to a guild like that wow is life and nothing more matters

When we do progression, yeah, we are absolutely hardcore about it, seven days a week until everything's done. When we're not doing progression, though, we only raid two nights a week. Incidentally, we also happen to have several people who can code in the guild already (myself included) . . . but no one has the time to learn lua. Just about everyone has work or school to attend to. Yeah, there aren't many people out there who are expert raiders and serious mod developers as well - but I am sure there are some. This post is directed towards those few.

First of all, my apologies if this is inappropriate, but there seemed no better place on these forums to post this.

My guild is <vodka> of Mannoroth (Alliance/PvP). Almost since the game's release, we have been one of the most consistently successful guilds in existence. Our accomplishments include a world-first Twin Emperors kill, a Top 10 Kel'Thuzad kill, and, most recently, a Top 5-US Illidan kill. When Sunwell comes out, we want to be fighting for world firsts. We have the resources to make it happen, but we'd like to do everything possible to prepare. To that end, we are recruiting one mod writer.

The successful applicant should, above all, be a competent, dedicated, consistent raider, hell-bent on progression. We're not looking for a non-participant or a second-string player. Rather, we're in search for a solid addition to our raiding force who just happens to know lua and the WoW API like the back of his hand. To meet our requirements, you'll need to immediately (upon release to the PTR) familiarize yourself with the new 2.4 combat log. You'll need the capability to quickly run combat log parses to answer very specific questions about something that has just happened. You'll need the ability to set up timers, listeners, triggers, and test-cases to be able to quickly provide hard numbers about different aspects of an encounter - the very first time you experience it. You'll need to be able to use this information to construct boss mods on the fly, while at the same time performing as well as any other member of our raid.

You'll probably only need to do these things three or four times a year, but when you do them, you need to do them well. At all other times, you will be a regular member of the guild's raiding force, so, like I said, you also need to be good. Your class isn't much of an issue - we can fit in one more of most classes. Attunement and gear are minor concerns. The important factors are raw skill, understanding of your class, and raid dedication and experience. If you think you have what it takes, please whisper me ingame on Mannoroth or submit an application on our forums (www.vodka-guild.com/forums) with " -mod writer" in the subject. If you have any questions, please feel free to reply here.
