Feature request (or possibly I'm missing it in the config if it's already in):
I'd like to move my spell DOTs to a separate scroll area. I've created the new scroll area, but I don't see spell DOTs in the outgoing damage types list. There are healing and skill DOT sections, but not spell (that I can see).
Beautiful work on this addon. Pre-release and it's already sweet. Thank you!

Jun 16, 2007I cannot get the addon to show up for me.Posted in: General AddOns
I use WAU and know that yes, I need to make sure that the addon appears on my addon screen and is checked and yes, all modules are.
I tried deleting the version I DL'ed off of WAU and DL'ing the release version from wowinterface.com. Same issue.
Typing /quartz does not bring up an interface. Quartz is not listed under combat through DeuceCommander or Niagara. My wife DL'ed it at the same time as I did and hers is working fine.
Edit: Oh, and I tried disabling all mods other than Quartz. It would still not appear.
Edit2: Hunted around and found another thread describing the problem as being with S&D (essentially). Disabled that and it loads fine now.
LOVE the addon, btw!

Any possibility to have the casting bar shows only when casting? Or it's a problem with the Blizzard disabling addon movable addon in combat?
1. Global Settings/castbar/background
2. Set alpha to 0

Windows' built in text searching is pretty grim stuff. For instance, I booted up windows and did a search for "wowace" on my AddOns folder using Windows text search, making no specification for file type. 9 Files found, 8 .txt files and 1 .xml file. Specifying *.lua for files returned 0 files.
Succinctly, Windows only searches a few file types for text content. I apologize for not being clear about this earlier Irongrim, but I was on my Mac and couldn't remember just how robust or pale text searches are on Windows. And so today, I booted up ol' Betsy to take a look and tried the little experiment above.
Then, I fired up my old file utility of choice, which includes a fairly powerful text search engine that will search all sorts of files, and found 855 files - lua files, toc files, and the same txt and xml files Windows found. The search took 3.13 seconds. I found 44 lua, xml, and txt files containing "foo". I use(d) XYplorer, and there are many others as good I'm sure. XYplorer is now a shareware application, but a previous incarnation (which is the one I have) is still available as freeware: http://www.xyplorer.com/download/xyplorer_full_lfv.zip.
XY returns the following results for foo:
Food C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\Mendeleev\libs\PT\Elements\ File Folder 2/10/2007 22:06:26 2/10/2007 22:06:26 2/13/2007 ---D---- PTElFood C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\MrPlow\ File Folder 11/25/2006 19:16:00 11/25/2006 19:16:00 2/13/2007 ---D---- PTElFood C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\MrPlow\Libs\ File Folder 11/25/2006 19:16:00 11/25/2006 19:16:00 2/13/2007 ---D---- FeedOMatic_Foods.lua lua C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\GFW_FeedOMatic\ 8 KB LUA File 12/9/2006 21:23:39 1/11/2007 16:54:42 2/12/2007 -----N-- footCorner.tga tga C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\Clique\images\ 18 KB IrfanView TGA File 12/8/2006 01:21:49 11/30/2006 18:37:38 2/12/2007 -----N-- footer.tga tga C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\Clique\images\ 18 KB IrfanView TGA File 12/8/2006 01:21:49 11/30/2006 18:37:38 2/12/2007 -----N-- Footlocker.tga tga C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\Cartographer_Treasure\Artwork\ 3 KB IrfanView TGA File 2/6/2007 10:18:07 2/6/2007 10:18:07 2/13/2007 ----A--- PTEmbedElemFood.lua lua C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\Mendeleev\libs\PT\Elements\Food\ 8 KB LUA File 2/10/2007 22:06:26 2/10/2007 22:06:26 2/13/2007 ----A--- PTEmbedElemFood.lua lua C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\MrPlow\Libs\PTElFood\ 8 KB LUA File 11/25/2006 19:16:00 12/19/2006 02:05:14 2/13/2007 ----A--- PTEmbedElemFood.lua lua C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\MrPlow\PTElFood\ 7 KB LUA File 11/25/2006 19:16:00 4/29/2006 02:03:24 2/13/2007 ----A---
I did use the "contains text" tab with XY as well.
A search for "foo" returned no results.
Even though this is a minor annoyance in game - it's beginning to get personal between me and this friggin' frame. How could it be there - with both DFM and the in game script listed above identifying it as being there under the mouse pointer - yet have no reference in the WoW folder??

Good suggestion. I gave it a whirl searching my C: drive for both "All or part of a filename" and "A word of phrase within a file" using *foo* then again with "foo".
*foo* returned 144 files none of which were just "foo" they were all food or foot etc.
"foo" found nothing on my computer.
Thanks for the idea though.

/run ChatFrame1:AddMessage(GetMouseFocus():GetName())will output the name of the frame your current mouse is over. No need to run DFM :P
That's good to know! I still needed DFM though to move it or make it click through.

One way you could try and find out is just to search for files and folders under your AddOns directory containing the text "foo".
Also, MoveIt will let you move that frame:
Searched for *foo* in both file names and the entire addon folder... no dice.
I did DL MoveIt though. I entered the command line you posted above and it could not find the frame. I'm keeping it though as a replacement for DFM. It's more simple to use than the Discord mod.
Thanks very much for your suggestions, guys. I really appreciate you taking the time. Unfortunately, none of them worked.
Guess I'll have to either scrub it all and start from scratch (not really willing to do that) or live with it.
Feb 9, 2007I have an irritating problem.Posted in: General Chat
I have a "dead spot" on my screen in WoW - naturally it is right about where I usually have my mouse pointer hovering to right click and turn my character. When I click this spot and move the mouse the pointer moves but the character does not turn.
On the screen it is roughly a 1/2" square.
My solution was to install Discord Frame Modifier. Using its frame finder feature I've discovered that the frame is named "foo". DFM does not recognize it as being a child frame of any particular frame.
I used DFM to modify the frame to allow click-through. I've tried moving the frame off to a point on the screen that I don't click on and disabling DFM, but the frame comes back to the original spot.
As far as what addons I'm using - I'm the usual Ace junkie you find lurking here. 90% of my mods are ones I've found here and I update with WAU daily... Fubar (foo?), Bartender, AgUF, you know the drill.
Any help with this would be much appreciated. I hate having to run a mod like DFM for such a simple annoyance.
