Sep 15, 2008Been using kG for improving my UI's appearance. Thought I'd have a go at scripts. Created a panel and enabled mouse click, in the 'OnClick' typed - self:Hide(); did'nt work! However if I open config and click 'Accept' again in the 'OnClick' panel, it works. If I reload the same thing happens. How can I make it happen every time I reload or change character?Posted in: General AddOns

to get a reference to a frame you already made i.e. assume you have a panel you name 'Minimap Background'
your script can do the following:
local mmFame = kgPanels:FetchFrame("Minimap Backgorund")
This has always been provided so you do not need to know the frames raw name at all.
Mino pixel shift can occur if your other video settings are not all exatcly the same, including uiscale and resolution.
Thanks that works. I assume that the left hand text can be any memorable name. How do I use this in macros? I have a panel that I want to hide when I change action bars via a macro. I've tried putting the 'FetchFrame' script in the macro - no joy.
I seem to have a bug with FrameFinder. Sometimes when I load up it isn't there i.e. has disappeared from the keybind menu
Aug 23, 2008Hi! I'm new to panels & scripts so please bear with me! First query; why do you have umpteen places after the point in measurements? Presumably the system can't handle anything less than a pixel. I was impressed by the naming of panels, much easier to remember the panel's purpose. I assumed that you could use these in scripts but couldn't find a way. The only reference in the forum to panels, apart from 'Self', used the panel number, which I adapted & got some scripts & macros running. Then disaster struck! I removed a panel and a lot of the numbers changed - no scripts working. I knew you would re-number them but assumed that, since the panel I had removed was later than those in the scripts, the panels I was addressing would be OK, but no. I conclude that you must be able to use the panel names, if so could you please enlighten me.Posted in: General AddOns
A minor point is that sometimes, when I load another character, some panels have moved slightly; only a few pixels but noticeable and a bit irritating. I use the same profile for all my characters and all the panels, apart from the pet, are parented, and anchored, to the UIParent. Is there an explanation for this?
I hope you can resolve the above points for me as I am keen to progress although still a 'newbie' - I didn't progress beyond Visual Basic!!
Aug 23, 2008Two problems I've found.Posted in: General AddOns
1 - When doing a castsequence the icons on the main and pop up buttons don't change (the sequence works). I've tried show tooltip but no go. Am I doing something wrong?
2 - The icon on my summon voidwalker doesn't update shard number on the main button, the pop up does.

love the addon but having problems with key binding. I bound a key to a Poppins main button - OK, I then tried to unbind it; I pressed 'Esc' on mouseover and got the unbound message and mousing over the button it says 'button unbound'. However the binding key still shows in the button and pressing it activates the button. What's wrong?
Jul 17, 2008I've had Poppins for about a week and am very pleased with it. However, yesterday (after the weekly maintenance??!!) I've had problems. Most of the buttons disappeared from the screen although the buttons still appeared in config, and most of the profiles were empty. I downloaded again, deleted poppins from 'Addons and reinstalled.I createdtwo buttons with popups and opened a new profile (by the way I assume that any changes are automatically saved since there is no Save button),logged out and came back in - no buttons and this timr no buttons appear in config. What's gone wrong? A minor point is that when I set up these new buttons the icons were dim i.e. not as bright as they appear on the action bar.Posted in: General AddOns
