    Ok not totally sure how this addon works. It was said at the beginning of the thread that you have to be in cat form and the values would change, but that doesn't seem to happen (either form gives you the same points).

    The numbers will change, but it is usually several decimal points it, so you probably wont see it on the tooltips.
    Quote from Gahlok »

    Then we have the values that are shown up: lets say I have an equipped chest and another in my bags. The equipped chest says 18.53 and the one in the bags says 17.21. So the one in the bags is 17 poinst better than the one I have equipped?

    If you mouse over an item in your character pane the numbers are calculated by finding your current score, and then your score with the item removed.

    If you mouse over an item the value is as if you replaced the item you are currently wearing with that item.

    Quote from Gahlok »

    And then if I switch those two, the new item on the chest comes up with 17.05 points while the one that switched placed (and is now on the bags) is 4.77.

    *confused*

    This sounds like there might be a set bonus that is not being taken into account, or maybe with the new chest you are not meeting your meta gem requirements. For the set bonus, I can certainly fix that, but for the meta gem, I am not sure when/if I can support that.

    Can you tell me the two chest items in question, and possibly an armory link of your character?

    I second what was said: CatPoints is really a usefull addon :)
    I use it with wowequip (to make "fake" items and see their score) and RatingBuster.

    What is Bedazzler ?

    It is a work in (slow) progress, but it lets you define gem sets and then you can feed it an item link and it will spit out two item links, one with the colors matched and one with the gem you set as your "best" gem.

    A lot of rating type addons want to give a static value to a slot based on its color, and that is obviously a little too general. Also, if you can't get the epic T6 level gems, you don't want to weight things too heavily, you want to use the best gems you have reasonable access to, which is what this is for.

    I haven't used wowequip, and it may be that it has some overlapping functionality.

    hm I'm a Jewelcrafter, so I think all Gems should be in the Catch :/

    Hope You find the time to "fix" Bedazzler, this + CatPoints,are the best druids addon imo :P

    Catpoints alone is super but with Bedazzler it's Perfect ^^

    Ha!, flattery always helps :)

    I'm glad to know someone else finds it useful, I wasn't sure if it was helpful to other people.

    Thanks for the answer about caps ;)
    Now the follow up question.

    Example: Crit immune bear (def/res capped)
    Comparing cloaks: 1) has 200 armor, 30 stam and 20 def; 2) has 350 armor 56 stam.
    Would the 2nd one come out as better if the def loss would still leave me crit immune?
    Reasoning, when crit immune, stacking stamina and armor is far better then getting tiny amounts of dodge from defense.

    In most cases the second one should show as better, even if it does leave you vulnerable to crits, but it is hard to say. The main reason I wrote this addon is because all the static lists out there don't really tank into account what you are wearing and what your stats are. In this case, if cloak 2 lists as better, but drops you below the immune cap, you would want to see where you could make it up.

    unfortunately I dont have a good way to fix this, the best method I have see is posted here:
    http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=9014.0

    I will see what I can do about changing the chat window.

    Bedazzler is pretty low priority for me at this point, but I would like to fix it.

    Good question, yes the caps are taken into account.

    The hit cap is 9%.
    The expertise cap is 5%.
    The crit cap is 75% for specials and 75-miss+dodge for white attacks.

    The armor cap is 75% reduction against a level 73 mob using the equations from wowwiki (35880 armor).
    Defense and resilience cap crit reduction appropriately, taking into account a 5.6% crit rate from bosses and 1% reduction for each point in survival of the fittest.

    The damage reduction of dots from resilience is not taken into account, meaning that the value of resilience is 0 if you are crit immune. Defense still adds dodge and hit reduction so its value is greatly reduced if you are crit immune but it is not capped.

    Thanks, and what anout values in/out brackets?

    Elp is correct, the number in the () considers the set bonus (I assume you are wearing the primalstrike set?) and the other number just compares raw stats.

    I was just trying to figure something: when you hover an item you do not wear it displays thegain or loss in points for this specific item, right ? If it is the cas then what is displayed when you hover an item you are wearing ? is it the "score" obtained by this item ?

    This is kinda faked out in that it counts the value you would lose by taking the item off (then negating it).

    It also is a little screwy with trinkets and rings in that the top slot is an absolute value, and the bottom is relative.

    That brings up a good point, I think I'll change the absolute value to Yellow so it is at least visible that they are different.

    Hi bashui!
    Can you provide some help on addon?
    What mean all variables? If CatDPS is obvious, but Tabk and BearEff not so clear...
    What mean values in/out of brackets?
    And explain on abbreviation after "equiv" command.
    Thanks, your addon is great!

    Tank is for bear form and takes into account agility dodge, stamina, armor, etc.
    BearEff is similar but ONLY counts health (stamina) and armor.

    The new meta gem (Chaotic Skyfire Diamond) has a text of

    "+12 Spell Critical & 3% Increased Critical Damage"

    The 12 spell crit rating is not parsed here.

    is the melee version parsed, I couldn't find it.

    TYVM Jerry! I'll try to ge this integrated ASAP.

    I should disable the addon if it doesn't have any info for you. I think I may be adding a little item for my hunter some time soon, so I will think on it more.

    The numbers are relative to what you have equipped, if you have something in that same slot. If you are mousing over your character screen, it estimates the value of the item by calculating the value if you removed it and inverting. One of the screwy things here though is the trinket and ring slots. Comparisons are always done against the top slot. I need to do something about that, I just haven't gotten around to it.

    You can also get values from gems, and I hope to add in enchants soon (since I strip off enchants before I do the comparison).

    I ended up doing the following to do the equipped set detection:

    function CatPoints:LinkSet(link)
    	local bonus = self.Bonus:ScanItemLink(link, true)
    	if(bonus and bonus.set) then
    		local b = bonus.set:gsub("%W", "")
    		bonus.bonuses[b]=1
    		return b,bonus.bonuses
    	end
    	return nil, bonus.bonuses
    end

    function CatPoints:UpdateSets()
    	local set= {}

    	for x=1,18 do
    		local equippedLink = GetInventoryItemLink("player",x)
    		if(equippedLink) then
    			local setName = self:LinkSet(equippedLink)
    			if(setName) then
    				set[setName] = (set[setName] or 0) + 1
    			end
    		end
    	end
    	return set
    end

    The first one I call on the item I am comparing, and the second one I call any time my equipped items change. This seems to work pretty well for me.

    I haven't tried it, but i don't see why it wouldn't.

    Also, I have added some set bonus detection (tier sets, wastewalker and primal strike) as well as some early support for on use and proc type trinkets.

    It is an estimation of approximate DPS against raid level bosses in an ideal situation. You can read more about it here: http://druid.wikispaces.com/ToskksDPSGearMethod

    In the simplest terms, 14 AP is equal to 1 dps for your auto attack. However, the actual value while attacking is somewhat different. If you have 30% crit for example, it is worth approximately 1.3 dps. If you have no +hit gear then it is about .91 dps. When you factor in your special attacks and talents and procs from gear then the situation becomes more complex.

    What this addon does is try to guide you in balancing all these stats depending on what you need most. Keep in mind that survivability is not considered at all, so you will have to make your own call on when the extra survivability is worth the loss in DPS.

    Also, while the calculation is attempting to be as accurate as possible, it is a model and there are some assumptions being made.
