    What Happened!?

    Ok guys, we had a Oops Moment(tm). A command got typed into the wrong window and well, things went bad. I've spent the last 18 hours attempting to restore the database. Our backups where either lost or corrupted and I don't have a complete backup. I had to finally attempt to restore from the mysql binary logs. Unfortunately we only had logs going back to June 16th.
    What this Means

    Anything that wasn't touched since that time was lost. It sucks, BAD. I know.

    * If you can't sign in, just recreate your account.
    * We're working to restore pages from caches and scripts as fast as we can.
    * I ask all members of the community to help chip in to make this a better wiki than it was before.

    The good news is....

    Well we have the forums, the svn repository and the files repository all working and with no loss on any of them. We've also managed to sort out most if not all of the out of date information on the site. I promise however that such strong measures to reach this goal will not be employed in the future.
    Whats next?

    We rebuild. See status and what you can do

    Easier said than done, but we can have a better wiki in the end than we had before. I've also started implementing stricter backup procedures with multiple layers of redundancy. We will not be caught in the situation again.

    You can install the Threat lib and it'll transmit your threat to your party/raid and you don't have to have *any* interface to it. It'll happy send the data out without showing you any onscreen indication.



    that solves that problem then (i was actully installing that as we speak to test that thoery in kara tonight hehe)

    well its kinda fluff and kinda not, i guess its fluff for those that use a full blown client like omem, but to weirdos like me it has it uses, in my case i mearly had the threat portion active (not attached to any bars) and this happily transmitted my threat to the rest of the raid, they didnt care that i didnt have omen installed as they tend to yap about sometimes, there were content seeing my threat.

    it might be a nice option but ofcouse fully understand if you decide not to (and its not going to make me swap to pitbull if u dont :p) in terms of cosmetics, its fluff pure and simple (please dont hit me ck hehe) but i did find the option of being able to send my raid threat details without haveing extra mods installed very handy and maybe others might find the actull bars usefull

    yes evielwine its not a full client and never will be, and those that require that data simply require omen installed, i dont require that info i just think its a nice option to be able to send that data without haveing extra mods installed, i dont even like threat based mods, whenever i test them with my guild they get me killed which kinda defeats the purpose hehe, long live the hunter fd cycle :p

    it does, i know ive tested it for technofobe guildies, but as each mod is coded in a differnt way each problem is slightly different.

    eg : untill andreas "fixed" what he thought was broken i hadnt had a single problem with aguf when the rest of my guild was crashing left right and centre, only then did i have a problem, then i swapped to the branch and that problem was solved, i also swapped back to the trunk version to test out a code change andreas made, and again the problem for me seems to be fixed.

    remeber this is a blizard caused problem and untill they find out what broke and bother to fix it, the boys will do there best to code in a workaround, which is just what they have been doing, but it isnt easy, like i said the most recent code change for the trunk has once again fixed my problem and allowed me to use my beloved ouf again :p

    dont get me wrong pitbull is good i kinda liked it, it reminds me of duf i always liked overly complex addons...dunno why guess im just a sicko :p only advantage i had with pitbull Vs aguf was threat built in, would be nice if andreas had that on his future feature list *cough* hint *cough* ;) i dont care about generated threat im a hunter i just fd every 30secs, but my guildies do care so its nice to be able to send them threat data but not have omen installed.

    unless andreas has altered the trunk code that wont make much differnce. you need to try the branch code out instead

    also please note aUF_Layouts wont work right with the branch untill andreas gets time to alter them to work with the new code, and that wont happen untill hes finished the new version (the branch) and puts it on the trunk.

    that sounds like the truck version, have you tried the branch ? if not please do to help us crash test it for andreas :)

    all those in my guild that use the branch version have reported zero problems with the latest code sofar

    minor problem is aUF_Layouts is broken (my beloved oUF :p) with the branch, ive tried recreating it manually but to no avail, probally something simple like some code you havent added yet simply because its a branch and you will merge the new code, or i cant read wiki's right :p

    i studied trunk ABF with branch ABF to look for hints on what changed (things like the flags) and followed them, but still failed to get it working right. any tips or am i being a r-tard ? :p

    after spending sometime swapping and crashing/lagging joining battlegrounds it does indeed appear to be effecting party frames aswell, also if i reload my ui at any point i lose party frames totally and requires a full client reboot to fix.

    guildie swaped to the branch aswell, hes been suffering from it pretty badly, same results as me for him.

    on a plus note you new code seems to have improved the memory useage effect for him, so whatever you have been doing seems to in the right direction.

    *edit*

    i zapped all my settings, removed target, pet, raid and party frames and went to AV, there was a 2(ish) second load delay and memory spike on load on just the player frame, mentioning this incase its easier for you to debug a single basic frame and work upwards.

    just had to relog in kara and bye bye party frames (this is all with the suitably unstable branch version btw :p)

    woohooo i finally got that bug (strange im happy about that but i was feeling left out :p)

    had to relog in kara and it kicked the shit outa my pc, alt tabbed (eventully) to find WoW with a massive 2gig useage hehehe

    this is the 1st instance of this bug ive encountered and only since the last major code change (1st raid since then aswell)

    just out of intrest andreas what would happen if you removed the raid frame code for the time being as a test to see if it effects the party frames aswell?, possably create a no frame branch, i dont use raid frames of any kind at all (im a hunter i dont need them i have XRS to tell me when to feign to jumpercable the raid :p) so ill happily crash test that version for you to test party frames.
