posted a message on Whisper History Display
I've been using Whisp for awhile now for the simple function of having my whisper history with a person displayed above the chat window when I'm typing a whisper to them. It's been slowly dying with each patch and it's now come to the point where the addon doesn't function at all. Is there a similar addon that doesn't have a ton of other unecessary features? I don't want something like WIM that breaks it all out, as I have enough trouble monitoring one chat window and I don't often carry on more than one conversation at a time.

I've been using Prat for everything else chat related (although at the moment none of the modules I use work in that either :P), so compatability is a must. The only exception would be if it could completely replace Prat and equal it's performance and compatability with other chat addons. I'd need button removal, copy options, chat entry replacement, and hot key options minimally.

I tried an initial search but didn't find anything.

    Thanks!

As far as I can determine, VBM is a private addon available only to the author's guild, so "use something else" is probably not an option. :p
I would bring it up with whoever authored it then, it'd be in the guild's best interest to improve framerates for their members :P.

Scaling works well now :). I wiped my SV file one more time to clear out any potential conflicts.

Drop an item anywhere in a bag to put it in a free slot
    I like this one a lot :).

An option to enable "Lax section ordering", that would reduce wasted space by ignoring section ordering when need be
I think Baggins does this if I'm understanding it right. Sometimes it's nice, sometimes it's a nuisance.

I would like an option to disable the fading of junk items while leaving the rest of the item highlights intact. Maybe a threshold option? Fading an item has other meanings in WoW and I keep seeing them and thinking my inventory is bugged!

Using v1.0-beta-2-7-g0940d3e, enUS locale - scale settings were still not saving. So I did a little investigating.

Issue: Scale slider does nothing. It will remember it's value within a session, but does not actually affect the scale, and forgets it's value after a reload. No entry in the SV file. It will scale if I use the mousewheel on the anchor, but still forgets the setting after a reload.

On line 286 of Options.lua there was a typo (addon.acnhorScale = value I assume should be addon.anchorScale = value). I fixed that, but it didn't help the issue. So I put a scale value into the SV file manually. After doing that the addon loaded at the right scale. Changing the scale via slider doesn't take affect until a reload. Changing it via wheel still works as expected. Scale now saves between reloads.

I'm still missing something, but hopefully that helps somehow!

Very promising addon with a few minor issues :). It doesn't seem to be saving any settings except position. I keep changing the scale back to 100% and it keeps resetting to 80%. There's no settings in the SV file except position. Also, the scale won't even take affect until I unlock, move, and lock the anchor, then reset the scale.

Two requests too, I'd love collapsible sections if you do decide to put them in. Also, the ability to move the bag without having the anchor visible would be nice. I tried hiding it, but that seems to have the same affect as locking it.

    This is all with r20100514080343.

This looks exciting! Baggins has always been overkill for what I wanted out of it, but I've never been able to find something that fit the bill. Looking forward to trying this this evening.

It's often best practice to assemble a list of raid critical addons and only enable those when raiding.

Not when you use multiple browsers from multiple computers :P.

I usually abuse the forum PM feature - just PM yourself :P.

I use AddonSpamFu, which will also show for each user which addon caused the message, in case the addon is known.
I've been looking for a LDB equivalent but haven't found one. I used to use it but I went through great efforts to cut my addon collection down to a single framework.

Most of the noise I get is on the raid channel anyways, so filtering isn't critical. I'll know it's my cue to press my macro when I see 23 of these one word responses fly by anyways :). Thanks guys.

posted a message on Monitor Addon Channel
I used to have an addon that monitored the addon channels (specifically probably the raid channel) and fed them to a chat window. I can't seem to find it now. Does anyone know of a decent one?

I'm trying to get around installing an addon my guild is now requiring because of poor addon design on the part of another addon. Apparently someone can't be bothered to code a simple whisper control and requires an entire addon to communicate a single word to it. Absurd. I don't need a several thousand line addon with multiple embedded frameworks to do something I can do with a one line macro, especially while I'm already riding the razor thin line of raiding performance as it is. I just need to know when to hit the macro. I figure an addon to show data I'm already receiving would be much more lightweight.

    Thanks.
