I cannot seem to keybind the key:
to anything. Any other key I've tried to keybind has taken, but that one just refuses to bind to anything but a key in bar 1.

Oct 25, 2008I can't seem to edit my password for these forums.Posted in: General Chat
I couldn't remember it so I had it reset, and got one of those random strings emailed to me. I go in to edit it to something, and I click the button to "Edit Email & Password" and nothing happens.
I've tried in Safari, Firefox on Mac and PC, and IE on a PC. All do nothing...
Aug 16, 2008How do you configure this addon to work?Posted in: FuBar AddOns
I've had it for about a week now, done several PUGs where I've moused over the addon, clicked it, right clicked it, and so on, and I never see any record or anything else.
EDIT: Looking at the conversation above, looks like everyone is having this same discussion. None of the mentioned other addons are in the lists of what I use. I'll see what I can come up with.

Apr 3, 2008I've not had a lock up from Omen at all that I can trace - unless Omen is triggered when you click on the portal to Silvermoon that is there in the central room of Shatt. And I doubt that generates threat. :) But since 2.4 I have only made it through that portal twice without crashing my PC.Posted in: Raid AddOns
... And, how did I get through twice? I used Jwowupdater's "reinstall all addons" feature to delete every addon I had and redownload them all (without having to write out a long list) and then deleted my WTF folder (and spent hours redoing all my settings and lamenting the loss of some 4000+ hits on gatherer)...
I suggest people who are getting these lockups move their Addons and WTF folders to backups elsewhere, and go in fresh for a little bit, see if you lock up, and then put Addons back using newly downloaded copies. If like me you have a large database of something like gatherer you can always get together with a buddy and use the ingame share feature to send them your entire database, delete your WTF, and have them send it back where it will now be 'freshly recorded' (and hopefully lacking whatever variable 2.4 dislikes).
And it may just be that Blizzard introduced some bugs into the game's code that are causing lockups in certain places and some stealth hot-fix is the real reason I'm now getting through that portal (but then again, no one in my guild but me was crashing there).
I am glad the author(s) are here talking with us, but also very frustrated that something isn't working. In fact the newest copies seem to work even less than the older copies from a few days ago. My guildies have taken up some very anti-Omen attitudes and I'm now facing a push to switch us to KTM. But on going to curse and looking at what KTM does... it's a poor sister at best, I'm not even sure it has anything to do with actual threat, but is just pretty auto-sliding bars to distract people.
So please... get us a minimal something that works soon. :)
Apr 3, 2008Healers generate an amazing amount of threat. Every point of effective healing I put out is threat, and as a resto druid, I put out enough of it to match the DPS numbers of half or more of the rest of the raid combined. I need it to avoid pulling off the tanks's mobs. I also need it so others know when I'm pulling up there on the threat.Posted in: Raid AddOns
Frankly, healers need a threat meter more than a tank does... We're top candidates for aggro theft and need to watch what we're doing. In addition, we need it so we can contribute to the data others get, so that they see themselves relative to us.
Under 2.3, a fight would start, I cast a heal - Omen puts me smack at the top of the threat meter and everyone in my raid sees it, and then the mob one-shots me and we wipe.
Or... a fight starts, I wait for the threat numbers on the tank to be high enough / hope the tank's health is not too low, then cast my heal, and suddenly I'm at 90% of the tanks threat and my screen flashes red, so I back off... use a smaller heal next time... Spam out some rejuvs around the group after an AoE, and I hit 90% again when those ticks start coming in, and even while not casting the ticks drive up my threat, and I have to play a careful game between watching three things: the battle positions, health bars, and the threat meter. I get any one of them wrong for even a second and I take aggro and the group wipes.
Without a working threat meter, I'm guessing for one of them. I'm good enough now that I can generally do that, and a long time of using Omen has sort of taught me what my meter should be showing but isn't, but it's just a whole lot easier on my raid group when I don't have to drive down the road with my eyes closed.
Check wowwiki if you want to learn how threat works and why healers need a meter. I get massive threat, even with threat reducing talents. Unfortunately because I'm good at it, I also have very low overhealing - so of my raid member's healers, the bulk of it all comes down on me, as I'm using doing 1.25 to 2x the effective healing of the next highest healer on our 'healing meters' despite having lesser gear. Put another way, more of my healing actually heals my targets than anyone else - and for healers, its damaged healed (aka effective healing) that generates threat, not healing cast.
Apr 3, 2008Single target mode is not at all like the old omen. It gives no data if you don't target anything. As a resto druid, I can run through an entire raid without ever targeting anything - hostile or ally. I have keyclicks and macros that let me heal up people without targeting - so the only times I ever end up thinking to do so is when I want to do something like inspect or an emote.Posted in: Raid AddOns
2.3 - Omen gave me everyone's threat, and put me somewhere on that list.
2.4 - Single target, AoE, and Healer mode are all blank. Healer / tank mode cannot be activated as there blizzard config it says to use no longer exists in 2.4... Overview mode does something, but that something is just to put my name alongside a stack of 'unknowns'.

Jun 20, 2007Its not part of Ace, but I am rather fond of Healbot.Posted in: Addon Ideas
Healbot puts a few horizontal bars with names on your screen - for yourself, party members, pets, and targets. As health goes down they go down and they change color when they hit percentages you set. Different clicks on them will cast different spells, buffs, debuffs, etc.
No need to change targeting, and no need to be in a raid to get it to work.

Jun 8, 2007_ForgeUser1195338 posted a message on Getting Zone level info back? - disable 'Look n Feel'I've found the only way I can get the zone level to show on the world map for zones when I mouse over is to turn off the Cartographer Look 'n' Feel and Hotspot addons.Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
More specifically - disabling Look n Feel does it, but then I get errors with Hotspot not being able to find Look n Feel so I have to disable that as well.
Is there any other solution? Look 'n' Feel was handy to have...
