posted a message on WoW UI Updater (Windows/Linux/Mac) - supports multiple sites
If you're on a PC just use the official WAU version 1.8 (1.8.23 I think).

If you're on linux or a mac talk to me (PM or AIM Karl13Pagan) about alpha testing "WAU 2" which runs on a Java 6 platform.

Authors can get some help regarding the server-side features in #wau on irc.freenode.net

Also I blame the server surviving on this change. ;) From what I'm hearing it's really close to blowing up right now and I have no doubt this was the right thing to do since 2.1 hit when it did.

Just wanted to warn you - due to extreme load on the servers Kaelten wanted to disable outdated updaters.

The new version check uses http://files.wowace.com/latest.xml and http://files.wowace.com/latest-noext.xml

Details & discussion of the format here:

Perhaps it would be useful to show the closest available waypoint? Or I suppose libraries can re-sort the waypoints based on which one is closer.

This would be awesome for QuestFu which now tracks the quest givers and has better management of their waypoints - they could add all completed quest turnin spots to the waypoint table and then you can show the pathing to return to them.

I'm also not opposed to a radical change in how arrival options are handled. Perhaps a map or table of flag objects would work better than re-parsing a string on each arrival.

I actually failed to account for it and my error conditions catch it and don't find a note...

Cartographer:GetDistanceToPoint and Tourist:TransposeZoneCoordinate both return nil for non-contiguous areas ;)

unfortunately I need to exclude instances from the search, for now it MAY be possible to specify a hard coordinate waypoint inside an instance ("/way 50,50 z-a" matches Dire Maul - it should exclude the instance from the acceptible locations and it should warn you that "z-a" is too ambiguous)

    BIG FEATURE!

enabled cross-zone waypoints! /cheer ckknight for the Tourist functions!

/way z-all will search all zones (currently can't search between azeroth and outland, but you can manually set waypoints in those zones)

waypoints should also hide themselves (and cancel the update events) when you go into an non-contiguous space (instance/outland) and return when you zone back

z- also does pattern searching now... it might yell at you if your search is too vague (i.e. "z-a")

Really the advanced options such as z- i- etc should just live on the wiki and a readme IMO. Keep the in-game docs simple.

Upon arrival (<5 yd) to a waypoint the Ace event "CartographerWaypoints_WaypointHit" is fired - this leads the way for complex waypointing mods using the waypoint API.

I haven't got to /note yet, but the rest of the commands I've implemented options "who-style"

    key-["']?value["']?

    d-30 or d-"35" or d-'120'
minimum distance (search only, not applicable to coordinates)

    a-hide
    hide on arrival

    a-delete
delete on arrival (not recommended for search!)

    z-zone
    set waypoint/note zone

    i-icon
    set waypoint/note icon

oh I see now - you want a preference that hides any waypoint that you arrive to?

I don't see how repeat/next/delete would make good options for every waypoint.

Thanks. I'm actually taking one shot at on-arrival hiding, deletion, search repeat (for farming), and alternate search (deliver and retrieve missions) I have a method in mind and it seems to be working out.

the syntax for these will be

    delete on arrival:
    /way (waypoint terms) a-"delete"
(/tloc and /tway will also delete on arrival)

    hide on arrival:
    /way (waypoint terms) a-"hide"

    repeat terms on arrival
    /way (waypoint terms) a-"repeat[:waypoint terms]"
(will repeat original or new terms until hidden)

    new waypoint on arrival
    /way (waypoint terms) a-"next:waypoint terms"

Is there any way to set the waypoint to a player (either party, or guild)?

they're not actual notes in the cartographer API

I do really like that idea tho.

    Hehe whoops...

I changed my mind on one of the localizations and missed a spot. Should be ok with r26223

    sorry about that

and waypoints via context menus is ck's awesome work. I just quickly (er very quickly) hacked up the command-line access and searching.

    Try it!

    /way (or /waypoint)

    /way 34.5,39.4 go here!

that will make a new X (cross) note and set your waypoint to it

    /way herb

that will find the closest node that contains the substring "herb" in any of its fields (or database or note) and give you a waypoint to it

    /way smith

hey that might be useful! find someone to repair your armor?

    /way Random_NPC_Name

my personal motivation for this... so I can easily get back to my questgivers!

I get the exact same error with the Wand/Spellstone macro, with ClosetGnome_Banker.

I have also observed this using equipped: argument in a macro.

Looking at the FrameXML here's what I have so far...

equipped: is handled on line 1032:
    equipped = function(target, ...)
    for i=1, select("#", ...) do
    local type = select(i, ...);
    if ( IsEquippedItemType(type) ) then
    return true;
    end
    end
    end,

taint checker did indicate that INVTYPE_THROWN was tainted (a constant?)

r25277 fixes all of the Blizzard UI conflicts I was having

It will now check/uncheck the AutoJoin/AutoAdd checkboxes and fill in the LFG comment so that the LFGFrame's OnUpdate doesn't wipe out Grouper's settings.

Grouper will eventually mark you automatically LFG your current zone/zone's instances etc based on some profiles and such... that part is 90% done. Please browse the priority system and note any settings which don't match up to your browser (currently ST/UBRS/LBRS missing).

What is complete so far is a LFG browsing system (via fubar). Select "Scan" then click the fubar plugin until it stops flashing and says you can stop clicking.

Output is something like "LFG:DND (0/0/33)" - this basically means that there are 33 people in the LFG system that you could group with! Check the contents of the "Browse LFG" menu to look at the cached results (and to update them). "Scan" will do a complete rescan and update the user count.
