Are there any known profile issues?

I didn't see any in the issues list on Google, but I'm having some trouble with my per character profiles and my Basic bar. I'll try to explain without making it too confusing...

I have two characters using their own character profiles. Char #1 was set up last week when I started using the alpha. I set up the Basic and Hunter bars how I wanted them and all was well. Yesterday, I played Char #2 for the first time since installing the alpha. I was surprised that my Basic bar was positioned correctly and had a lot of the buttons disabled that I usually disable, since when I set it up for Char #1, all the bars were full of all buttons and positioned in a default place. I didn't think about it too much and just reset the Basic bar a few times to try to get it to defaults, then I set it up how I wanted it and disabled the Druid bar.

Today I logged Char #1 back in, and the buttons on it are the buttons from Char #2. I tend to set everything up the same, except Char #1 is my raiding main and I always disable the hearth button on that character to save space, but my playing alts I leave it enabled. The hearth button is back on Char #1 when it should have been off, and this is making me realize that yesterday, when I was surprised that things were more or less already set up for Char #2, before I reset it, the hearth button was disabled. It seems like Char #1 and Char #2 are somehow sharing a Basic bar despite using per character profiles.

ETA: I also noticed it in the trinket buttons... I disabled trinket 2 on my alt, and now my main also has it disabled.

I'm afraid we had the same experience on Naj'entus in Black Temple this tuesday, most of us ran the latest Omen from that day and a few minutes into the fight, atleast half of the raid got completely frozen screens and had to restart. Needless to say, we uninstalled Omen after that :(

Hrm... we had a similar experience in Hyjal on Tuesday. Right as wave 2 before Kaz'rogal was starting, more than half the raid locked up at the exact same time and had to either kill the game from the task manager or reboot their computers. We all assumed it was a server issue at the time, which in retrospect seems silly because at least 3-4 people were fine. And I know one of them wasn't running Omen at all... he stubbornly sticks with KTM.

Can you screenshot where you have it in the UI so I can see how you're using it?

This is the bottom right corner of my UI. The first shot shows how it normally is positioned (although shows a slight other oddity that I've noticed occasionally where there's some text sandwiched in between 2 bars). The second shows where it's shifted up. There's no bars showing but you should be able to see the shading of the backdrop where it ends right about where the title bar started before. It was growing upwards from that point.

This is with version 67752... it doesn't seem to be remembering position very well. I have it locked into place, but it's moving up and down on zoning, and it seems to be growing upwards, even though it's set to grow downwards. It almost looks like when the window moves up, the bottom is getting set to where the title bar was before and then it grows upwards from there.

I took some screenies but I'm in the middle of a raid so I can't resize/chop it up yet. :)

I noticed last night that I seemed to be unable to disable the cooldown bars. The option in the menu was not checked but they were still showing up.

In Bongos2, you say, "This bar should show the buttons on bar3 when in cat form, and bar2 when in bear form" Lets call this bar mirroring. Bongos2 could get away with bar mirroring, since every bar has the same effective size. Bongos3, however, does not have that limitation. So telling Bongos3 that you would want bar 1 to show the buttons on bar 2, when bar 2 is 1 button, and bar1 is 30, would not make very much sense. So instead, you tell Bongos3, "This bar should have this many sets of buttons. When I'm in cat form, use set 2, when I'm in bear form, use set 3, otherwise use set 1"

Thanks for this explanation! I had a lightbulb moment this morning and I realized vaguely that this was how it was supposed to work, but this explanation really clears up the why. :)

That's why I'm thinking of using tabbed bars to better represent the system. You'll have instant feedback that, "this bar is actually two bars", and also, "I don't have enough buttons around to add another bar to this one"

The wacky part comes in when you attempt to dock one bar to another, when both bars are different sizes. I'm probably going to take the approach of showing a prompt: "Do you want to resize this bar to fit onto this bar?"

I think this sounds like a good idea.

    What am I missing? ???

I'm starting to feel like I'm just talking to myself. :) It's taken me several days of trying, but I think I finally figured it out. The part of the documentation that wasn't clear (maybe it's just me) is that you don't page to a separate actual physical bar anymore. I had set up my 4th bar, hid it like in Bongos2, and was trying everything I could to page to that bar.

I'm sorry... I've read this whole thread, I've read the wiki page... I still don't understand the paging. :( All I want to do is to be able to press Shift-4 to go to my PvP bar when I PvP or do arena. I changed the action sets for bar 1 to 4, but now I don't get what I'm supposed to do to make the Shift-4 part work.

    I feel really dumb. :(

Ok, before the sliders on the paging tab were not moving, so that is why I think I couldn't figure out how to do it. I kept changing the number of action sets for the bar, but the sliders were all stuck on 1. Now they are moving.

I have 4 action bars; 3 are visible, the 4th is hidden but full of buttons. I set up bar 1 to have 4 action sets. I moved the Paging slider for "Page 4" to 4. Now, when I hit shift-4, I get all empty buttons in bar 1.

    What am I missing? ???

I installed SCT and SCTD today as a stop-gap since Parrot was an ex-Parrot. It truly drove home to me just how superior Parrot is, and how much easier it is to configure to my likings.

Yeah, I used SCT for many happy months/years, but decided to try Parrot to see what it was like when it first came out, because there were just some things in SCT that I could not fix. Namely, at the time, I was BM, and it was frustrating me to no end that I could either turn my pet's damage off or I could live with a section full of scrolling spam that kept overflowing its normal boundaries because his attacks were so fast and there was no way to filter it.

I was surprised that Parrot came out of the box pretty much configured just how I would have done it. The test mode helped greatly with the things I needed to change, and I just preferred the overall "look" over how I had things in SCT. I am not looking forward to reconfiguring SCT. :)

It doesn't have as many options (yet apparantly), but you can make the window narrower with the drag handle in the lower right corner, and you can turn off the top title bar and the bottom button bar. It's not bulky at all when those are turned off.

As a hunter I don't have to feign until about 110%-115%, but the warning keeps going off anytime I'm over 90% and keeps spamming me with that stupid explosion sound ever time I do damage.

Man apparantly I am the only one that can't get it to display the warning message/play the warning sound at all! ;)

Oh noes! :) I guess I just assumed that it had been updated in the middle of everything else today, since it's half working.

I can certainly appreciate real life demands. I'll be crossing my fingers for a break in your schedule though. ;)

At Azgalor tonight, instead of 1 warning each time for "AOE Silence Soon!" and "AOE Silence!", I got 25 warnings every time. I have a custom Parrot area for BigWigs notifications if it makes any difference.
