Hi. I'm looking for the API function to get an NPC's <title> (<class> trainer, etc) but I can't seem to find it. Would be great if anyone could help me out.
Thanks : )

Nov 3, 2009Hi.Posted in: Lua Code Discussion
I'm having some trouble using UnitAura checking for debuff types. Here's my code:
if event == "UNIT_AURA" then local type = UnitDebuff(unit, i) local str if type == "Magic" then str = "MAGIC" end self.name:SetText(str) endI'm at a loss here, does anyone see what's wrong?

I actually have that book, and I've followed the examples, including the one myrrodin is referring to. It didn't work though, so I figured Blizzard changed some things since the book's printing (May 2008 ). Thanks for the links, Orion, I'll check them out.
Oct 18, 2009Hello, good people.Posted in: Lua Code Discussion
I'm getting my feet wet writing addons and between the frustration and headbashing, it's been fun. I'm working on a simple unit frame addon, and so far I've done the player and target frames (missing right click dropdown menu). Anyway, what I primarily need help with is setting up the raid frames. I tried using SecureGroupHeaderTemplate, but tbh, I didn't really understand it. So, what's the best way to set up some really basic raid frames?
Any help is greatly appreciated : )

I'm pretty sure it's not a rounding error that's causing the problem. I've never used UI scale, but I played around with it after reading your replies. Some UI scale values does fix the problem! But I really don't want to use UI scale since it messes up my other UI elements.
Any other ideas? : <

So, I've got this problem I hope you guys can help me with. The bar spacing in both elkBuffBars and ClassTimers is inconsistent! Every few bars, the spacing is doubled.
On with the pictures ...
Any help is greatly appreciated.
