Thanks Dahn that's great :)
When will the 2.0 versions of the mod be ready for DL? I can see them in branches now but I don't want to imagine trying to get 60 people to get it that way.
Thanks for the hard work all of you, much appreciated!

Dec 2, 2006The key is the password for your DKP broadcast. This is what you need to keep totally secret, known only to the trusted members of your guild who are going to actually be running bids. The less people the better really.Posted in: General AddOns
Also I'm not sure if you know but the only thing that is really at risk is your points database. This is what is broadcast with the /dkp bcast command. It's also the only thing people can mess up. If someone without authority does a /dkp bcast it will overwrite everyone who uses DKPmon and thus blow your points out of the water.
As far as the item values and raid values and what not, they are safe. Those values are not broadcast by /dkp bcast. So really all you have to watch out for is someone who might be stupid enough to try to run a bid, with their own item values and such. That would be pretty obvious to any officer because it will say who is starting the bid in the chat box.
Then you just Gkick that fool, and move on.
For myself I never talk about DKPmon to the guild. Only the officers are informed of it and only 3 of them know the broadcast password.
Dec 1, 2006I'm having trouble finding the module for eqdkp export, is it linked someplace? All I could find was the first revision that is posted earlier in this thread. From reading the later posts I gathered there was a new one?Posted in: General AddOns
Also, how does one get to the branches svn? Or is that only for devs?
I was hoping to use the module to import my eqdkp data since I have to do this every day it seems. Wish I could get a grasp on LUA. So I could help bring over the native EQDKP export that CTRT has. Just can't get my brain around the LUA thing though.
Nov 14, 2006Wow amazing work Dahn. Can't wait until you've finalized all this stuff.Posted in: General AddOns
Eraslin, the chatframe error he mentions is one of the errors I get that I told you about in my email earlier.
Glad to see this is working out so nice. I don't think my guild would approve of us NOT using this anymore. I just can't wait for the eqDKP export/import to be working 100%. having to run CTRT is really annoying lol.
Thanks both of you!
Nov 7, 2006It's a great mod. But there are some bugs I've found. I'm going to send it to Eraslin sometime tomorrow and hope he can help sort it out. Just some weird things going on once in a while.Posted in: General AddOns
Guild loves the mod and the bidding process but they don't trust it for it's point tracking. And a eqdkp export option like CTRT would be the holy grail. The CSV option in DKPmon just doesn't work. I've tried it many times and all I get is invalid errors from EQDKP.
Still, it's so good that they refuse to go back to doing loot the old way.
Oct 28, 2006Anyone else using this mod getting an error from Bidder (apparently) when trying to configure your chat channels? I have a user who is. When he goes to the chat options menue and trys to activate the channel pop out menu he gets the following error:Posted in: General AddOns
Interface\FrameXML\FloatingChatFrame.lua:476: attempt to index local `color' (a nil value)
He said he had only Bidder, PerfectRaid and BigWigs installed and had just deleted all his mods. He removed BigWigs and PerfectRaid and the error remained. Turned them back on and turned Bidder off and the error returned.
Also, if anyone is using this to update EQDKP, is there some sort of trick to doing it? When I try the Parse Log command on the Add Raid page, all I get is an empty list. I'm having to run CTRT_modded still to keep my dkp site updated.
I'd appreciate any insight into either problem. Thanks a lot :)
Oct 23, 2006Yeah so Lua is way beyond me.Posted in: General AddOns
However, sunday my guild used this and aside from some learning curve and the inevitable people who didn't download Bidder despite ample and frequent warnings it worked amazingly.
I just need to figure out why I couldn't award points. Pretty sure it's a config error I made.
It's awesome though, sped up looting quite a bit once I got the hang of it.
Oct 20, 2006Having DKPMon pull prices from a tooltip mod would be absolutely perfect. My guild uses HoBDKP, which I *think* uses the new itemvalue calculation. You can find that on Cursed Bjcar, if you wanted to check out it's values.Posted in: General AddOns
I think I might try to dive into this lua thing and see if I can do the modification. Having a dynamic pricing system attached to DKPMon will be a god send with TBC and the thousands of new items that will bring.
Oct 14, 2006I like the Bidder idea. If you're in a raiding guild and the members refuse to load a tiny addon like Bidder, that'd be weird because guild officers always ask members to use addons. What's the difference of one more tiny one? I dunno.Posted in: General AddOns
Anyway, if it was possible to use the same method of export as CTRT that would be awesome. I just wish there were a lazy-man (read that "busy guild officer") way to import the item data. Even so, I'm sure it'll be worth it once it's up and running.
On that note, would it be possible to add to your googlepage a detailed explanation on how to use DKPmonInit? I couldn't find instructions on how to do that import anywhere.
Thanks Eraslin, this looks hugely promising!
Oct 9, 2006My first post is a bump! Sad :(Posted in: Addon Ideas
But yeah, I think an Ace2 CTRT with dkp update functionality, like ctrt-freddy's mod, would be a huge boon to all eqdkp raiding guilds.
Oh, and thanks to all you modders for making such awesome addons!
