I have a doubt/suggestion: tooltips like the EQCompare ones are not using cowtip, this is cowtip's 'fault' or EQcompare? Or is there already an option for that and I didn't see?

Why do you use EQcompare actually? There is no more need for such an Addon, its build in by Default since last Patches.

Just hover an Item with your Mouse and then hold SHIFT down, and a compare Tooltip popsup.

    Really? :P
Must read te patch notes more closely :P

Anyway, people posted a lot of reasons to continue using a Compare addon so I'm sticking to my original question.

EQCompare has some options to enable Skinner skinning, so I guess that EQCompare is the one who must support cowtip and not the way around, correct?

I saw something on the release notes of the latest WAU about "Good luck to the WAU2 folks", is Sylvanaar abandoning the project or something?

BTW, WAU 1.9 is a GREAT program, the threads interface, HTML changelog summary, name/description search, dependencies handling, its all very professional. Thanks again for such a great piece of software.

posted a message on Real Magic?
The "Ars Magica" RPG has a good magic system, as do the Mage: The Ascension RPG from White Wolf. Mage's system is more fluid, Ars Magica is something you can calculate and implement in computer games. Basically, Ars Magica has 5 "Verbs" and 10 "Noums". Verbs are like "to create" (Creo), "to destroy" (Perdo), "to change" (Muto) and the Noums are "Fire" (Ignem), "Images" (Imagen), "Mind" (Mentem).

You cast spells using the Verb and one Noum (or more, but it's advanced and rare), like Creo Ignem (Fireball!), Rego Mentem (Mind Control), Perdo Imagen (Invisibility). You can accomplish various different effects using different combinations, and even similar effects using completely different combinations.

Each verb or noum has a score from -10 to +10, and the spell power is defined by the sum of those scores, like: Creo 5, Ignem 5 nets a result of 10 (+ some attribute I forgot), so the power of the fire created will be limited by that.

The book also comes with a pre-defined list of previously created spells avaiable to the magic students, and they have nice names like "Ball of Abismal Fire" Creo Ignem (Fireball) or "Call the Lightning" (Lightning Storm), and rules to create new spells, and etecetera.

As I said, it's a good way to make a 'free form' magic system that get some logic.

Hey, in the last update my addons suddenly reverted to the "Blizzard" Texture and I can't find my old "Charcoal" anywhere. Something changed?

Is there a way to associate a /castsequence macro to cast the totems on the current set?

I'm having the same problem with moving the spells. While the author don't find and fix the bug on the SVN/Autoupdater, I'm reverting to revision 31808, that is working fine.

    Link http://files.wowace.com/Bartender3/Bartender3-r31808.zip

or go to the http://files.wowace.com/Bartender3/ page and search for the revision. There may be a newer version than 31808 working, but I didn't test.

This can help too, I think. The "guildfu" in this case may be a little crazy...

posted a message on LCD display and WoW
Well, I disabled all my scaling and my overall graphics are really better, mainly the character names and <guild plates>. But my UI is horrible. The fonts are looking non-antialiased, the menus from foobar (dewdrop I think) are too small or too pixelated even when I change fonts or sizes, and the QuestFu tracker is so small I can't read.

So, disable CF2 completely and use the default game fonts or there's another way out in the font department? Is the UI antialiased by any means? I saw an entry in a patch changelog about UI acceleration, but I don't know if it'll make any difference.

Strange. I followed the advice and set the scale all the way down. Everything became ridiculousy small and I had to use the "scale" parameter in all my addons :) But, the fonts look good again.

Now, what to do with the 3 extra inches on my bottom bar... :P

So, I got a new 19" Wide LCD monitor and I'm trying to get used to it. Mainly, my UI scale was almost the minimal setting and all the fonts got cra***ped, even with the UI scale a little bigger the char and NPC names and guild tags (<Reagent Vendor>) seems like non-aliased.

So, I'm open to tips on how to make the game look nice using an LCD display :)
