Hey all. Love the addon. Ran into a couple little things on my shammie tonight. I don't know when they crept in, haven't played her in a while.
The first one is regarding my crit chance. Dr. Damage seems to be double counting my Thundering Strikes talent (+5% to crit chance). That is, I have a 17.3% chance on the paper doll, but Dr. Damage decides I have a 22.3% chance. Testing with recount shows the value much closer to 17% then 22%.
The other thing is my base 'attack' button tooltip used to include a windfury line, with avg WF hit and crits. Is there anyway to bring that back? It was very helpful.
Thanks for the fun addon!

If Blizzard didn't approve of automatic looting, they wouldn't have provided an option to automatically loot corpses in their own interface options.
Well. I know there is the option for default auto loot. I don't think I made myself very clear.
My thought was that they might object to the ability to run filters at the loot step, in regards to farming.
As it is now, I pick up everything and use garbagefu to drop the least valued items, or else i'm picking items out of the loot window manually.
If I could choose to only pick up items of a certain quality, I wondered if it might cross the 'too automated' line that blizz has sometimes. Think of bottomfeeder vs bottomscanner from the auctioneer people, if you know of those addons.
May 18, 2008I would too love to see an option for a quality threshold. When taking my 70 though SM or ZF for cloth, it gets tedious having to drop every last bit of food or junk (mostly food) that isn't needed.Posted in: General AddOns
A example stack might look like "if loot is 'Silk Cloth' OR ">=Green" then pickup else ignore". That would be fantastic.
I do worry though, could this run afoul of blizzard? It might be seen as being too easy to farm.

yeah, okay. maybe i didn't test enough before i gave the okay. if reloading the ui works, then it's probably an issue of one of the internal skillet caches not being cleared on a rescan. that would probably explain the difficulty color funkiness, too.
out of curiousity, does it behave the same in "flat" grouping?
While I'm not right in front of it now to look, I want to say that 'Flat" worked as expected, IE, the new items were added as expected. I don't know about the difficulty color funkiness in flat though, didn't try that one.
When the list got offset (for lack of a better term), it would get down to a spot where something had to give, because of having too many items in not enough list. It would either double up something, say, have two 'bolt of linen', or give a blank 'unknown' listing.
Thanks for the programming!

hmm... so this is still happening? grr... can you verify that you're using the latest version (i uploaded it maybe 2 days ago). i kinda tought i had fixed it, but maybe not.
I think I did, I downloaded just this afternoon. I'm still testing it out, and will probably have a more complete report to give later on :)
May 15, 2008Hey all. Love Skillet, and love your update, lilsparky.Posted in: General AddOns
I've been trying out the latest version, and came across an issue with learning recipes.
For tailoring, at least.. Any new recipe learned will get the list in skillet mixed up. It seems to offset the list. So say I just learned Spidersilk Boots (which I did). It will show up in the list on the left in the right spot, but on the right side, the recipe that is brought up is the one that previously lived in that spot, IE, the previous highest craftable for that category. A reloadui fixes it up, but its really not very practical to do when leveling skills :D
I looked though the previous pages, hope I didn't re-report a known issue.
Thanks for the great work!
EDIT: Another one I forgot to report, but I think saw it mentioned.. skillet-lilsparky isn't catching skill changes. Ex., making bolts of silk, skillet reports the recipe as still orange, when it has gone to gray at 145.

The wrapping isue is something that seems to be directly related to Blizzard code I think.
Anyways, I added an option to disable the icons.
Thank you, thank you :)
I'm still on the hunt for the wrapping bug. It seems to only exhibit in combination with certain other addons (naturally), but I haven't nailed down an exact method to reproduce. If I can, i'll report back in.

A bit unrelated to the wrapping issue but I do believe icons are redundant in that tooltip, they just clutter it up.
Would be nice if it was reverted to the previous flat list or at least made an option.
Options are good, but it really didn't seem to be that much of an issue when the spacing was correct. But in any case, the section to draw the icon looked simple enough to add an option to turn on/off.
Of course that is me not knowing very much about coding :P
May 6, 2008EDIT: Upon further testing, I got honorfuplus and Mendeleev working together. I am at a loss to explain why it works fine on one computer, and not on another. :( *makes note to test further*Posted in: FuBar AddOns
Sorry to bother you with spurious bug reports ><
*peeks his head in*
Hey all... I hate popping in with such a bizzare issue. But I hope someone in here can offer some insight. I use both honorfuplus and an addon called Mendeleev. After an evening of turning each of my addons on and off in turn, I finally nailed down a bug I am having, in Mendeleev. Disabling Honorfuplus returns everything to perfect working order.
http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=13270.0 That's the thread in which I outline the Mendeleev issue. In short, the problem is that Mendeleev hooks a tooltip with extra info about materials. When Honorfu is disabled, everything works perfectly. When enabled, Mendeleev starts adding a linebreak where it shouldn't. I have no idea why that happens... I've stared at the code, but i'm not a good coder at all... Totally lost as to where this bug crawls in.
The steps to reproduce were simple, run HonorFu + Mendeleev. Happened every time, as in the attached screenshot.
Hope someone can give an idea, I would hate doing without either of these wonderful addons :)
May 5, 2008Upon further testing... I have no idea what to think.Posted in: AddOn HELP!
The other, previously working, installation now exhibits the exact same behavior. The only thing that changed that might affect Mendeleev is that it updated LibPeriodicTable-3.1.
I looked at the changelog and didn't see anything obvious, but I have overlooked things like this before.
Any help/ideas/abuse would be greatly appreciated... Even to suggest a similar mod that fills the same function. (I'm mostly looking for the 'what recipes use X material' function)
EDIT: Well, after the exhaustive check of enabling each addon in sets of three until the culprit was found, I localized it to a fubar plugin of all things. I'm going to PM the author of the plugin and see if they have any ideas as to why/how this happens.
May 4, 2008Hey all. Having some trouble with Mendeleev. The 'used in' tree is .. well, having trouble. See the screenshot attached to see what I mean.Posted in: AddOn HELP!
I've gone and disabled about everything else I could and nothing helped.
I didn't even know it wasn't supposed to look like that until I saw another copy of wow with it working correctly ><
Hope someone has an idea,
EDIT: After further poking around, it has to be a conflict between addons... Disabling all but a freshly downloaded copy of medeleev works as expected, the mendeleev addon works perfectly fine. When I start enabling other addons though, it goes right back to the bugged state.
What i'm going to do next is get a hold of a list of installed addons on that other, working computer, and figure out what the differences are. One of the mods I have installed has to be interfering.

Short answer: not possible.
Long answer: actually making the button part of an existing bar from another addon (or the default UI) is not possible, but you could make it look that way by splitting up the existing bar and moving each part slightly to the side to make room for your Poppins button, or deleting a button out of the middle of the existing bar. This would require a huge amount of code to support every possible actionbar addon. If you wanted your Poppins button to use the actionbar addon's settings (scale, skin, etc) it would require an even more huge amount of code. As it would be an enormous undertaking to try to support all actionbars, or even a few popular actionbars, it is extremely unlikely that anyone will ever write the code to do this. With a small effort on your part and some clever thinking you should be able to integrate Poppins with your existing actionbars.
I was afraid it was something like that. Thanks for the very complete explanation :)
May 1, 2008Hey, fun addon. Hope to use it more in the future :)Posted in: General AddOns
I had a feature request; What I would love to see is the ability to dock the button to an existing bar, as if it were a spell or macro itself.
What i'm trying to do is add some extra buttons to a slim interface without making it, well, not-slim. If the ability existed to move the lessor used abilities to a secondary location (without hunting through the spellbook), I would do it in a heartbeat.
On my shaman and mage in particular, I have a glut of spells... And they are all used, but situationally. It's obviously awkward to juggle a lot of similar spells around, when the goal is a slim interface. An example would be armors or fire/frost shields on a mage. All useful, but lots of spells to manage.
If this is out of the realm of this type of addon, I totally understand. I just haven't seen anything that does this before, and the option would be nice. (If the option is even feasible. I haven't looked at any of the details of actionbar code)

Hey Spy, should be working correctly again. If not, delete it locally and reinstall from the updater.
Will give it a go, thanks for looking into it.
What tripped it up, might I ask? I couldn't see anything the matter in the structure of it. I just spent an evening at work beating my head on a desk trying to trouble shoot a drive that ate a bunch of files. It would put my mind at ease to know the answer to at least one of the technology mysteries in my life ;)
EDIT: so I stopped being lazy and pulled the svn log. Comments are evil, I agree :P
Apr 30, 2008Hey all. Love the addon. I didn't know the game exposed the number of tokens I had until I used it ^_^Posted in: FuBar AddOns
I have a weird issue. This plugin seems to have fallen off the face of the earth as far as the ace updaters know. Neither jwowupdater or wowaceupdater seem to think it exists anymore. IE, not available to install or delete, while I can plainly see it sitting in my addons folder looking perfectly content. I checked my manual downloads directory to make sure that I hadn't installed it by hand for some reason, but no such luck.
Any idea why this might be occurring?
