Ok i'm not interested in the entire UI i love mine too much, even if it's a really nice pieve of work but, i'd like to know how u got that gloss effect on the minimap, it's seems "different". which addon/file is giving that kind of glow and how hard would that be to have the same on Chinchilla ?
i'm using custom .blp files in my SimpleMiniMap/skins/ folder. I also created .tga versions of the map overlays though, for those who use something other than SimpleMiniMap - and would rather just use eepanel overlays. smmGloss.zip or smmDark.zip are the files you want to grab from here:
Damn, that looks pretty cool, actually. Love the Unit Frames! What texture is that on them?
I think it was either DsmB4.tga or DsmB3.tga. There are 9 different variations of that bar theme (DsmB1-DsmB9) I created that are only slightly different from each other in terms of contrast or lighting. You can grab them from my MyMedia folder in this UI. Some extra stuff of mine is in there also like 6 borders, backgrounds, etc.
All those people posting their ZMC+UnitFrame combo's have corrupted me to give into trying them out =P Really fun to mess with so far though, just wish the pitbull portrait module could be positioned and sized like that (without changing the addon code) - but oh well pitbull already has given more than enough already.
First version of the cube style UI. Comes with a lot of extra textures so the style of the frames can easily be changed between different sizes/strengths of the cubes. 1440x900 and higher widescreen resolutions should work fine, but if any of you were lucky enough to get a widescreen larger than 1440x900 please post a pic because I'm curious to how the frame texture displays in higher widescreen resolution =) Don't have time to jump into a BG at the moment but raid/party frames are configured and should be fine.
Current strange layout idea (hate doing the same things over again). Never needed or liked a lot of stuff showing on the screen, but the hidden stuff would be Parrot handling the cooldown alerts, chat controlled by Minichat, minimap display bound to F9, etc.
indeed ive followed some mini guides on getting the bars to go vert but i have yet had any luck
It's incredibly simple so you must be overdoing something. All you do is use notepad (wordpad will screw up formatting) and change the two "HORIZONTAL" entries to be "VERTICAL" instead. Then just rotate any textures that you are using 90 degrees clockwise or counter clockwise (so they are 32x256 instead of the normal 256x32).
If you cannot do it still you can use this file I created. I just grabbed the latest Pitbull, deleted a few annoying modules, and rotated the included Cilo.tga inside the media folder. Please backup your current /Interface/ and /WTF/ folders and remove them from the WoW folder, and load this Pitbull folder with fresh settings. I'm not sure if previous settings cause problems, but it might be as only some people seem to not be able to get the vertical frames working. I'll remove this file in a day or two, just because its only an example file and I dont want to maintain yet another thing, so back it up for later use if you want.
I also included a Pitbull settings file (in the /WTF_file/ folder) also that has very basic changes I made to support the vertical frames (just sizing and some text and module positioning).
Yep, Seerah's right, I saw them too.
It's something about setting some "HORIZONTAL" parameters in the lua-file to "VERTICAL" (but not all, as I remember correctly).
Correct. You simply open Pitbull.lua with notepad (or anything else that wont screw up formatting) and search for and change the two "HORIZONTAL" entries to "VERTICAL". Don't change the two "Horizontal spacing" entries though, only the "HORIZONTAL" entries (which I believe are the second and fourth search result entries that you should find). You will want to rotate any textures you plan on using 90 degrees clockwise or counter-clockwise, depending on how you want the texture bevel to appear. After changing all of this I always removed any previous Pitbull SavedVariables and built the new vertical frames from a freshly loaded profile, not that it would matter much though. Change frame dimensions and statusbar texture upon loading and config away :)
I try and update the addons and improve the interface when I can, the file is dsmUI_v3 currently. 1440x900 resolution only at the moment and built by a crazy keybinder, plenty of room for more bars though below or somewhere. Big thanks to all the addon authors who make such fun addons to configure.
I made a couple posts about this on the WoW forums. While its certainly not an amazingly 'ideal' method, I created the appearance you are describing by using the Pitbull healthbar in combination with Icehud power bars and basic configuration settings. This also allowed me to use Icehud's casting bar which is also vertical and easily positioned where I wanted. Matching the appearance of the frames was the only thing remotely challenging about doing it. I didn't make it look pretty or anything obviously, I just wanted to see if it was possible (I like the stacked vertbars more anyway :P). It could be turned into something nice I'm sure by somebody who wants to invest the time, would allow you to keep the perks and appearance of Pitbull and have a very unique interface also.
I'm delsim, just posting here on my brothers wowace username. I posted the Icehud textures I configured and used, they are both on the above thread, which may save you some effort atleast while you get it setup. I was only able to upload the .png format of them, so whoever wants to use them will have to quickly convert them to blp format.
edit: here's a picture with a few more ideas of how you can get the stacked pitbull ones to end up looking.
You can choose the reverse option on the power or health pitbull bars also so one fills downward and the other upward, etc (didnt use that much yet though).
Vertical pitbull ftw ;) dunno just toying around with them in this shot so didnt finish configuring things like buffs. Only have to change two words to get it started.. search and change the two words of "HORIZONTAL"in the pitbull lua to become "VERTICAL" instead. Dont change any 'horizontal spacing' values though, only the two (two or three) "HORIZONTAL" entries. Found this out a month ago or so but had the urge to start a layout using them just today, pretty fun change of pace though.

Open up the Portrait.lua file inside the /Portrait/ module folder for Pitbull. Search for the line:
portraitBG:SetTexture(0, 0, 0, 0.25)
Change the 0.25 to 0.00
The Portrait will now be free of the static background color it always has :)
