Not really. Just small tweaks to get it to look just right.
Trying Color(333333) instead of Gray atm.

No, the priest category didn't have a hostile spell check. It just made all hostile target evaluate to in range.

Once I added a check for hostile targets, it worked properly.

Incidentally, this was somewhat of a problem for paladins, as they don't seem to have any ranged hostile spells until level 20. Unless you want for count the ones that only reach 10 yards, but that's not that useful for a range check.

Range check is using Flash Heal to check.
Priests don't get Flash Heal until level 20
My priest is only level 19

I just changed the spell to Lesser Heal, and I am happy to report that this was indeed the problem.
    It works correctly now.

I also gave offensive spells to the other classes, and my druid now works correctly.

However, I must admit I'm a bit puzzled as to why offensive range checks were effectively disabled on priests, druids, paladins, and shaman.
    Can anyone enlighten me?

Configuring DOES take awhile, that's true.

I think half the reason configuring is a pain, is because everything has to be done via "infinitely nested menus"
This makes it hard for a new (and even seasoned) user to know where everything is, and what options there are without going through every nested menu.

When I used Grid, I fairly quickly "got" the implications of the options, and how I could use them. But I can easily understand how someone else might not get it right off the bat. And I would venture to say that most people don't see it quickly.

I think a few presets that showcase some of the options might be somewhat helpful here.

But I think the fundamental issue, comes down to the fact that most people don't have the time/ability to sit down and really analyze what they would like for a display, what info is important. This is necessary for Grid because it has a number of abstracted displays, and gives the user many many options to set them up. Without taking the time to think about what you want, it can be a bit overwhelming.

Maybe some brief introductory screens could give the user a few starter ideas of how things could get displayed, get the ol' thinking juices flowing. Maybe even a wizard? A tutorial perhaps?

Anyway, I still maintain that two squares per corner is inherently more orderly and useful, than corners and sides as is current.

Ok, some of this came up in another thread, but I figure it might be better to place in here.

    Range Check.
For Priests, the test spell is listed as "Flash Heal"
However, this spell is not available until level 20. Presumably, this is why Range check doesn't work on my level 19 priest. May I suggest "Lesser Heal" instead?

Can we get offensive spells for all classes, so range check works properly against hostile targets?

If you have mouse-over enabled, and your target is under where the mouse-over frame would appear, the frame blinks on and off in a loop until you move the mouse away. Can I suggest disabling the mouse-over calls on the mouse-over and mouse-over target frames?

Some frames (target for sure) don't update the [Creature] tag when a druid shape shifts. Focus frame does update.

    Nice mod.

Is there a way to change font and/or font size mid-stream in a single field?

I looked at the tags, but didn't see font options.
I imagine it would be something like:
    [Text(Hello):Size(10)] [Text(World):Size(30)]

    LOL!

I think I know why my priest is perpetually out of range.

Range check is using Flash Heal to check.
Priests don't get Flash Heal until level 20
My priest is only level 19

    Think that's it?
If so, may I suggest Lesser Heal be used in future updates?

As to the small hack I have mentioned before...
I moved the square indicators around to a more useful positions, again, imo.

Instead of: This made And I'd love to have done something like this,
more sense: but I had trouble trying to add squares:
    ----------- ----------- -----------
    |X X X| |XX XX| |XXX XXX|
    | | | | -|X X|
    |X    X|   |     |   ||     |
    |     |   |     |   ||X    X|
    |X  X  X|   |XX   XX|   ||XXX  XXX|
    ----------- ----------- ------------
                     With a mana bar -
being discussed in a different post.

I found this useful because I could group functions better, each corner fit into a different conceptual category of what they displayed.

    Upper left: Mana information
Upper right: Raid buffs, with mine prioritized on highest layer.
Lower left: Healing info, what HoTs are applied, my own prioritized.
Lower right: Bleed effects, and then debuff types, prioritized by what I can cure.

Ideally, I think it would make sense to give the user options to add additional custom squares, just as you can add custom auras, and place them anywhere they want.

Even better would be the ability to indicate multiple instances.
For instance, the lower right corner represented bleed/DoTs. But if there were multiple DoTs the display looked the same. Either a number, or brightness based on number of applications, would be helpful. Or even the ability to add squares and line them up to a certain maximum. The latter is probably asking a lot.

The brightness could be solved by allowing transparency on the indicators. As more are stacked, the square becomes less and less transparent, and therefore brighter.

    What do you think?

posted a message on Grid + Mana Bars
I'm joining this discussion late, but here's my 2?

I used to use grid in the past. But I had done some intensive customization, and a small hack.
Having mana bars is a nice addition, (as I had two squares dedicated to mana info) but I would suggest a slightly different implementation.
Instead of putting the bar inside the basic square where is can be covered by corner indicators, why not a 1 - 10 pixel line that appears outside of an user choosen edge? It should probably have it's own background too.
I found grid excellent at providing me with a snap situational awareness, even in pug bgs. Part of the reason is the prioritizing of the right info, and a very clean display. The bars in the original example seem a bit thick, they add clutter and grab too much attention, imo.

Being thiner and outside the square would also eliminate any confusion of being mistaken for health.
It should be and easy change to make the minimum thickness lower, but I think making the bars outside would solve a lot of design issues. That's probably a much harder change, though.

So if I edit the file to make the druid entry look more like the mage entry, but with a different hostile spell, it will work?

I wonder if PitBull checks to see if a spell can be cast on a particular target, and if it can it is considered in range. If that's the case it would explain why dueling characters become out of range, and certian npcs in shat always appear out of range. Now, does this mean that a cycloned target will become out of range as it's considered immune?

Anyway, why would my priest be considered out of range to herself?

posted a message on PitBull - Buff Questions, Feature Request?
Hmmm, at the time I posted this, I wasn't really aware that there was an optional buff handler.
    I'll give it a try.

I also found how to split the buffs/debuffs.
It's not that I didn't see the check box. It's just that clicking it seemed to reduce my options!
I click, and the "side" options disappeared! I figured it wasn't implemented fully yet.
Eventually I saw that it inserted a new config category on the side. Very screwy implementation.

For me, it doesn't matter whether it is target, party target, focus, etc. I get the same (incorrect) behavior.

For instance, on my druids, all hostile targets evaluate as in range. It doesn't matter if the hostile is in the target, target's target, party target, mouse-over, etc. It always appears as in range.

I tried disabling all other mods, to see if any were interfering, but it had no effect.

Ok, I worked with the most recent implementations a bit.
From a personal standpoint, I'm not sure if I truly like it, but I can see how others might.

Though, I have made some adjustments for the raid frames.
I prefer missing health to not appear until <90% health.
I'm also considering making the collapsed missing health in gray, to fade it a bit.
And I have found that on the status display (Dead, Ghost, etc.) that the time in parenthesis overfills the frame.
Does anyone know how to display status without the time?
In the meantime, I am using Trunc(5)

Anyway, with those changes, it would look like:
    [Status:Trunc(5):Gray:[Text([SureHP?PercentHP:IsGreater(89)?~MaxHP!PercentHP:IsLess(34)?CurHP:Red!SmartMissingHP!PercentHP:Percent]
     [white] [PercentHP:IsLess(34)?Text( -)][PercentHP:IsLess(34)?MissingHP:VeryShort:Gray])]]

Oh FFS, this is a joke right?

I just downloaded SharedMedia from the files section of the Ace wiki.

Now your telling me that's wrong, and I should get LibSharedMedia-2.0? (not to be confused with SharedMediaLib)

You all see the problems with these naming conventions, yes?
