OK, perhaps I didnt send you the file I thought I did; I backed up what I could but it is not the entire directory structure from prior to upgrade.
The cartographer.lua I'm looking at, however, DOES include specific items from my old map. I'll repost it, and hopefully it was just a mistake last time.
If it contains the same (wrong) data, then it's all i have and i guess i messed up. We'll see :)

Jun 26, 2007All righty then, so my reading wasn't for naught. :) Can anyone else help with the conversion of my manually-entered notes from the older version, using the four- to six-digit location codes, to something I can use/import within the current cartographer notes/POI system?Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
Jun 26, 2007Ah, perhaps this is the difficulty of my situation. I have seen those posts.Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
My older carto db (cartographer.lua) is merely a collection of icons and locations. Im not using mining, quests, or whatever from the older version - all of my information was entered manually throughout my travels.
This .lua file has a different location format - typically four to six digits - for each of its entries, while the new format is eight-digit.
I did see a function definition posted to convert from XY to carto and back, but I have not seen anything dealing with the older format. It is this older, manual file that I wish to convert.
I attempted to use the quest converter tool in your first post (sorry cant see the name while im replying here), but it was looking for something I dont have.

The new Carto looks great. Unfortunately, I'm using a (very, i guess) old one.
I used the Ace Updater to bring carto up to date, but now all my (six months worth of) collected icons are all in a row across the top of the new map.
I examined my saved variables cartographer.lua, and before <> after.
This is the stuff FAQs exist for - can someone fill that in? :D
Is there a conversion?
Finally, all these modules are neat, but I dont want to fill in everything from scratch - whats the straightforward way to get everything populated with live databases?
Consider this help for all noobs. If I could have found it without posting Id have been much happier.
