So, I've got a reasonably fast computer that gives me 40+ FPS in most places, but when I go into shattrath or any big city, I drop way down in FPS, and it takes quite some time for people to spawn in near me. I can see their shadows, but not their ragdolls. Once my hard drive settles down, I get a good FPS, until I run into a new area in the city.
Anyway, I've run WoW with all AddOns off, and my framerate is Much Better. I also run a TON of addons, so I'm sure this is an issue.
What I want to know, before I go through the process of manually toggling lots of addon groups to see which ones are the biggest hogs is, of the big-name addons like PitBull, FuBar, Aloft, etc, especially probably the ones that relate to other toons, are there ones that are known to be hogs?
I know, for example, that something in DogTag or a related library makes me able to see the spec of any player I target in both the CowTip and the PitBull unit frame. If this library has to pre-cache all this information with some kind of lookup, this could be part of the problem, for example.
Has anyone had any experience with this kind of stuff? I love all my addons, but it would be nice to figure out what I need to do in order to optimize my city experience.

You can search this thread. Just use the search box; it defaults to the current thread (or forum, or whatever is the most releveant dataset).
I have a weird feeling the search box isn't there on the default skin. If you can't see a search box, try changing the skin to the default SMF skin. (It's a light blue one.)
That did the trick. The only search I had access to with the default theme searched all threads and returned just the thread. The paging thing is still an issue, I guess if it's something that all action bar addons do, there's probably no way around it. I just fiddled with my other settings so that I don't page action bars with the mouse wheel (I don't even want to, but that was a default setting I guess I never changed).
Also, I want to lend my support for the feature request to have addressable action bars. Having a bar that casts everything on it on the target-of-target or focus or whatever can be really handy in places like arenas and raids. Heck, for party healing, having four bars that were addressed to party1-party4 would be really handy, go back oldschool-style like with GroupButtons from Discord.
Dec 20, 2007So holy cow, it's not possible to search this thread? No way I'm reading 136 pages to see if this is a duplicate issue.Posted in: General AddOns
For some reason (I'm not entirely sure why), when I hold down the shift key and use the scroll wheel, my action bars page around. I think this is the default blizzard behavior.
But if they end up on the wrong "page", my stance-shifting paging doesn't work. I have to scroll around to find which page I'm supposed to be on (based on whatever form I'm in) and then future form shifts will work just fine with paging.

I've got a bug report, and I apologize if it's a known issue. When I die while mounted (fall from a great height, etc), my button paging gets messed up. Normally, I have bar 1 paged to 7,8,9 for Cat, Bear, and Cat (Stealth) modes. Twice now, I've died in caster mode (while mounted) and ended up with the Bear action bar when I got better. I can't switch it from the Bear bar. I fiddle around with enabling / disabling paging, reloading, all that stuff. I forgot what I did the first time that got it back, but this time I'm still stuck.

Sep 18, 2007Ah. My config screen didn't have a rock subsection in the waterfall. It had PitBull, Cartographer, mmm... don't remember, there were four things, but none were rock. Oh, CowTip was one. I'll check again, maybe I got an outdated version, there have been a lot of pushes to SVN recently.Posted in: Rock
Sep 18, 2007So, I'm going to steer clear of all the drama that seems forthcoming. I like CowTip, I like Fubar, cartographer, etc.Posted in: Rock
Rock is fine, whatever. The thing is, I hardly ever want to actually configure any of those addons. So, giving up pixels on my minimap is problematic, especially since I can launch the configurator with /rock.
The configurator does not seem to have the option to disable the minimap icon (preferred) or even move it (acceptable, as right now it's sitting on top of my gather icon, and I can't see visually if I'm scanning for herbs, treasures, or minerals, which I rotate through).
Is there a commandline option to get rid of or move the minimap? I've tried all kinds of /rock KEYWORD, but they all bring up the window.
