    Does anyone have any ideas here? This can't be a new idea, using a macro to update itself.

    Ok, here's the code that I'm using for macro generation:

    function MountManager:GenerateMacro()
        if InCombatLockdown() then return end

        -- Create base macro for mount selection
        local index = GetMacroIndexByName("MountManager")
        if index == 0 then
        	index = CreateMacro("MountManager", 1, "", 1, nil)
        end

        state.mount = MountManager:GetRandomMount()
        name = GetSpellInfo(state.mount)

        EditMacro(index, "MountManager", 1, string.format(L["MacroFormat"], name, name))
    end

    And here is the format string for the macro itself

    L["MacroFormat"] = [[
    #showtooltip %s
    /cast [button:1] %s
    /click [button:2] MountManagerToggleButton]]

    The button simply calls the generate function for now.

    I'm really close to getting my addon finished, but I'm getting some really weird behavior. For my addon to function correctly, I create a macro that clicks a hidden button. That button then alters the macro that was just used.

    I did this so that the user can left click the macro to summon a mount, and right click on the same macro to load a different mount than what is currently being displayed.

    The problem is when I do this, for some reason my character says part of the updated macro text in chat. Do anyone know what could be causing this, and maybe have a possible solution?

    I'm trying to build an addon to use for random mount / companion selection, and I want to make a UI for picking them that makes use of the existing spell book page. I'm creating an overlay, like used with Clique's configuration, but I need to make sure that its only visible on the mount and companion pages of the spell book.

    My question is, does the spell book raise any events that I can use to show my interface for only the pages in question?

    I'm having a problem with Chinchilla. For some reason, when using the default Blizzard tracking dots, my pet doesn't show up. It shows perfectly fine with any other dots, just not the default blizzard ones.

    I'm trying to figure out a specific layout for my unit frames. I'm trying to place a blank bar above my other bars and portrait for a place for name / class / level texts, sort of like what you find in Xperl. I've gotten a bar placed, but it won't go into the position I want. I'm trying for the following:

    -------------------------------
    Name, Class, Level
    -------------------------------
    .............. Health
    . Portrait . ----------------
    .............. Mana
    .............. ----------------
    .............. Cast
    -------------------------------

    but the closest I can manage is this:

    -------------------------------
    .............. Name, Class, Level
    .............. ----------------
    .............. Health
    . Portrait . ----------------
    .............. Mana
    .............. ----------------
    .............. Cast
    -------------------------------
