It'll play nice with Hunter Helper now. :) Nice mod that is.

    Indeed it does! Thanks!

Speaking of hunters and beast training, I just noticed today that Gazmik Fizzwidget's Hunter's Helper seems to have taken over the beast training window - and it can list the not-yet known skills either by ability or by zone. So it seems to pretty much make that part of arl redundant. Certainly there's no way that I can figure out to get the usual arl window next to the beast training window. No button on the latter, and "/arl scan" no longer seems to work - at least with this skill (I don't know if it did before, never tried it). I haven't yet tried disabling one or the other to see if anything looks different.

Not complaining, just reporting. Arl is too good for the other professions to give up. I do kind of like what HH seems to be doing, though.

posted a message on Question about AEmotes
For other people to hear the sounds you hear, either (a) they would have to have those sound files on their computer, and AEmotes would have to tell them which sound to play or (b) AEmotes would have to tell the WoW client to send the sound file to the server, so that the server could then send the file to everyone in earshot. I don't think (b) is possible (or advisable) with the current WoW client-server architecture. I do not know if AEmotes implements (a). I'm not even sure if it can or not.

It's a keybinding issue. By default, ctrl-1 is bound to your first pet button - usually petattack. Shift-1 also has a default binding but I forget to what.

heh. assumption 3 is incorrect. Instead the "onlne version is 1.6.520 warning remains, and I get an additional warning that the online beta version is 1.7.556, which is the one I'm using.

Changed the missing libs to "ignore". they still get marked as missing.

Got a couple of strange things in the event log:

    1. A warning that the online version of WUU is 1.6.520. This has been going on for a while now - and I've noticed that WUU no longer tries to update itself automatically. Not a big deal, really, just a curiousity.
    2. 4 libs (Debuglib, Configator, Babylonian, Slidebar) are consistently flagged as missing, even though they are in fact in the aucAdvanced:Libs folder. I suppose this may have something to do with having "Wowace- use noext addons" checked in the prefs, even though AucAdvanced isn't a wowace addon, and has not been disembedded. The libs are listed in the main addon list in wuu, which I suppose is why they get listed as missing. iirc, if I delete them from the listing, WUU just puts them back, though. I suppose I could mark them as ignore instead of related (their current status). <shrug>
    3. Hm. Just noticed the "Allow WUU beta version" checkbox in the prefs. I suppose if I check that the warning in 1. will go away. :-)

A quick forum search didn't turn up an answer to my question, so forgive me if it's been answered before. Is there a way to set up bar paging for a hunter such that the bar switches based on whether the character is doing ranged or melee damage? Thanks!

    Not automatically, no.

    From wowwiki:
The interface number is a way of telling WoW which version of the client it was made for. If there is a version mismatch, the AddOn is disabled by default. However, if the user explicitly turns off version checking the AddOn will continue to function regardless of what the interface version number in the .TOC file says.

Actually, wowwiki seems not to be right about that last part. It's more like the interface version number has not much at all to do with whether the addon works, only with whether the WoW client will by default allow it to try to work. :-)

Not sure about Outfitter since I use ItemRack instead. ItemRack is where the magic happenned in my case so I would imagine Outfitter in your case. I have no current plans to do auto equipping via AutoBar. Trinketmenu + ItemRack / Outfitter / ClosetGnome etc. is so much more appropriate for that.

Ah, I thought it was already in Autobar. My bad. You're right though, it would be redundant.

I'll take a look at outfitter. I dunno, maybe trinketmenu is redundant, too. But I kind of like having the two trinket slots right there. I suppose I could use outffiter's menu bar, but I'm not sure where I'd put it. It sure won't fit where trinketmenu is right now. :-)

<sigh> Here's another approach: the only reason that line is in the toc in the first place is that Blizzard requires it. Why not lobby them to remove the requirement?

I want to make a bar for just my soulbound weapons. Can I do that?

IMO, when an addon author updates the toc to indicate compatibility with a given version of WoW, he is certifying that he has tested his addon under that version, and that (absent minor, non-fatal errors, perhaps) it works. I haven't written any addons, but I have been a programmer, and I know that, for me at least, the only thing in programming that I like less than testing is documentation. After all, how to use the software I write should be intuitively obvious to anyone with a brain, should it not? And when writing software, there's no need to test it, because I don't make misteaks. :-)

Anyway, my point is that if the addon author isn't willing to make that certification (after all, all addons are "beta" software) then he is right not to update the toc.
