 2.1..

I've been using Aloft quite some time now. It's a wonderful addon.

Just updated to a newer version and had to user-mod the CoreModules/frame.lua file to suit my needs:
    231 backdropFrame:SetWidth(profile.width+healthBarProfile.width+8)
    232 backdropFrame:SetHeight(profile.height+healthBarProfile.height+8)

Otherwise the border (Blizzard Tooltip) could not be sized to exactly fit the healthbar.
You might consider changing this in the official version, allowing a smaller borderframe.

Rather than make everyone adjust their Aloft configurations, I've just committed r52008 which allows frame width/height to go down to -10.. so if you set it to -2, it'll achieve what you're looking for, without making everyone else adjust their configurations/presets.

    Also I have another question/request:
My question would be if it is somehow possible to move the nameplates up a bit.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any reliable way to move nameplates around. A while ago, I wanted to make a module for Aloft that would position enemy nameplates at a particular location on the screen, sorted by remaining HP%; but couldn't figure out any way that the API would permit that.

Unfortunately this problem still is unsolved. I already tried to delete the saved variables without success.

    Does someone have an idea?

Try r51982 or later and let me know how it goes. I think the problem was with reporting with no titles enabled.

Still seeing this issue, at least I think it's the same one. In this case, I was in Darskshore. When I first encountered Moonstalker Runts, they properly did not have any comment text. Later I encountered a Moonstalker Matriarch; those have a Runt as a pet. Those Runts would properly have "Moonstalker Matriarch's Minion" as comment text. However, after that encounter, ordinary Runts started appearing with the comment text of the Matriarch pet Runts. Mousing-over or targetting them doesn't fix it, in fact this continues to persist despite a quit and relog.

If you don't use your own comments, then one way around this issue and to speed up loading/quitting is to disable comment data saving between sessions. Do this under Aloft -> Data -> Comments

Or you can reset the database.

Okay, let's see if you can give me this one.

I want it to come out like this:

    Thortok (Target: Sirex)

I want the owner of the bar's name to be colored the default 'text color', not the default bar color (When I say 'text color', I mean green for friendly npc's and friendly pvp-enabled players, red for enemy npc's and enemy pvp-enabled players when you're also pvp-enabled, yellow for neutral npc's and enemy pvp-enabled players when you're not pvp-enabled, and blue for all non-pvp enabled players (but preferably a different shade of blue than the official 'shaman' color, if possible)). If it is not possible to get the pvp status of the player just from his bar, before you target or mouseover him, then 'assume' the player has the same pvp status that I do, until the data gets updated by a target or mouseover. (I've asked for 'text color' before, but after testing, it seems to be based on the bar's original color, not on the default color of the text above characters' heads. For instance, all friendly players are blue, whether they are flagged or not.)

To simplify what I mean by 'text color'...I mean the color of the text as it would appear if all the bars were turned off and you saw Blizzard's default text above people's heads. THAT color.

Then, I want the (Target: ) part to be colored in the same way, but based on the 'text color' of the target instead of on the owner of the bar's text color. And then the target's name, if it's a player, to be colored based on the player's class, and if it's not a player, to be colored via 'text color' so it matches the (Target: ) part.

I'd also like to be able to hide "all unflagged players", unless they're in my group, while still showing all flagged players, even if they're not in my group.

Confused yet? =P I don't mean to sound demanding, but that would be exactly how I'd set my settings, if I could.

Right now, it isn't possible. It can get close with:

    [Name:OriginalHealthBarColor] [TargetName:Prefix("Target: "::OriginalHealthBarColor):Bracket]

    The faults are:

    1. The colors aren't quite right.
    2. The TargetName isn't colored according to the target's class
    3. There's no tracking of pvp flags, nor can Aloft realistically track them unfortunately :( With no API available to determine if a player is pvp flagged, and for pvp flagging being a transient property (ie. caching results isn't accurate enough to be worth storing), there's not much else to do.
