    Cheers, I knew something felt a bit dirty about hooking ToggleDropDownMenu like that. As for the tables, thanks for the tip. I tend to forget little things like that, I guess I'll get over the little noob mistakes as time goes by.

    I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to LUA/the WoW API so feel free to laugh if you see some stupid mistakes in my code. I'm trying to find a way to modify the backdrop and border of UIDropDownMenu, and one way I'm trying is by hooking ToggleDropDownMenu, and through trial and error I've come up with the following:

    local Old_ToggleDropDownMenu = ToggleDropDownMenu
    ToggleDropDownMenu = function(level, ...)
    	Old_ToggleDropDownMenu(level, ...)
    	if not level then
    		level = 1
    	end
    	local menu1 = _G["DropDownList"..level.."Backdrop"]
    	local menu2 = _G["DropDownList"..level.."MenuBackdrop"]
    	if menu1 then
    		menu1:SetBackdrop({
    			edgeFile = "Interface\\AddOns\\gMedia\\media\\Border\\thinlight.tga", edgeSize = 24,
    			bgFile = "Interface\\Tooltips\\UI-Tooltip-Background",
    			insets = { left = 5, right = 5, top = 5, bottom = 5 },
    		})
    		menu1:SetBackdropBorderColor(0.3686274509803922, 0.3843137254901961, 0.4)
    		menu1:SetBackdropColor(0.1, 0.1, 0.2)
    	end
    	if menu2 then
    		menu2:SetBackdrop({
    			edgeFile = "Interface\\AddOns\\gMedia\\media\\Border\\thinlight.tga", edgeSize = 24,
    			bgFile = "Interface\\Tooltips\\UI-Tooltip-Background",
    			insets = { left = 5, right = 5, top = 5, bottom = 5 },
    		})
    		menu2:SetBackdropBorderColor(0.3686274509803922, 0.3843137254901961, 0.4)
    		menu2:SetBackdropColor(0.1, 0.1, 0.2)
    	end
    end

    It works and all, but it just feels wrong and that it's a stupid way of going about it. I've also noticed that when I try to use Metamorphosis, BugGrabber gets overrun with taint relating to my addon and MultiBarBottomRightButton3:Show(). There's absolutely nothing in my addon that relates to the default actionbars so my first impression was it's a Bartender4 issue but then I realized I'd only seen it happen since I started playing around with the above hook. I'm gonna try and see if I can reproduce the error again when I have the chance.

    Anyway, back to my original question, is there another way to do this, perhaps a cleaner way (excluding modifying the textures themselves, which I'm sure someone will mention, but that's not what I'm trying to do)? If this is the cause of the taint, should I try doing it with hooksecurefunc, or is there an entirely different and better way of doing it?

    Here's what I'm using at the moment.

    Some demonic empowerment supervoidwalkerthreatomg 2-man onyxia happyfun abuse.

    Random raid screenshot showing focus frame + all casting bars.

    Addons:

    Fonts: PF Tempsta Five Bold on unitframes, PF Tempsta Five regular on castbars and Omen, Swiss 721 on MSBT and Newcastle on everything else.

    Textures: HalK on everything.

    I've got a couple of broker plugins at the top bar in StatBlockCore and I've made a little onenter/onleave script to autohide/show ALL of the plugins parented to it when I mouseover/unmouseover it. It feels a little bit like a dirty hack but it works fine.

    The usual influences - Lyn, Eph, Led and others. No I won't upload my whole UI. I might get around to uploading my oUF layout when I'm happy with it and I've eliminated all of the little bugs but until then, don't even ask. I've written a few little mods for this UI that I might upload in the future too, but seeing as there's several other mods out there that probably do the same job but do it better I don't see *much* point in doing so.

    Could swear I said it oO My bad, ATi X1950XTX. Either way, I doubt it's a hardware problem seeing as my friend had the same problem using my UI with completely different hardware as I've mentioned (which would probably also rule out a driver issue, as he's an nVidia user).

    posted a message on Bizarre freeze lag
    I was thinking it might be related to my graphics card, but the fact that I couldn't cast or do anything in-game while the lag was happening, and the fact I got disconnected after makes me think otherwise. For the record, here's my ageing hardware:

    AMD Opteron 165 @ 2.8GHz
    1GB Kingston HyperX
    DFI LanParty NF4 Ultra-D
    2x Seagate 7200.10 320GB (NOT in any kind of RAID setup, both independant)
    2x WD Raptor 74GB (again, not in any kind of RAID setup)
    Silverstone ST56ZF 560w
    Creative SB Live 5.1
    WinXP SP3

    Before anyone says it, yes I'm overclocked a little, but I'm not unstable and the issue is totally unrelated, I can run 2 threads of Prime95 all day no problem.

    posted a message on Bizarre freeze lag
    Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

    WoW's graphics will freeze up for roughly 20 seconds, when it updates it'll show a frame that's only a few seconds ahead of the freeze. This will repeat itself maybe 5 times then I'll get disconnected. What's really wierd is the fact that while the frame is stuck, the sound is still playing with no interruptions.

    This happens very rarely (I've counted 4 occurences in 2-3 months), and only seems to happen in Sunwell. It seems to happen either at very intense moments (shadow nova on twins), or when entering combat (it's happened twice when pulling a trash pack). When it happened on twins I remember seeing some bizarre debug messages in my chat frame mentioning SPELLCAST_DELAYED, whether those were directly related to the lag or just a side effect of some sort I don't know, but that made me think it might've been AzCastBar, but then I remembered a friend who was using my UI had similar freezes, yet he'd replaced AzCastBar with Quartz. I also thought it might've been Recount, but then I remembered the first few times it happened, I was using Violation.

    I'm really at a loss here to what could be causing it. It's not your usual 1-2 second lag that most people get on twins, I get that all the time, but this is something entirely different. I've done some reading around and haven't found anything remotely like this happening to anyone else. Once again, while the graphics are frozen, the sound is still playing in the background, I could hear the twins yelling, people casting, etcetera, but the rest of the client was unresponsive. I couldn't hear myself casting (and nobody else could see me casting) when I was trying to while this was happening, so it's clearly something more than just a graphical problem.

    I'm sure someone is gonna say "try disabling all your addons" but considering how hard this problem is to reproduce, that wouldn't really help. Enabling them all again one by one to see which one is the culprit would take months based on the frequency of the problem occuring and how many addons I'm using. I've figured out that it only happens when entering combat or during intense moments, though considering the low number of times it's happened, that may just be coincidence.

    For reference, here is my current list of addons. I can safely rule out AzCastBar, Recount and Parrot based on my friend's experience, so don't take those into consideration.

    Sorry for the wall of text-tastic post :(

    EDIT: Forgot to mention, I play windowed and I could still do other things while this was going on with no speed hit.

    LibSharedMedia3 is optionaly supported, so your saying you got the list of art in the dropdown but they all refused to load then?

    Pretty much. It would refuse to load any of the backgrounds on the list (all of which loaded fine in Omen and CowTip), however borders would load just fine.

    If I try to select any background besides "None", kgPanels spams my chat frame with "Cannot find artwork *blah*", despite the fact all of the backgrounds it's failing to load work fine in the other mods I'm using that use SharedMedia. It's also failing to load Blizzard's backgrounds (e.g. Blizzard Tooltip, Blizzard Tabard Background and Blizzard Low on Health or whatever they're called).

    Changing this line..
    "local LSM = LibStub:GetLibrary("LibSharedMedia-3.0",true)"

    ..to..
    "local LSM = LibStub:GetLibrary("LibSharedMedia-2.0",true)"

    seems to fix the problem, but it feels like a bit of a cheap workaround seeing as kgPanels is obviously intended to use SM3. I believe Omen uses LibSharedMedia-3.0 as well, yet it can load all of the backgrounds kgPanels couldn't just fine as well. I'm not getting any LUA errors for the record, just kgPanels spamming my chatframe with the aforementioned. Anyone else had this problem?

    Fake edit: Oh, I failed to mention that borders are loading fine, whilst backgrounds are not.
    Fake edit 2: Tracked it down to SM3 not being embedded, copying the version from Omen and adding it to embeds.xml did the trick. Leaving this post here for people with the same issue to read.

    Here's what I'm currently using. Some of the screenshots are older, some are newer, so you may notice a couple of things have been slightly moved in each screenshot as a result.

    25-man raid - out of combat:

    Screenshot of my addons directory (selected/highlighted addons are disabled but I can't be bothered to remove them):
    http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/1221/addonsfolderko2.jpg

    In addition to the addons visible in the directory, I've also added a bunch of fonts from Caith's UI and Halkyon's statusbar textures to SharedMedia as well as added some custom tooltip borders (which I believe are Zork's, however I didn't get them directly from his UI as Rapidshare wasn't working, and instead grabbed them from Xenn's UI).

    r54838 I believe, but I can't really remember. I didn't think much of it at the time cause we usually kill him (or her, haven't decided what Al'ar actually is yet) well within the enrage timer. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but next time we kill him/her I'll get BigWigs_Debugger and try to reproduce it.

    I, like many others, am having issues with Al'ar timers. Last night the enrage timer appeared on our first attempt, however it didn't show up for any subsequent attempt nor the kill despite the Melt Armor timer showing up every time. I tried rebooting the module, /rl'ing and such to no avail, the enrage timer just wouldn't appear. I'll try and reproduce this again next week and provide more useful information on the matter.

    I've updated to the most recent version and it is working, but only on left clicks. I've tried unchecking the right click self cast option and it still doesn't work. I know you're probably working vigilantly on it and its definitely appreciated!

    Read the last post on page 41 :)

    So only left click works.

    The version in SVN now will work(for left clicks).

    Hmm just a suggestion, could you add plain spell damage to individual schools of spell damage, maybe in brackets so we can see how much damage is specific to that school, but so we don't have to add it up manually. Very very nice mod, it's made all of my notepad-written gear plans redundant :)
